This, so this! I was making this argument during the game. People were complaining about Petteway settling for terrible 3 point attempts late in the shot clock. I tend to agree with the sentiment, he seems to get calls these days so why not try to get to the line? But I also pointed out that he takes bad shots all the time and they routinely go in so it isn't that different at the end of the game.

This is a team we should beat handily. I am a little surprised by your sentiment Norm. I guess you think we have "arrived?" We are only 2 wins better than PSU right now if we lose to them than they hold the tiebreaker; it is not inconceivable that they could get a better B1G tourney seed than us.

Penn State has road wins at OSU and Indiana. They have already beaten us. They are not anywhere close to a gimme. We need to figure out how to limit the damage Frazier can do.

Shields clearly did something to his knee in the Illinois game and I never heard anything. His knee(s)? have been bothering him all season. Maybe that could account for his performance at MSU? Has anyone heard anything? When he came back in against Illinois I don't think he jumped once. Same thing for Pitchford. Got injured against MSU and he did come back but didn't look like the same player. What about Peltz? Is that kid hurt or what? Haven't seen him in a while.

Lets be honest, Joe probably doesn't do a lot of in depth resume analysis when picking the team he thinks will be the 8th runner up to making the tournament. I could see your complaint if LSU go the last at large seed and we are looking in, but the comparison for being included in a "next 4 out" section seems a little premature right now. Next Monday we will either be 8-6 in conference and firmly on the bubble or not and the bubble talk will be over.

We have 10 losses and teams at the bottom of the poll have 5 losses. We probably don't deserve to be considered at 58% winning percentage.

We need Ray and Sheilds to step it up and put the ball in the basket this coming week.

The biggest problem with our resume right now is number of losses vs wins. We need to win more. The other problem is we are going to take a hit in SOS over the next 2 weeks. But if we win our games that shouldn't hurt our RPI.

Yes. We also lost 5 of our first 6. That gets us to 6-6. Lets hope we can win 4 of our next 6. And then 2 of our next 3 after that. And then our next 6. AND then we are NATIONAL CHAMPIONS! Dance party!

If Ray goes 5-6 and leads us in scoring we lose. Without Shields and/or Petteway scoring 20+ we don't have a huge chance of winning. Having said that, I would love Ray to put up 15-20. If we go 10-8 the Devil will be buying a winter coat. And I will be celebrated. If we go 10-8 and I think Miles would get coach of the year unless MSU, MU or Iowa finishes the year really strong. You could argue that Michigan has exceeded expectations more than us up to this point.

I have never understood this logic. Just because a conference is good doesn't mean a certain number of teams are going to get in even if there are not qualified teams. It's not a rule by any means, but more based on a conference's perception. If NU gets to 10-8 w/ 1+ win(s) in B1G tourney, then the Huskers will be dancin' (especially w/ a victory @MSU ) Wait what? What I was saying is that being 6th place doesn't matter. It is our resume that matters. If we finish 10-8 we will certainly be 6th, maybe even 5th in the league. We will deserve to be dancing not because of finishing 5th or 6th but because of our resume.

The refs were terrible last night, and I usually hard ever complain. Having said that, they did seem to give us some make up calls when the screwed up.

I am not so sure that is a "milestone" we should be bringing up. Miles did improve his winning percentage to .500 I believe.

I agree. We have made the trek from Omaha for the last 14 years and it would be nice to have something to listen to other than savage (which we turn off the second we hear his voice).
