  1. very true. guess everyone can have an opinion, but, that's rather strong for not even holding any workouts.
  2. The last they spoke was the day of her hiring press conference? That's only a few days before Natalie asked for a transfer. Wouldn't emotions still be running high that day? What would it hurt if the coach kept in contact with her to see just where she stands periodically? Some kids are really shy the way it is especially in a situation like this and contacting the new staff may be very uncomfortable to them. I would think with someone of Natalie's stature, Coach Amy would at least show her some kind of interest in wanting her to continue playing here by keeping the communication between player and new coach open. I'll be very disappointed if what these two discussed on April 12th is what the coach deemed was the final say! Very troubling i'd be a bit careful here. nat may be shy, but, it wouldn't surprise me if she was very "matter of fact" with coach williams. i would bet nat was really ticked off---more than some may realize and she may have let coach williams know that. coach williams may have left the door open, but, i would be willing to bet she knew at that point no way nat was coming back.just my quick take. That's a lot of maybes and might haves and willing to bets. Your suppositions might not be justified. How's that? my opinion, so what. i still say nat made it very clear during the meeting with coach williams she wasn't going to wear 'N' again. obviously, she wants out. i believe the door was left open to everyone, but, nat chose to close it. her decision. guess we move on.
  3. coach williams interview: 12 out of the first 16 days were spent on the road---reaching out to some of the best players in the country (and will continue, of course) stated she also spent quite a bit of time getting to know the players. challenges: catch-up on players and recruits; believes recruiting is all about relationship building. awareness of the circumstances within the program when interviewed: just had conversations about moving the program forward. starting with a clean slate. didn't really want to know too much about the past. stated players buying in is not a worry and feels very comfortable. her personality: feels confident of what she brings to the table to move forward. confident staff can find the strengths of players. has had discussions with all present players and incoming recruits. wants players that want to be at nebraska. said it was not difficult to get players to remain ( i will add, except one). asked what she expects first season: answer, remains to be seen. style: will have to adjust somewhat to the roster. has had top 10-15 scoring classes and excited to implement that at nebraska. expectations of players: good work ethic and willingness to "get after it". balance about being tough and demanding: need to add understanding and sensitivity the end. little comments by the hosts about why she didn't go after romeo harder, but, also added they don't know enough about the situation. one of the hosts stated he talked to someone who didn't think she will be able to succeed because of the staff she brought with her (ouch).
  4. My reference was to how Nat see's it.....not you or I or McKewon. (and I too think SOME of what he said may be posible) Yes, it's been hashed and re-hashed on this forum what may have happened. We'll never know the full truth. Nat has said Yori was not at fault, and Nat referenced some being to "sensitive". ...(or whatever you's like to label it) completely understood that
  5. guess i shouldn't re-hash, but---nat may have seen it as a "dumping" although i think there is more to it. sam mckewon touched on some of it not too long after things broke.
  6. interesting read on coach's yelling and cursing... http://espn.go.com/espnw/sports/article/15460919/amid-transfers-investigations-lawsuits-women-basketball-recruits-define-line-coaching-conduct

  8. hopefully, i will be able to fill some people in after the interview is played!
  9. not alone on that one!
  10. sigh. difficult to lose a talent like that. especially for nebraska. just a bummer. trying to stay positive, i thought maybe huskers still had a shot at the three. now, i think cayton and doyle go elsewhere also.
  11. iowa? seriously? ohhhhhhhh, kathleen doyle.
  12. my hope-------is that these players are giving coach williams a little time to get to know her better. if i am correct, i think the chances of retaining at least 2 improve. not saying they will stick, just that chances may improve.
  13. sweet! doyle and coach williams would be an awesome fit!!!

  15. You're a little over-sensitive, HUD. There is no negative attitude on this thread. Just some ironic humor. ^this^ just being a little light-hearted right now.
  16. It's really pretty easy. When you start to type a post, there are rows of icons above the area where you enter the text. Y'know, bold, italics, etc. About 1/3 of the way over from the left, there are two icons that look like chain links, one broken, the other not. When you post a tweet in a post, you're really just posting a link. If you want the tweet to show up rather than looking like a link, you have to "unlink." Which means you have to click on the link to the tweet and then click on the "unlink" icon. That will make your tweet show up in the post. Now go practice what Norm has taught you.
  17. just thought i would add, according to usd followers, rylie casio jensen is still committed to usd. probably not that late addition (that "raoul" mentioned in a tweet---although not by name).
  18. just listened to a discussion with the "argus leader boys" (cover sdsu and usd) and they were talking about amy williams taking the nebraska job. paraphrasing here, but, they both stated that while amy comes across very nice in her interviews----------------------------------------dare i say it .............she is tough on her players and very demanding!!! OH NO!
  19. congratulations, natalie romeo! http://www.dailynebraskan.com/sports/dn-female-athlete-of-the-spring-semester-basketball-star-natalie/article_b2ca3466-0da2-11e6-a233-ff3a8792836c.html
  20. it's a shame it has come to the point where athletes/schools need an ombudsman, but, guess that is where we are.
  21. Do you think Coach Williams cooled on her recruitment when she made the move to Lincoln? Interesting that the new SD coach didn't get much time if any at all to see if she could lure her in. nothing set in stone here, but, there was the opinion out there that she would go to a P5 program. there were some strong opinions out there that it would be either usd or sdsu. also, heard that she really liked coach williams, so, i would have to believe coach williams gauged her interest in playing for the huskers, but, evidently no luck. she had hip surgery (no idea what the procedure involved) and cannot participate in summer ball, but, wonder if it might have cooled some of the P5 prospects? of course, she will be a hs senior next season and will get a playing season under her belt after the surgery. hope it is something that does not linger and cause her problems. sdsu got a good one.
