nobody within the program should have taken this "out-of-house". shows there was no one to step up into a leadership role, especially after coach yori was no longer at nebraska. things have changed now since tuesday and we should know within a few days just who is all "N". hoping for the best.

not sure if you are trying to make a point or what? lately, have also heard a few comments from some that have seen her play a number of times and, in their opinion, she may be a bit overrated. comments made along the lines if she went to a "big" school she may have a bit of a struggle with the speed of the game. adjustment to that part of the game may take some time. i still think she will be a good one wherever she decides to go. one of the best to come out of the state of sd.

in an interview, matt coatney was asked just what kind of team he thought fans could expect. said he couldn't say because we have no idea what the roster is. told them to bring him back in september and he would give them his opinion.

no. agree it isn't good-------but, irreparable? i'm not so sure. for many of the players, a lot of emotions went flying around when these events got unloaded. guess we will see in the upcoming days. nat and jess need each other------on the court, anyway.

well, i always had a bit of trouble with the "racial" aspect. the other stuff? that was a different dance.
-
well, if there is someone who has the ability to smooth that out, it would be amy williams. i kinda cringed a bit when i read nat's comments. maybe a bit too honest. we got a good feel for nat and her passion for basketball during that one interview where she got emotional----as far as her recent comments, probably got caught up in the moment a little bit and let her emotions get the best of her. maybe a good lesson for her. i think we all would love for nat to stay----she definitely became a fan favorite.

Keep us up to date on this one whoopdeedoo. After today's announcement I'm thinking the Huskers might be back in the fold! hearing that Myah Selland was pretty enamored with Amy Williams and she may have been leaning towards being a "Yote". the one thing going in the Jackrabbit direction was some people thought the "fit" would probably be better in Brookings. also, the one big thing that seems to be constant is, she wants to play close to home. one other key word i might throw out there, is "play". joining one of the mid-major schools (sdsu or usd) would most likely turn out to be a situation where she could play right away---or at least get some minutes. hard to say, though. playing a schedule like a nebraska school plays is quite a step up from the level she is used to playing at----yet, she is pretty good! guessing there will be a bit of adjustment time for her. it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Myah may consider putting nebraska on her list. the hiring of williams may give her something to think about. i see Myah made sf's argus leaders "first five" and there is a short video with her. i can see it on my mobile but not sure how to link it to this venue. don't subscribe to argus on laptop, so, my monthly "free" articles are used up.

yes, amy williams replaced ryun williams at usd. he headed out to csu and has turned their program around. if amy williams didn't get the job, i would have hoped he would have got a good look from nebraska.

all the silence had me thinking (and hoping) it's just gotta be coach williams. gusso's are a high character family. i am sure it probably ate at her a little bit not being able to talk to her fans in vermillion during this period. i know she loved them and had a lot of respect for them. congrats to coach williams!!! GBR!

yes, should have added i hope it's not too serious. never like to see or hear about those kind of injuries.

just curious if anyone has info on this west millard commit to sdsu... https://twitter.com/Lrongisch10/status/719265249627492353

OT: Girl gets letter on interest in 5th grade
whoopdeedoo replied to Bugeaters1's topic in Row 6 Seat 10
my print size kept going really, really small on upper post. so, started over with this one. minnesota is watching their next phenom. an eighth grader, think her name is Paige Buecker? (sp) as an eighth grader, she was a first team selection for the girls state championships which included a number of DI signees. can't remember all their classes, if it was 5A or 4A whatever the top division is. oh, she is a guard. -

“I love it here,” Brunelle said. “This is where I grew up, where my mom went to school and it’s where I want to be.” Matthew Hatfield, the state basketball analyst for Virginiapreps.com, said that loyalty is a rare and treasured commodity among college coaches. “Nothing scares a coach more than seeing a player jump from school to school,” he said. “She’s obviously committed and loyal to her hometown. She wants to win, and wants to work to make her team and her market better. Coaches love that.” very nice compliment, and good for Brunelle. wondered how far into the article i would have to get before seeing the name "Auriemma". -
Clearly it had been a rough year, and another issue which hasn't gotten much discussion is the health of Connie's parents. Anyone who has gone through that knows has tough it is. Having said that, if it was unilateral--Connie just decided to resign on her own--you don't get a $1.2 million dollar buyout of your contract. it's not difficult to connect the dots here. yes, you are correct HB-----------sometimes still grasping at straws, still trying to make sense of all this garbage. i didn't really make my point clear (which i have always had a pretty good knack for). evidently the admin felt she had lost control of the program---and, like mentioned before, the public may never hear some things.
-
maybe, just maybe------coach yori had just reached a point in her life where she couldn't take anymore and said, "this is it". using the words of robert barone in the episode where debra and ray gave him money to help him out financially, "i need a break from my life!" with all the bickering that must have been evident a good share of the season, the "eye" on the program from admin, plus her divorce proceedings, it must have taken a toll on coach yori. i had mentioned before i thought her uni postgame interview---i don't know, something just didn't feel right to me. anyway, hope this is over by mid-week---relating to the coaching search. that would give me a good feeling it is probably amy williams, otherwise, it may drag on for awhile.
-
pretty cool, emily-------pretty cool! congrats! some good news out there, finally.
-
like i mentioned before, and yes, i may be a little biased favorably towards amy williams, i think she would leave a strong impression after talking with present players and the "incoming" recruits. at least give a certain one second thoughts.
-
if you would like a little insight on amy williams, she takes the podium just after the 4 minute mark: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbEq5R9BrsA this tweet: https://twitter.com/JtESPN991/status/718549467809595392

Is this the guy you are talking about whoopeedoo. no, local guy from sioux falls espn radio----his name slips my mind at the moment.
-
just my 2¢, but, i really believe amy williams could calm the seas rather quickly. now, whether she could keep everyone on board? who knows. that's kind of up to each individual player thinking of leaving or re-opening their recruitment. but.... IF, she is the one, i hope nat, hannah, and kathleen----also the ones that are most likely to remain give her the opportunity to speak with them before they make a final decision. i would put my money on coach williams to retain at least most of the current players and new recruits. jmo.
-
ok, rumor, but i will spit it out anyway-----according to the usd board, sioux falls espn station (the local guy) reporting it's Amy Williams job if she wants it. and let me add, according to usd fans, his tweets are not very reliable. so.....
-
i could be wrong, but, think the only two that haven't commented are Hannah Whitish and Kathleen Doyle? or maybe i did read Doyle mentioned she would have to think things over.
-
The larger problem, Schlautman said, was a lack of “player leadership” and an “unwillingness” to be coached. He described situations in which a player refused to run back downcourt on defense after made baskets, and another in which a player, after several prompts from the coaching staff, wouldn’t raise her hands on defense. Wonder who that was??? You'd be surprised who that is... I'll leave it at that... I'll just leave it at that.
-
one other thing i noticed about the usd squad. they were very impressive going after rebounds/loose balls and tying opponents up that had control of the ball. imo, one of the best in the summit---if not the best.
