  1. Coincidence he posted a pic from PBA ??
  2. For once, it'd be nice to have an offseason with no attrition. I feel like so often in recent years, we fill spots of players who leave with one year gap fillers that also don't pan out. It'd be nice to have guys start to stay for 4-5 years and see what they could become by their senior year. Think about how well that would potentially affect team chemistry as well.
  3. Not to mention the play where Thor chases after a loose ball with one arm being pulled behind his back for about 20 feet. That crew of refs should never be allowed to ref basketball again.
  4. 1st, you will never convince me that 10th year senior Trent Frazier shouldn't have had 2 technicals. How one of those was a bench T is indefensible. However, with Michelle's dork nephew reffing, nothing is surprising at this point. 2nd, I can't believe how poorly we value the basketball and possessions in general. Our better players make some of the dumbest, head-scratching decisions / turnovers of any team I can think of. For having some talented players and a tremendous head coach, this is mind-boggling and very concerning. Lastly, I hope Shamiel continues to show improvement. Physically and athletically, there's no reason he shouldn't be one of our better players and potential starter. His decision-making is borderline atrocious often, but he can just plain and simply do things that some of our other rotation players cannot. Let's hope his improved play continues.
  5. Every time I watch Roby or JPJ in the NBA or G League, I'm reminded of the great finishers at the rim we once had.
  6. God bless anyone who kept interest and hope after it went 51-39. Around that time, I think we gave up our 53rd offensive rebound/3 point combo of the game. And I still don't see how Banton (or even McGowens as of late) can be so bad at finishing at the rim. On a positive note, it's nice to see Banton find his shot a bit. I don't mind when his feet are set. Hopefully TWO days off gets us ready for Saturday.
  7. My 4 takeaways: 1. Cockburn gets away with so much pushing, it's nauseating. His first foul comes midway through the 2nd half...Yeah,ok. 2. Ayo carries the ball worse than Banton, yet never gets called for it. 3. Banton might be the worst FT/jump shooter/finisher for being 6'9 and a PG/SG that I've ever seen. I love the kid. He has some great skills. However, he is a huge liability in tight games late. His defense is atrocious as well when covering smaller guards. 4. Having said all that, what a great team effort. Clean up the dumb turnovers that popped up at times, make a feel more FTs, and we have ourselves a decent team.
  8. We take more contested shots and out-of-rhythm jumpers/3 pointers than SWAC teams.
  9. He'll be back next year unfortunately.
  10. I would pay money to get Cam back. That guy is damn near averaging a double double with SWAC talent around him. We don't have a PG.
  11. 2 things.... That last 10 seconds is a great effing summary of Nebraska basketball. Also, I am pretty sure we are the only team in the nation that gets called for traveling on jab and go dribble moves.
  12. I can't upvote this enough. Rarely is the replacement an upgrade. We need to start seeing more guys stay for 4-5 years. We have been a revolving door for players who spend 1 or 2 seasons here, and it seems to happen almost every year. Samari Curtis, Amir Harris, Nana Akenten, Kevin Cross, Jordy Tshimanga, Jeriah Horne, Bakari Evelyn, Tarin Smith, Jacob Hammond, Jervay Green, Dachon Burke, and Cam Mack. Now, I know some of those guys dug their own grave in some regard, and many wound up at lower level D1 schools, but that is still a list of fairly talented players who left before their eligibility exhausted. The constant revolving door puts us in rebuild mode so often, making it almost impossible to sustain or build momentum. It'd be one thing if we were only getting 4 and 5 stars to sign and replace those listed above, but that's not the case, at least not yet. Imagine if we let or pushed Tai Webster out early? How about Brandon Ubel? What if Frank Kaminsky wasn't allowed to develop at Wisconsin? Some guys take more time than others. Who's to say that Yvan doesn't become a beast as a senior in 2 years?
  13. If the following isn't Nebrasketball in a nutshell, then I don't know what is: Our opponent shoots 38% overall, 22% from 3, go 1-20 during a stretch in which we are ONLY able to cut it to 9 or 7, miss a wide open dunk in that stretch, and then somehow proceed to lose by 18. One day this nightmare will end, but my God this has been a brutal year and a half. Here's to hoping we can get some more positive moments that eventually bring us a W.
  14. Excellent post. The 17-18 team was our best team since the 90s IMO. We were 10 deep, and our 2nd 5 could've been a starting 5 under Sadler or Collier. Still a damn shame we got snubbed by the NCAA. I love Miles, but could you imagine Hoiberg with that roster?!
  15. I refuse to believe that we are as bad of shooters as our percentages say. I see two major issues with our shooting, specifically from behind the three-point line. 1. Too often, our guys are not catching good, in rhythm passes. Teams like Michigan and Creighton seem to always have shooters catching passes and shooting shots in rhythm, and they tend to go in more often than ours. 2. We also rarely make the extra pass or two that good shooting teams tend to make. Lots of our 3-pointers seem to come with a hesitation, not very much ball movement, or are contested.
  16. Now, does he bring a former Husker alum up from their G-League team next year?!
  17. What I find rather ironic is that lots (not all) of the "shut up and play, keep politics out of it" crowd who think players shouldn't voice their opinions are the SAME people who voted for a president who bitches and voices his opinion like a high school girl, and they have no problem with that.
  18. I like the subtle "Jaysker" jab which has the CU logo on a Red shirt!
  19. My brother sent me this, from BBB's twitter account!
  20. Great pic choice, 2 of my all-time favorites! However, that might be the nail in the coffin unless he wants to create a legacy where there's little tradition and possibly put us on the map!
  21. A little Shavon Shields to his game, might be worth a look.
  22. The major problem with your point is that LeBron IS a great team player. Some of those Cavs teams had no business making the Finals. He elevated those around him to get them there.
  23. Speaking of Pitt transfers, Ryan Murphy (yes, you heard me right, Calabasas Ryan Murphy) is looking for his 4th school in 4 years. So we could finally get him after all these years
