  1. Is he talking about verbal commitments? I wonder what was on his mind when he wrote this article?
  2. I just checked rivals top 100 for 2013, and the top 26 were 5 stars, top 27 were on 247. So he's basically saying Tai would be a 5 star or almost a 5 star. Awesome!
  3. In response to #2, it's a national team, not a professional team. And my opinion on number 3 is that it is good for the program to have players playing as much as they can, especially if it's against good competition. Miles must think so too, otherwise I don't think you'd see Biggs playing in that Omaha summer league and Shavon playing on this team.
  4. Never a good idea. If enough people end up with his point of view, the oppressors and the oppressed will just flip roles and we'll start all over again. It's a vicious cycle.
  5. Same high school as this guy, who also had Division I basketball scholarship offers if I remember correctly.
  6. Those teams, along with Nebraska, haven't filled their need for big men this late in the game. Like us, they are going after the best available big men left.
  7. I can't find anything that says he made a decision.
  8. So, Pelini's first four recruiting classes don't count? What are you talking about? This year's draft class wasn't Pelini's "first four classes"... This isn't Kentucky bball where the players are recruited to only stay one season in college... He said this class didn't count because it was in shambles when Pelini got here and that having only two players drafted this year isn't an indication of the players being brought in now. But what about the average players in the four classes between the first one and the players now? He conveniently ignored them. I understood Vinny's post to mean that since Pelini coached LSU in the national championship game, which was in January, that gave him very little time to build relationships with quality recruits before signing day. I'm pretty sure most people would agree that the #1 part of recruiting is building relationships (if you are not a basketball blue blood like Kansas, Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, etc...) and Pelini had little time to do that. I understood Vinny's post to mean that we should not judge Pelini's recruiting by this first class. By the way, Pelini's first four recruiting classes include a bunch of guys that have a good shot to get drafted by the time they are done at Nebraska: Taylor Martinez (maybe not at QB, but he is a dynamic enough player that he will probably get a shot at some position) Kenny Bell Jason Ankrah Quincy Enunwa Ciante Evans Harvey Jackson Charles Jackson Corey Cooper Stanley Jean-Baptiste Mohammed Seisay Jonathan Rose David Santos Jammal Turner Ameer Abdullah A handful of OL will likely get a look as well... In addition to players in Pelini's first four recruiting classes that have already been drafted: Brandon Kinnie Dejon Gomes Lavonte David Rex Burkhead Damion Stafford What he said. Thanks Baller.
  9. I watched the draft. I recalled that this year would be the year that Pelini's first recruiting class would be up for the draft. You know, the class he had to scrape together when he took over the program? Hell, Burkhead wasn't actually part of that class, he came the next year, but never redshirted. So yes, I watched the draft and I kept in mind why we had a poor showing, and that our poor showing in no way reflected the quality of recruits currently coming in to our football program. That will be reflected in the draft four to five years from now. Since, you know, recruits don't get drafted two months after signing their letters of intent.
  10. Sure, but if he grew up down the street from ASU and has been in Salt Lake the past year, it's not like he needs to take an official to know what he needs to know about those programs. I would caution ruling out either of those two schools just because he's not taking officials to either one. If he was set on staying on the west coast, I doubt he would be taking visits to Nebraska and Georgia. B1G and SEC are better basketball conferences than the MW and PAC12. I think Sai wants to play in the best conference. We are in the best conference of the 4, and we have the advantage of playing against his former team. I'm not so sure the SEC is better than the MW and PCA12. Equal, okay. But not better.
  11. How did we hold it back a year? 2012 - Biggs, Petteway, Pitchford, Parker, Vucetic, Shields & 2013 - Hawkins, Webster, Fuller, Smith, possibly one more here. So which year did we hold it back? We held it back the year we gave Menke a scholarship. Beat me to it. Ah, I see. Bit of misinterpretation on my part, I was thinking of "holding back" in general and not just that one scholly. So I didn't understand how 10 schollys in 2 years was holding them back for later. Now I get it. I'd be fine with using it this year if it's on Sai because I think he'll be a contributor, or on a one year transfer so it opens back up to help balance the classes.

  13. If he's getting paid he might get paid more for them, but it doesn't mean he can't get paid for Atewe too.
  14. For those that follow Husker football recruiting, Tre'vell Dixon is a prime example of a player ultimately going where he wanted and not where others wanted him to. Hopefully Atewe does the same thing.
  15. his first in-home isnt until today so he didnt see any college coaches. Haha, posted this while I was typing mine. Thanks Kamdy. Its Auburn today, Nebraska tomorrow, then he wasnt sure which team and when his other would be. I have a feeling that third one never happens. I like your feelings.

  17. You can take the tweet two ways... You can take it as a "these guys really impressed me... I think I am going to go with them." OR "Wow these guys did not impress me much on this in home visit... Nebraska is probably the front runner for this one, and if they impress on the in home, they are in." Thing about social media, is you can get a wrong vibe just from the words and not any expressions to go with it. Right, but does anyone know who he saw yesterday?
  18. If his in-home with Miles and Harriman isn't until Monday, I'm not sure this tweet a good sign. Who did he see yesterday? I hope he picks us but I wouldn't put the chances any higher because of this.
  19. Oh my god, Cal is in the mix THREE times now?!
  20. I was new to the old board, like 2 posts new. But here I am. Maybe I'll get more involved now.
