We don't win the Rutgers game or Iowa game without Wilcher. We don't win the Maryland game without Wilhelm and Keita coming in and grabbing defensive rebounds. Wilhelm and Wilcher have a spot. They should not be starting but will be important role players for this team. I don't see CJ shooting 31.0 percent from 3 next year. Gary, Lloyd, and Dawson need to be guys that need to get to the rim.

Minnesota was only the 5th team this year to shoot better than 50.0 % against us this year. The others were Oklahoma (L), Indiana (L), Northwestern (L), and Michigan (L). We shot better than 50.0 % 9 times winning 7.

I know we played very poorly today. But I want to give a huge hand to this team. There was no reason we should have finished 9 - 11 in conference. I hope we didn't use our NIT payback in 2019, and they select us to keep playing.

The doubling led to some of the worst passes I've seen a college basketball player make. They make 5.8 3's on average. I would take my chances having them make 10 3's than get shots at the rim. They were 12 - 16 at the rim and 10 - 24 from 3. We were 18 - 33 at the rim and 6 - 19 from 3. That's the game in a nutshell. We even go 75 % from at the rim, we win pretty easily.

That is what is so frustrating. If your going to call it at that point, you have to call it earlier when the other team does it.

Payne was moving more on all his screens than Keisei or Lawrence were on the ones they got called for. They were bad calls.

We did not play well on defense. We play anything like we had played this season, we win by double digits. It came down to Minnesota made their open shots, and we missed ours. Add to that, all the uncontested lay-ups and dunks for Minnesota.

Those 2 illegal screens were terrible calls. We should have never been in that position. We came out not playing real well, and still had an 8 point lead. Should have been a 15 point lead. Get that lead, and Minnesota is not in this game.

Good news Minnesota only has 2 offensive rebounds. Bad news They have only missed 16 shots.

It doesn't really effect us, but it would make me super happy if they went to the NIT.

Wisconsin went to an interesting defensive strategy. Hack and hammer Ohio State. Lucky for them the refs haven't called many fouls.

This offense has the ability to beat you in multiple ways. We can hit the ball out of the park like the 1st 4 innings. We can also manufacture runs. A hit and run gets runners on the corners. Next at bat, we put the ball in play and we score another run on a ground out.

He needs to establish command. If he can throw strikes, he has the potential to be a Friday night guy. To be honest, I was more disappointed in the scoreless 1st than the 2 runs he gave up in the 2nd. He walked and hit a batter in the 1st. He gave up a single, and a hit and run single that sounded like it could have been a DP in the 2nd.

I've been thinking about that for awhile. You have to put length on either Keisei or Griesel. Kind of pick your poison for opponents, unless you have a bunch of length.
