  1. My time was this morning, no upgrades were available for me. There were still some seats available in the corners of the lower bowl.
  2. I think #8 is the most important of your goals. If we eliminate that swoon the last 3 years the narrative on Miles and his tenure would be entirely different. Likely have an NIT or two under the belt and possibly another NCAA berth.
  3. Last year I remember watching Bohannon for Iowa hit 3's and make an impact on the game as a freshman and wondered "why can't we get a guy like that". I'm wondering if we got a guy like that with Allen. I did some checking into his stats, here they are: http://247sports.com/player/jordan-bohannon-28352. My question is, would you be happy if Allen ended up with stats like Bohannon did in his first year? To summarize, 28 mpg, 9 ppg, 35% 3pt
  4. It's a fair question. When the season first ended I thought he handled it well by getting in front of it right after the last game. At that same time, he said he would talk about it "after the final 4". In the time that passed between our last game and the final 4, a lot in the program changed (at least as viewed from the outside). The transfers changed the entire offseason dialogue. There were rumors swirling everywhere about more transfers, coaching changes, etc. Maybe it was wrong of everyone to assume that "after the final 4" meant immediately after (like that week) but especially with all of the noise about the state of the program it was either very calculated or very tone-deaf of the AD to not address the media. Even another simple tweet like "disappointed with the transfers but the future is bright under Coach Miles" would have quieted a lot of the noise. IMO, Eichorst is a smart guy and knew exactly what he was doing by not speaking about the program. He made the coaching staff's jobs even harder on the recruiting front and just fed the rumor machine. A more cynical person might think he was purposefully trying to make Miles flame out so he can hire "his guy" as soon as possible. So to answer your question "But what more are you looking for from the AD in terms of Tim Miles leading our team? What does Eichorst really owe us?" - a LOT changed since that one tweet and as the leader of a multi-million $ organization with a very active and interested stakeholder base he owes us what he promised - an update. A timely update would be even better. One thing to add, I've been a big supporter of Miles over the years. I'm now firmly on the fence on whether he can be successful. My issue with how this has been handled has nothing to do with being a "Miles guy" or a "fire Miles guy". It has EVERYTHING to do with being a die-hard Nebrasketball fan that wants to see an AD act like he wants us to be successful.
  5. I completely agree with your comments about the silence and about the need for him to lay out a vision for the athletic department. The longer he waits to say something (after he already said he was going to say something), the more fuel it adds to the fire on all the rumors out there. I have zero inside information but the way he is behaving sure makes it seem like he has something in the works that he's waiting to finalize (like a new coach) before speaking. Otherwise, I see no reason why he wouldn't have already had his after the season discussion he promised us. If he is planning to keep Miles around and actually wants him to be successful, there is no reason to not publicly talk about the program and say Miles is your guy. All he's doing is crippling recruiting efforts and giving rival coaches fodder for negative recruiting. The other reason for his silence could be that he's an idiot and completely over his head. I doubt that's the case and certainly hope it's not true as that would be the worst possible thing for the athletic department.
  6. So that means a press conference tomorrow?
  7. Interesting article about the Sudanese population in Omaha and their commitment to basketball. Dimes, if this is better off in the recruiting forum, please move. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2703000-refugee-hoop-dreams-do-come-true-right-in-the-middle-of-trumps-america?utm_source=cnn.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=editorial
  8. Don't forget the 11 assists and 7 steals per game. I heard he's the best point-center in the history of the Siberian league!
  9. Your C is my point, his "on the field stuff" worked out because he took chances on sketchy character guys. Once you start down a path of justifying taking talent at the expense of character so your on the field stuff pans out, it's a slippery slope. One I think we are better to avoid.
  10. How'd that work out for Art Briles?
  11. Huskers 82 blue guys 73 4 lets send out Tai the right way!
  12. Huskers 68 Green guys 79 I hate being the first game after a key player is hurt. The other team is more unpredictable and almost always plays more inspired.
  13. I read his comments very closely. He uses "lawyer speak" very well. Words things in a way that someone that likes Miles will think is in support of him but always leaves wiggle room so if he makes a change it doesn't look like he lied. I had the same impression of Boehm's response today. I wanted to believe it was an endorsement of Miles but it stopped short of that. BTW, the paranoid part of me wondered why that didn't come from SE. Of course that would've made praising SE in the release a little more awkward... If they seriously believe he should be back next year, just say it. Enough political speak. I think that's part of what frustrates people. Crap or get off the pot, stop talking about how you think we putting all the necessary things in place to make crap to put in the pot.
  14. Don't blame Lee. I usually do but in this case there's only one person damaging the program and recruiting by not talking. His initials are SE. He could have cut the legs out of this story with a simple statement of support. By choosing not to he's sending a different message. Either the progress of the program is less important than his "policy" of not commenting mid season or he has thoughts of firing Miles. Any damage to the program lies at the feet of SE, not LB.
  15. This argument became total Bs when he came out mid season in support of his hire in football. What exactly will SE learn the next 3 weeks that he doesn't already know? Final record is it - which means by not saying anything he's telling everyone that Miles is coaching for his job the last month of the season.
  16. I hear what you're saying but I have to side with Lee on this one. If Eichorst hasn't seen enough at this point in the season to answer this question then I'm not sure what he's going to learn the next two weeks. And he can't use the "I don't comment on performance mid season" excuse because he spoke in support of his football hire mid season this year. I also agree with Lee that I don't trust Eichorst to make another big hire.
  17. I don't always like Lee's work but he couldn't have summarized my feelings on this any better.
  18. Not sure I follow. Are you saying you think some of the top donors want Miles out?
  19. I was listening last night and absolutely loved his response to this. It's exactly what I love about Miles - he didn't back away from the question and then explained his philosophy around scheduling and his belief in what he's doing. I thought he nailed it. I totally agree with the scheduling too - I'd rather be setting here talking about the quality competition we've faced and not having a great record than have a better record but have faced nobody outside the BIG. Makes it much more fun to be a fan.
  20. Just the Wisconsin game. I was out of town on business and out for dinner during the game. My apologies to all!
  21. Ugly game but great win. Good thing my wife was gone because I was screaming at the tv on some of those terrible calls. On a side note, I don't want to take all the credit for the win but when we were down 7 with 3 minutes left I realized I didn't have Husker gear on. I put on a vintage black Nebraska basketball shirt and the rest is history! You're welcome Husker nation! ?
