2022 F Isaac Traudt - Virginia->Creighton
busticket replied to Navin R. Johnson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Not great news but who here would have thought we’d land a top 20 recruiting class WITHOUT Hunter Sallis in the fold? Disappointing if true but we’ll be fine. And once the wins start coming the instate kids will too. -
2022 G Ben Shtolzberg -> Creighton
busticket replied to Navin R. Johnson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
The reality is nothing has changed for Ramel. He has the same potential as when we offered him. He is very long and has good guard skills. Assuming he comes back from the injury well he has very good upside. I just hope it isn’t a case like Banton where we don’t get to see the fruit of all of those tools until after he is done at NU. Schtolzberg (or however the heck you spell it) was probably undervalued early on as others were saying. Hoiberg liked him enough to offer and he doesn’t go after slouches. He looks like the better college guard to me at first glance. Ramel has much better NBA potential based on his measureables. -
When Fred breaks our 80+ year NCAA tourney win drought I will build the statue with my own damn hands.

Are satchel’s allowed on the court??
busticket replied to Faux Mike Peltz's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
What year were the players wearing training bras? I remember seeing Walker wearing one. -
Agreed Norm. Anyone north of 33% is a pretty good shooter. A 33% three point shooter is the equivalent of a 50% 2 point shooter. Nobody is complaining if your power forward is hitting half his shots.
-
Damn good list. I’d consider scratching Anderson….for being only 6’4” he was an amazing rebounder. But he was technically deficient height wise against some of the guys he was asked to defend.

Exactly. I wouldn’t play horse with Lat but things are different in live game situations. Actually I wouldn’t play Lat in an actual game either. I am 5’10”. I am pretty sure he would destroy me. -

When Fred ran the drill last year and Lat went nuts (I think he hit 83 3’s), I assume the whole team ran the drill. I hope they do it again…I would like to see how the new guys perform in it. Especially Wilcher and Tominaga. -

The real measure of a player is how many wide open threes can he drain out of one hundred. -
That was my place
-
Delano is a helluva passer. I would have loved to seen him with a full, healthy year to play here.
-
$3.39 for gas? Really Norm? Come on now!
-
If I had to guess today, I think we are in the 14-16 win range this year assuming decent chemistry blending in the new kids. Probably go 8-3 non-con. If this team really clicks chemistry-wise we could break out and be in the 18-20 (NCAA bubble) range. It is absolutely killing me waiting for this season to start. I need a hoops fix stat!
-
I wouldn’t want him to have Banton’s ball handling skills. Passing ability yes…never liked his handles. Waaaay prefer Glynn’s handles as a PG.
-
Things are setting up much nicer going into year 3 Norm. The logical part of my brain expects us to over double our wins from last season. Things really appear to be falling into place for a nice run the next few seasons. That said, this is still Nebrasketball so who the hell knows what is going to happen.
-
Eventually the ball has to bounce our way. Right? RIGHT?!??!?!? (Please basketball gods, let it be this year)
-
In basketball he was listed at 6’9”. He was definitely taller than Ed who was listed at 6’8”. If Jacobsen is 6’7” now, was Ed only 6’6”?

OT: You can't spell "SEC" without "Texas"

Disagree. Adding KU would help our football program immensely. -
2022 F Isaac Traudt - Virginia->Creighton
busticket replied to Navin R. Johnson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Wow. THAT is impressive….I had no idea he had that kind of range. -
Actually there were 4 at the same time. In addition to Lue and Moore, Piatkowski and Strickland were also in the league. Crazy how good the talent was when Nee was here.
-
I was pretty sure Delano would get drafted ahead of college POY Luka Garza.
-
Fun fact: Kidd was the #2 pick in the 1994 NBA draft. #15…..Pike. Okay, back on topic now
-
I still think Strickland was underrated. He played in a tournament against Jason Kidd and shut him down. Jason might have been the #1 recruit that year; top 10 for sure. Being a dominant on ball defender isn’t as sexy as a flashy passer or scorer, though.

2023 SG Parker Friedrichsen -> Wake Forest...for now
busticket replied to royalfan's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
He’s getting the big offers he was hoping to garner. Personally I really want us to offer this kid, and not just because he is a good three point shooter. He badly wants to be here, which to me is the type of kid you want in the locker room. Like Norm said, if he is good enough for Iowa and Illinois, he is good enough for us. -
Biggest area of weakness to me is low post scoring, which is not a large part of our offense. BUT if a team is able to slow the tempo down and make it a half court grind of a game we could struggle there. Walker is decent there and Andre has shown flashes, but I would not want to have to rely on it for a whole game. My biggest concern is chemistry. We are again mixing a bunch of new faces together. I love the roster makeup for what Fred wants to do. Exciting potential. Now we need everyone to find their role and transform potential to performance.
