  1. The phrase that he changed his shooting mechanics sort of made me go hmmmmmm. We all knew that was necessary but he spent two years with a shooting guru of sorts and he struggled changing those mechanics. Was money the necessary motivator?
  2. No player is immune to the transfer trend; no player. There are enumerible influences on players these days, and it is difficult to balance them. So we can list each player with eligibility remaining as possible transfers...but so can every college team
  3. Every game is important; but this is a HUGE game for the program today! Just saying...
  4. Hmmm. Interesting. Wellll, welcome to Big Red country Denim!
  5. I can appreciate your perception. I just know that no Big Ten team goes backward and our hill has been a hard climb. We have much better talent and depth, so it should be exciting. But at least some people are not believing YET. I just noted we were predicted to finish 11th...in our league. We just have some proving to do.
  6. I do not want to send mixed messages with my response. First, I don't ever remember leaving a game early in 50 years + of attending all sports. So I really do not understand anyone wanting to leave early, truly, I don't understand. Second, if someone(s) choose to leave early, they should do so discreetly and not disturb anyone else. That holds true if you leave church, a movie, theater, a wedding, a sporting event or any other public event. If others can see you go, or if others are asked to move or get up or are distracted, you have now made it about you at the expense of others. Third, it is oftentimes a boorish and an aesthetically unpleasant looking process. Lastly, I will and have heckled, specifically when my view or experience is compromised. Yes, they bought the ticket, blah, blah, blah. But so did I and I have rights a as well.
  7. Yup. Nothing earth shattering. My two biggest worries as I watched that party is that the game is played with only one ball and we have a lot of players in need of that one ball. So will chemistry issues occur due to playing time, roles and shot selection? My response to myself was maybe yes, maybe no...we shall find out. Secondly, who are/is the leader. My guess is that it is Trey and/or Walker? But could it be Verge or Kobe? Worse case scenario---will we have a fractured team? Yet...so many feel good moments and there is a significant upgrade in depth and talent!
  8. Yeah, Tominaga hit 16 I think. I am glad some people know the starting lineup. I see ten potential starters. I am not into anything other than winning and I am not sure who the first five should be...
  9. ...okay, now that we know what this team is capable of...
  10. It is going to be interesting. There are literally positive talking points on every player. But there are a few issues as well. That said, it looks like we have 3 players vying for playing time at the 5. Briedenbach may also play at the 5 in small lineups; but he appears to be a 4 and will compete with Lat for playing time there...and Walker could also play the 4 in big lineups. Good lord, this team has a lot of flexibility and depth. No one is going to talk much about Oleg, but he is bigger and more talented than I thought. One example was a two or three minute stretch where he was dribbling two balls. Not a big thing...but it was a pleasant surprise. Yeah...there is certainly reason to be excited about thus team; I just want to try to control my runaway expectations.
  11. ... and Briedenbach is still in recovery mode.
  12. It was a fun night. Good crowd...perhaps 6 to 7000. A few were there for the post-basketball entertainment. Some of the female fans were lacking ummm, cloth in certain areas... But what I think I saw was a deep and athletic team that likes to have fun. A couple players stood out to me, and a couple sort of underwhelmed me a bit. But it is still way to early to pass judgement.
  13. It isn't just "old" people...
  14. My one issue WILL BE the jerks leaving early who block MY VIEW as they slowly walk up the stairs. I guess number two would be if they choose to linger at the top of my section. Flippin a#* wi#&s.
  15. I believe we are solid @ 15 wins... BUT...there will be ten games that we will be right there...they can be won or lost. So...we will get a few of those...how many??? Can I hope for 6 or even 7???
  16. Sweeeeet. I am telling ya...this is a DUDE. He is going to play a lot of quality minutes for us.
  17. Not so "special teams" --- rinse and repeat!
  18. Yup...my point exactly!
  19. Question...who will lose minutes if Lakes finds playing time? There are 200 minutes a game to be distributed to this team. Playing time will be earned and may be hard to come by.
  20. I am a fan as well. I cannot see any downside of this occurring with the possible exception of Kent having his feelings hurt that he can't do it
  21. If I remember correctly, Ty and Cookie are cousins???
  22. How the heck do you take a team picture WITHOUT all tour players present? Good lord, that is stupid. Bottom line, that image is not a "team" photo.
  23. Hype and hope can be very cool...but perhaps we should see him play a few games, especially against tough competition before we anoint him a lottery pick. There are a lot of studs out there who may have something to prove that may try to shoulder past him. Just saying.
  24. The interception was perhaps the second best thing that could have happened in that instance. Oklahoma would have benefited by simply batting the ball down. My lone issue, really, is our continued special teams ineptitude. Totally and completely unacceptable.
  25. Goodness, he looks bad in that blue, plain awful. Well good for him and good for Creighton. Man that is hard to say. I like his game and he has proven to be a good team player. It will be interesting to see if he becomes more than a "blend" player. I am betting that he continues to expand his game.
