  1. The knock on him was generally guarding the 2 spot I believe. He's a good player, people (scouts) were concerned with his foot speed. I do t have any complaints with how we played. You see the talent in the youth, morrow expanding his range. Playing off the bounce. I wish we would throw the ball in to the post more, it's hard to do but it would really open things up. I think it will take a few games for the frosh to settle down. This was fun. Tomorrow it is real. My biggest concern will remain, rebounding.
  2. I agree it's a priority, but I watched that game last night, and it was just an exhibition, but their were times where Morrow was getting pushed around by the bigs of NS. It wasn't just him, either. Imagine going against a guy like Hammond. Whew, or even Olah. At some point you have to go sign a guy and put him on your bench and develop him knowing he won't be worth a lick until he is a junior. I see that in Hammond. It's really hard to play small when you aren't deadly from outside.
  3. Really disappointed we didn't sign a big man, while I love these 2 kids, our inability to sign a big will cost us.
  4. My thoughts, I enjoyed watching us get up and down. I thi k Hammond looks better, but I think he is still 1 year away in terms of being physically ready to be a bigger contributor. Ed played a good game, and will be a star in time however, this team is going to really struggle against teams with big post presence. Tai, is the X factor for this team. I think Jacobsen and Borchardt will play this year. Glynn can drop some dimes, he is gonna be special. This team will be fun, next year will be great.
  5. I don't disagree w your assessment of Watson's skill, but experience, toughness, et all in the big ten is very very important. While I think Glynn should get more minutes at the PG than Benny, I want Benny starting.
  6. I don't disagree with Lee. I think next years team will be the team that makes a run. The lineup is what I thought it would be with Hammond starting at the 5.
  7. The Fuller talk should go away until he actually does something. As of now, you can point to what? He hasn't even been half the contributor that Tai has. After watching, I would venture to say he gets less minutes than Hammond. He doesn't have a position he can defend and his offense hasn't or isn't good enough to overcome his defensive inefficiency, that being said I don't run him off. I only hope as time goes by he improves so that he can eventually be a contributor.
  8. It ranks that way regardless of who you start at those spots, IMO.
  9. My lineup would be Parker, Tai, White, Shavon and Hammond. Morrow and Watson would be off the bench often and play 20+ a game.
  10. I've been a huge Morrow fan for years. I just think it's hard to expect him to have big numbers as a true frosh. Yes, he is Johnny on the spot and hustles but this is a different game than what even he played at Simeon. I don't think he blows by as many people for dunks. I also think he is a great rebounder but he wasn't going against a guy like Hammonds while at Simeon. I think by next year he could be a double double guy. I think he is a 6-8 pts 6-8 rebounds a game guy now. This site does really good stats. Per 40 min Rivers was a 7 and 7 guy. http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/david-rivers-2.html I think the adjustment is tough, even for the best recruits.
  11. Rivers I think had a little better face up gsme in regards to hitting that 10-12 footer. If Morrow develops that he will be really hard to stop. I'd probably say they are even. This team could really use a guy like LESLEE.
  12. Sorry for any typos, I'm on my phone. The glaring thing I saw yesterday, and I hope we get it his with Shavon or maybe Gill next year is we don't have that DOG out there that can go and get his shot. A dog doesn't have to be a hear checker or a volume scorer, but a guy who gets the ball and can just go and get it in a needed spot during the game. Talent, yes an overall roster upgrade. I've said this for a while now, but Tai can be and should be a very important part of this team. Hopefully he plays to his ability. I was very impressed by Gill, and surprised by Evelyn's game. When I look at Glynn, he oozes potential. He is a true PG, in the sense of putting passes where they need to be when they need to be there. He hit this beautiful pick and roll back door bounce pass that was breathtaking. Morrow. He is going to be a really good player for us. I think he is a 6-8 point a night 6-8 rebound a night guy this year. He will still struggle when he goes against a house like Hammond at Purdue. Andrew White, he is going to be a steady player for us, needs to give us 12 a night. He hustles, he rebounds, he is an all around good player. Hammond, is developing, I think next year is the year it starts to come together. He looks stronger and quicker but still needs some growth. Gill is the real deal. Next year this team will be very very deep. While the freshman look good, they are freshman, I was pleasantly surprised with all of them.
  13. Next year with a big or 2 years away.
  14. Even if we had Leslee, I'd feel better about the year
  15. I asked Rosenthal about what the actual injury is and the family didn't want Miles to disclose the actual injury. Weird. I was counting on him for minutes in the post.
  16. I'm excited to see how they play Morrow. They have a lot of guys who can play that 3/4 spot. If one of them grows you could almost roll out all 3 of them. Especially with the length in current class. You could roll out 2-5 all 6 7 or taller.
  17. Good, I liked the ability to play lots of guys for a good number of minutes. The good, Tai, he is finally starting to put it together. Morrow was good. Hammond was better than I thought I'd see. White, I think he is exactly what we thought he wod be. He isn't a slasher, I like what he brings. I think we saw some glimpses of what Watson brings. McVeigh looked good as well. I've never been a fan of Fuller. I think he is a good player, probably a spot minute type Big Ten player. He could be a good standing shooter. He athletically is just not their. He works hard. Teams need guys like him.
  18. With the current team i would take a shooter, another 3 ball shooter like a Cochran. I like what Ed showed offensively in the post. A big, I want for rebounding and defense but with the current team going in to next year I want a shooter. Still hoping we land a sr big man or a juco big man for 2016 season.
  19. Ed Morrow is gonna be a realllllly good one.
  20. Are we still in it with this guy?
  21. Hampton is #126 so not sure where he comes in at top 60. also the new commit they got gives them their second in-state commit. Must be nice to have some local studs to pull from. Tony Carr is #53. It was a typo. I meant to say, Penn State adds another recruit, a top 60. Thanks.
  22. Penn State with another top 60 recruit, class ranked #7 right now.
  23. Again, when addressing a need do you hire on a known or a maybe? Did you hire him to be a recruiter, if so, wouldn't you have a resume that speaks to that ability?
