uneblinstu's Post Game Chatter: Vol 9, Ed 25 - Penn State

Excellent team performance. Jordy T. Set the tone early and it seemed everyone contributed hustle, rebounding, ball and player movement and the shots fell. Can we take this to Columbus? -
Any win will be nice!

Miles needs to be here next season. Nothing is ever going to be easy in basketball at NU but we might break through by closing out the close games. Also, I would hope for a less challenging non conference schedule to build some confidence. (Just don't put Gardner-Webb or Incarnate Word on the schedule!)

I am a supporter of the NU program. It angers me that events that I am still unsure about have led to the current situation. That being said, I don't expect any victories the rest of the year but I do expect to see some pride and effort put forth every time out. If s player cannot do that, then don't put the uniform on. Coach Williams has a difficult task in facing her and the staff. The B1G has quality throughout the conference and we have to get more athletic if we expect to eventually challenge Maryland and Ohio State.

Those refs had no clue where they even were

I hate the "make up" call and I hate the so called "Euro-step". It's traveling. Last night was a poorly officiated game. -

I like our team and the way it battles. Some made free throws might have helped. We have to cut down turnovers and make shots. -

Do we want Ed handling the ball 20 feet out? -

It would be nice if Jordy would make a shot, fouled or not. The kid is giving effort and learning. -

Roby provided a spark. -
Sad that this program has hit rock bottom. It is a long climb out of this abyss.

Today was a good effort by a short handed team. We have to look for positives in the development of players. Our shot selection is questionable at times which contributes to scoring droughts. Tai made the game too personal and it cost the team. The team continues to compete and I like that quality -
Just finished watching a recording. Two things, they had Carly Wagner and we wasted early possessions in OT. Off topic, watched the K-State Texas game in Austin tonight, tight well played game. The Page sisters had 5 points. Kaylee started and Laney played about 3 minutes total. KSU is solid and had a chance against a very talented and deep Texas squad. Kaylee is a little outmatched at the 4 but was set up for a late 3 to put JSU ahead. Laney made a nice left hand drive for her basket.

Taylor will start, he will help with ball handling.
-
Hooper played against larger schools as did Cady. If Taylor Kissinger is nearly as good as either of those then we will have a ball player.

uneblinstu's Post Game Chatter: Vol 9, Ed 21 - Purdue
Cazzie22 replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Just finished watching recording (amazing how fast a game is when you fast forward commercials). I was wrong, we did match up with Purdue. Added offensive punch from Jack and Jeriah was big. Everyone contributed something to the victory. Hope Webster's ankle injury isn't too serious but the team should gain confidence from how they played down the stretch in his absence! This team competes! -
Plus side, some decent offensive execution and the team kept battling. OSU is indifferent on defense if they don't get a steal. Jess made some nice passes and some fine moves on offense. NU needs some consistent outside shooters and guards that can effectively feed the post. Defensively we have a long ways to go. Blackburn should help on post defense and the transfer guards might be able to defend better than our current group with the exception of Nicea.

I don't think fans should put unrealistic expectations on her being a huge factor on next years team. She is playing against Class C competition.
-
Sorry, but OSU will name the score now that they are heating up. Ball handling is horrid but we are physically overmatched at nearly every position. I just want to see if the team will compete the rest of the game.
-
OSU is shooting bricks and we keep throwing the ball away.

Someone has to be an offensive threat other than Watson or Webster. Roby has to look to score when he is in the game. Pardon tends to have great games against us. How are we going to rebound against Purdue? Why is Webster in the game late? Avoid a late injury. -
We are physically overmatched at every position. I like Grace Mitchell and her want to out there. Are we really that dreadful shooting the ball?
