Nebraska (17-8) vs. Illinois (20-5) Game Thread

Someone else please shoot... -
I agree, but I'd also like her to finish out in style and say what you will it is a numbers game. Truth be told, if you told me at the beginning of the season that we'd be without Miss Potts, I would have guessed we'd be under .500 in the conference slate. To this point the team has exceeded my expectations by far.

This is kind of a troubling trend. This is our fourth game in a row that our point guard has out rebounded our starting post... We need Alexis to step back up and be Alexis

This was actually a big win... looking forward I see 3 W's, 2 L's and 6 50/50's. Assuming we don't take a bad loss with the on paper W's, 2 more wins puts us in and past that were playing for seating.

Nebraska (5-0) vs. Creighton(1-2) Game Thread

AW has gotten her butt kicked 8 of 9 times to a lower level in state program. How long do I have to suffer this before she takes a bit of pride in beating Creighton. If she works really hard she can get to .200 winning percentage next year -
Seat geek is really easy to use. The purchase fee for your first purchase is a bit steep, but that won't effect you much as the seller.

It's all about the way sports are taught and the way society is run. Why select teams....to win obviously. Why do they cost sooo much. So wealthy parents can chose the coach and who wins and remove the children they don't like. Why are parents trying to buy championships? Why are men wanting to play in women's sports? (It's because the prize is important and the competition is not). Truth in life "if you're not enough without the medal, there's nothing a medal can do for you" I always enjoyed getting my butt whooped, cause I knew I'd get better.

B1G+ Got a subscription and remain unimpressed. Broadcasters broken and lack good color. I love listening to Coatman, but broadcast isn't synced well, so I always know what's happening 10 seconds before it airs. I think you're better off listening to Coatman1 and going to home games, but that's my personal opinion

The problem is this schedule hurts the entire conference. Every team will suffer this in terms of conference rating. I can't excuse this for any reason.

Corey Montgomery was Danielle Pages replacement, so to speak when Danielle graduated. She started the year Kelsey missed on IR. The next year they went undefeated

Charlie Rodgers and Anna Deforge

Danielle Page and Kelsey Griffen

Pretty sure it's hard to break up fights without hands on. No, I've watched literally thousands of games and I cannot say I've seen a single instance where the officials have put hands on in any kind of intimidating manor. I have, however seen hundreds of examples where they should have stepped in earlier. I've also seen hundreds of examples where the reverse is true, or when players have gotten in their faces and unloaded the full 4 letter word dictionary and haven't so much as drawn a T. No it's time the NCAA steps in and gives the officiating some fire power to manage games
-
I do remember Danielle Page's 6 month recovery, but I'm not going to set my hopes that high. I'm just satisfied with a full recovery, both mentally and physically

The biggest steal in the portal could be Kiki Iriafen from Stanford. A little surprised more from Stanford haven't defected.
-
Does anyone know if we have offered to anyone in the portal?
-
I'd also snap up von Oelhoffen from OSU

Immediate and long-term future....what is your opinion?
caveman replied to twister31's topic in Row 6 Seat 10
A few thoughts........ We are going to have change our recruiting strategy, cause the west coast should now be open for business. If we efficiently change up, the length and atheleticism should take care of itself (Lot's of talent on the west coast). Fundamentally I think we do pretty poorly here. Pass, catch and boxing out we need to do a better job of teaching and pounding the importance of that. Let's go Cook here (serve and serve receive is the most important part of the game. In spite of how much the crowd loves the thunder shot and the roof). I am sick of watching lazy passes being our down fall. I also think our offense needs to be tweaked. Long entry passes and the three point line are not going to beat the best teams (usually). We need to do more with dribble penetration and midrange. That being said, I do think we are going in the right direction. We took coach Williams as a feel good hire, but any amount of common sense should have told us that she was going to take a bit of time developing as a coach. Though I've questioned it in the past, I do think she has turned the corner. So I do think our future is pretty bright, but I also think we're a still about 4 years away from that tremendously bright future -
Edwards did lean in just a bit (marginally). It's something that you maybe call the first five minutes to set a tone. After the first 5 probably not and in the last 2 minutes definitely not

Thank you HB

Speaking from personal experience in foot surgeries recovery times are usually pretty quick but unearthly painful

She has a toughness that I think we could really use. I was thinking Chen from Princeton or Amoore might actually be better fits for the team though. Truthfully I doubt any are possible, but going forward I think we have good guards, so just having that senior to sure things up while we recover and gain experience is what I think we're in need of. I noticed a 6'3" guard from Bridgeport, NE. I do not remember the name from state, but that might be a pick up we could get. Does anyone have the 411 on Ruthie Loomis
-
Fit is important. I'd want a big that gets 8-10pts., boards me 8-10, blks me 2-3 and alters about 20 shots and I want to keep this player for about 3 years. I'd also like a grad. transfer guard because we have a frosh. pt. guard coming in, arguably our best guard coming off back to back injuries sooo... I think we need that back court player that's been through the battles etc. to stabilize things a bit. What is on your or for that matter anyone elses wish list? Besides the cliche'd length and athleticism

This is what happens when NIL gets out of control. It gives individuals (kids) more power than the coaches and universities that need to hold them accountable

My goodness Cordosa is such a thug. I've seen 3 intentional and bordering flagrant and some how the 3 blind mice allow it to go completely unchecked. She can just run up and two shove who she twice petting people on their backs and another 3 feet out of bounds. To me it's inexcusable to not protect players
