Mr. Tominga was at one of the State Tournament sessions this week.

Interesting tournament. Some good players in A & B. Watching South Sioux City get mercy-ruled @ state tells a story though. Quite the disparity between the top four or five teams in class B and everyone else. I remember the glory years of the Kelly Flynn coached SSC teams and lordy, what a vast difference.

The officiating was despicable. That said, if we defend better, if we shoot better, if we rebound better, if we take care of the ball better, we win this game going away. Keisei is hitting on about five of eight cylinders. Reink was missing in action as was Juwan, Brice and CJ for large portions of the game. And once again we lose on the road. Cripes, I am still waiting on us to play a full 40 minute game Especially on the road. I was hoping we were beyond that inane inconsistancy. So yeah, it's just one game and yeah, we can overcome this; but dang, if we truly want to get to the dance and win at the dance, these games simply cannot happen.

I'm a little confused, aren't we in the top 4 in our league? We beat a team that was #2 in the entire country, at that time. Our team is also at or near the top 30 in the country. I get the quest for perfection. As one once said, don't let good get in the way of being great. But we are not as far off as some may want to believe. So I truly understand where you are coming from; but every team needs five or six players who play small roles in order to fix cracks that may exist. Glue players can be as important as the stars...they just have different parts to play.

6'3" players that, when healthy, can step outside and knock down 3's, provide some inside presence, be a team player/supporter of teammates, grow on trees. We should find bunches of them. All bona-fide players will be willing to play behind Alexis, Potts, Petrie or our current incoming big for a year, so yeah, she needs to go . Seriously, if we have another big (either high school or transfer in the pipeline, she will move on. But if not, we should be begging for her to stay. Remember, we have scholarship room.

Taking a peek at our scholarship matrix, we definitely have three outgoing players (Keisei, Boogie and Josiah) and have filled two of those openings. Thus we will have one open position. I would LOVE it if everyone else comes back. But.. So right now we have Mast, Gary, Brice, JLaw, CJ, Matar, Lloyd, Ahron, Eli and Blaise plus Sam, Jeffrey, Cale and Henry coming back. Incoming are Nick, Braden plus one. The remainder of this season may be epic. But this off-season may be exciting as well.
