  1. Actually she played 2 years under coach Yori. 1 and 15 her senior year in the big 12. Then 7 and 9 her senior year. She actually was listed a senior both years. Medical hardship?
  2. Just curious, does anyone know our targets with the change in coaching. I do not even have an idea of the types of players we are looking for.
  3. Q: who going to be our starting point guard? All teams competitive in the B1G have had great point guard play. Logic, Hauser, Moore, Theriot, Prahalis, Bently.... Since I can't answer that, we probably won't be great at the point. If coach Williams gets us above .500 in the league, she will have done a better job than I expected. Anyway I vote Woody.
  4. Hey as a Fremontian I love her game. She is good in every facet of the game. Note I said good not great. What is great about her is her mentality. She reinvented her game twice in high school. The first time was to take a back seat and play with Jess and the second was to play without her. Will she be a star, I kind of doubt it. That being said she is the kind of player every coach needs to have on their team. Very focussed, smart and mentally tough.
  5. Downward trend, coach Sunny left and our defense has gotten progressively worse. Coach Stephens is no coach Smallwood yet. I do believe she'd of found her stride in another year or two though. In other words I think we were about to trend up again.
  6. I am a bit curious, if we restrict media access for football, why were Nat and Jess allowed to be interviewed? I do not see how either of their interests were served by allowing the interviews. I also do not see how it served the interest of the out going or incoming coaches or for that matter the WBB program. Don't get me wrong I want to know as much as everyone else does, but.....
  7. Hey my nephew is the starting goalie on their soccer team, so ya. In fairness I still don't like their WBB.
  8. Besides recruiting coordinater she should bring in her own people. So with one exception I am with Norm. Clean house
  9. I would have to agree with Norm on the coaching staff. The one person she may want to keep in place would be the recruiting coordinater, so as to keep contacts. Other than that it should be her own staff.
  10. By the way I am really excited about the hire. From everything I read she should be the right fit.
  11. Step 1 save NAT Step 2 secure recruits Step 3 sounds rude, but if the practice players are correct, correct/remove the 1 or 2 who are driving entitlement issues
  12. The recurring leg issues are bothersome to say the least, but let's check the track record on 4 year people missing game or practice time. Williams yes Moore no Hooper yes Cady, Brandi and Haliegh yes T no Rachel yes Ramerciero yes Havers no Cincore, Romeo yes Woods no Jess, Burns yes Simon no By my count that's 11 of 16 I am not counting Anya, since she missed most last season or Clark for that matter. 1 year unfortunate 2 years a trend 3 years a problem 6 years what the heck Not sure what, but we have got to be doing something wrong.
  13. Three words rebounds, rebounds, rebounds. As poorly as Rutgers shoots, if we limit second chance points it should be an easy W.
  14. I would not move Nat from the 2, as she is far too lethal. The 3 point shooting is great, but not nearly as important as the way she moves without the ball. The constant movement occupies multiple defenders. With a full summer to condition Jess is going to be vastly improved as she will be able to scrap harder under the bucket and get more boards. I expect Jas will get the nod at the 3, but Maddie is a serious wild card. If her game improves enough to match her athleticism, no one will match her. There should be a good competition for the 4 between Burns and Alley. If the recovery is quick I do expect Burns to win the start. By my estimation that leaves the point. I will put a Buffalo nickel on Miss Doyle getting the start. I think she is the real deal. Remember the last time we had a freshman start at point. I do believe Miss Moore helped direct us to the sweet sixteen. As for the rest of the in coming freshmen. I expect serious contribution from two. Miss Cayton will be fabulous and adjusting to the college game. She's faced sooo much national competition the speed will not be a shock to her system. The surprise will be Miss Eliely do not be fooled by the lack of publicity. She is high on length and athleticism. The incoming frosh that I have no clue on is Miss Whitish.
  15. I think if Rachel T. Was healthy all year it would be a quite different story. First off she only looked like herself for 2 B1G games. More importatly she missed half the practices. No senior leadership and more importantly team chemistry building lacking. Keep in mind it's the point we are talking about. That chemistry with the point does have to be there. So even if she could perform well enough without practicing, the young team is going to have problems performing without her.
  16. Let's compare to who we know that is similar. JHoop comes to mind. Hard working and extra gym time. Check Works hard on defense, but like JHoop did needs a bit of footwork work. Check Under the radar. Check Shot she seems to square up better, but the release is not as quick. Unlike JHoop she may put the ball on the floor a bit. The fact that I can roughly compare her to JHoop should speak volumes of the potential upside here.
  17. Can not remember ever seeing that many odd releases go in the hoop. Reminds me of 00 more than T or Vonnie. Very quick burst to basket. She should be a foul drawing machine. I would have liked to have seen more on the defensive end.
  18. The good 1 Jess getting into form 2 Nat ahead of scedule 3 The improvement of Alley 4 RB43 The bad 1 Injuries to MS and RB43 Arguably our best post defender and with out a doubt in my mind our best athlete in MS. 2 RT's funk Tough to explain maybe too much was heaped on her. She's never had to be a vocal leader and really was not counted for defense. Ugly 1 all the turn overs 2 though not mentioned, I think uglier where is the help defense on the dribble penetration. This is where Cady and Sample are eeally missed. Looking at the rpi thing, the next three games are huge
  19. I hope she makes the cut. It would be truly wonderful to see a Nebraskan there.
  20. Poor Mr. White. I thought that everyone in America knew that when racism and abuse were spoken together, you shut you're pie hole and wait for the dust to settle. Next thought on this. Who were the two players that conducted the practices and could they be implicated in this, cause at this point I don't really see how the A.D.'s job is saved let alone his. In closing I will miss watching him following ref's off the court at the PBA and cursing them. Things that make you say class act.
  21. The comparison to Woodbury is a little bit of a stretch. With Rebecca it started right away. She came in to out shape to play. A couple more issues after that. In her case it was the last straw. I do not expect Natalie be given the hook, but with Connie I expect a pretty stout penalty. As a father of three girls, I would demand a harsh penalty for my own daughters. I would love the colonel to chime in on this one
  22. I picked it 1) maryland 2) iowa 3) nebraska 4) michigan state I think Maryland is the best team. Picked iowa over Nebraska based on schedule.
  23. At least one more and the right person wants to come two. Positions need would be at the three spot and we're hopefully in on Miss Page, which would fill that need big time. Though I am normally pining for bigs looking at the last two classes, I would have to say a versitile guard. A six footer playing at the 2 spot that can really handle the ball, play ball defensively, pass and has a deep skill set at scoring would do. I am asking a bit too much though.
  24. This is very exciting news. Couldn't of a better match for the program.
  25. I expect that Miss Page and Miss Kalenta would have the nod JHoops spot. Though a bit less publicized don't be surprised if Miss Smith is in the starting. I followed her through the little tri- community paper and really she puts up big points, but what I found really intriguing is Coach Yori was talking about how great of a passer she is. I wouldn't get too eager to throw Miss Sample under the bus. To play for Coach Yori you must defend and watch the tape, no one in the league moves her feet and plays position defense better.
