It's hard to feel sorry for Iowa. But, how does Auburn, as a 9 seed, get a virtual home game?

I think we beat Mississippi State that year at home. Rutgers wasn't the same after their player went down.

Here is the difference between a team in the SEC and a team in the Big 10 in baseball. Nebraska loses 10 - 6 to Omaha. We can't afford to lose this game as our opportunities to lower our RPI are pretty slim. Ole Miss loses to Jacksonville State 10 - 6, and they have nothing to worry about because they have countless chances to have a low RPI. That's what is frustrating about losing to Omaha. Our non conf schedule is lacking this year.

I hope this performance angers this team. They better be embarassed. Free baserunners was the difference. 8 walks, 2 hit batters, and 3 errors are not going to win many games. Add to that striking out 12 times.

Christo with the 2nd best outing of the relievers. Only hit 1 batter and gave up no runs.

Wasted. One knock with this offense is we strike out far too much.

I worry about pitch selection. Shay threw way too many sliders. If I were to guess, I would go with 75 % of his pitches were sliders. Most of them missed the zone, leading to far too many walks.

You know what a great idea is to leave a pitcher who can't throw strikes in the game. Good game plan.

Wow. Not our best effort. Bullpen walks everyone. Shay walks 2 and gives up a 2 run double, and Omaha takes the lead back. This is the San Diego version of our team. Which is not a good version.

We were 5 - 2 in games decided by single digits. 3 of those wins were against NCAA tournament teams. That means we went 11 - 14 in games decided by double digits. 12 of those 14 losses were to teams in the NCAA/NIT. Moral of the story. If your going to lose make sure it's close and to a good team.

Nebraska should be in. I honestly can say I don't follow women's basketball. However, all the metrics say we should be in. They give Illinois and Purdue bids. We beat Illinois by 33 on the road. We beat Purdue on the road. Took #1 seed Indiana to OT on the road. Purdue had 8 Q1/Q2 wins. A better non conf SOS. A better NET. 7 Q1/Q2 wins. I want to know their criteria.

The bright spot for this season. We played spoiler to one NCAA hopeful. I feel if Rutgers beats us, they are probably dancing.

It says the wind chill is 19 today. I think yesterday it was 32. I believe the Wind Chill has to be above 28 to play.

The top 4 batters go 0 - 14, yet we score 12 runs. That's impressive.

We lost 4 starters from last year's team. 1 has played in the NBA this season. We managed to do pretty well finishing nearly .500 in one of the toughest conferences in the country. I would love to find a player like Griesel, who would love to come home, and play for his favorite team.

I was thinking about that with all the hate on CJ. CJ's decision making leaves a lot to be desired, but really it isn't a whole lot worse than Sam's at times. The key to the game was we had two chances to take the lead late in the 2nd half. Sam had two wide open shots from the top of the key and missed both.
