Only one I'm hoping for is for Fuller to move on and for us to sign a combo guard/shooter. Horne and Palmer are my next two I can see McVeigh leaving to play professionally internationally -
Yep

Watching a game with something on the line is stressful

Don't really think the depth is ever going to get better than the situation we are currently in without winning some games. Which is the question with Miles at the helm. Keeping Miles, recruiting isn't going to get easier. And I agree, I don't think we should be throwing spots away. But do you see those guys as throwaways? I don't. It's not like those guys don't have skills. They may not be double digit scorers in the Big 10, but they are as good/better as some of the parts we have and have had. -

We've had 3 straight losing seasons where we've collapsed at the end of the regular season. I'd be curious as to your definition of a step back. -

Thurman could easily play for us. Hahn could too. The fact he can shoot gives him a skill we don't have much of again in hindsight is 20/20. Don't blame Miles for not taking These guys over others that we have. That doesn't mean they aren't better though. I do think it's fair to question what if we had taken them over leaving 1-2 spots open every year though -

I think Hahn is what we hoped McVeigh would be -
Hindsight 20/20 of course but there are a lot of guys playing tonight that would have an impact for us

Yeah. Hed start for us.

As far as Norm's original question....I think the answer is very clearly no...it is not the same time. I think there are a number of reasons for it. IMO..... 1. Confidence. As the losses mounted, some of the care free play goes away. You second guess yourself. Clearly not playing the same. 2. Health. Not a big fan of the injury excuse. But I think even when we got Ed back, despite a few wins, we never had the same chemistry we had when he went out to begin with. 3. Roles. Think we struggled to define roles for guys. Playing time for McVeigh, Roby, Horne changed periodically. Between MJ, Jordy and Ed down the stretch, their roles changed. We struggled to push the right buttons down the stretch. I think this impacted the chemistry of the team. 4. Defensive Philosophy. Very clearly an issue here and a flawed approach to things. It hasn't just been this year, but really mounted down the stretch. 5. Added scouting. Big 10 is full of good coaches. Early on, a lot wasn't known about some of our guys and what we would do. Down the stretch it became very obvious that we aren't a good shooting team. We also aren't a great interior post team. Big 10 coaches can exploit that. Combined with the fact that we are easy to defend and aren't very good defensively....that's not a good recipe.

Guessing you could probably draw a similar comparison with all of our players in our wins vs. losses.

Tai 6'4" Taylor 6'5" And when Taylor wasn't at the 3....it would've been Jeriah 6'7". Jack 6'8" Roby 6'8" Length was the least of our issues. Defensive rotations and awareness were far bigger issues Starting lineups the last 4 games. Nebraska: 6'0" 6'4" 6'5" Michigan St 5'10" 6'4" 6'5" Illinois: 6'0" 6'2" 6'6" Minnesota: 6'2" 6'4" 6'8" Michigan: 6'1" 6'4" 6'6" So in the last 4 games....Nebraska has been taller at the 1/2/3 than 2 of the teams. Michigan averaged less than an inch taller per individual. Minnesota was the only one was a noticeable advantage and they didn't even shoot the ball that well from the arc in the first half against us. The ball isn't being shot over us. It's being shot when we are slow to rotate/recover or get lost. Or by another teams post because he can shoot and our bigs don't come out. We're just a plain bad defensive team. And have been. That's what it comes down too.

Length wasn't our issue this year.

uneblinstu's Post Game Chatter: Vol 9, Ed 30 - vs. Michigan

Would we be better? Maybe. But I certainly don't Watson's floor general ability is even anywhere close to our number 1 issue right now. -

How much more does Glynn look like a true point guard if we had guys who could hit open shots when he passes them the ball -
Was pleasantly surprised with Taylor until the last 6 games or so. Role player, knew his role. He's been remarkably bad the last couple games. Not just shooting wise, but defense, dumb fouls, bad turnovers, missed layups, etc
