  1. My favorite play is when Max Biefeldt switched his pivot foot 3 times before making a baby hook shot.
  2. That wasn't a bad idea. Had Yogi on him. Got a pretty good look, just a little strong.
  3. Our 7th foul, already. That's not good.
  4. Hammond nice back-to-back games.
  5. I think the fans were also happy for him. I know I was. He got a huge ovation when he got taken out after the free throw. I am really happy for him. I know he has the capability to play in the Big 10, and he just has to know that he can play like that. Plus, he has to really work on his grades. It can't be a coincidence that Miles benched him right around the end of the first semester, and now says that he had some personal things to work on.
  6. It's kind of disrespectful, IMO. Seems like they did that for another NU game this year as well. Further evidence of the ESPiN conspiracy against Nebraska! I wonder how hard that would be to announce a game you are not attending.
  7. Miles said in his postgame radio that Hammond had to work on some personal things after the Miami game. (My guess is grades). Miles also said he hasn't played well since he got back. I really hope he learns how to concentrate on grades and basketball. He could be that center presence we need if we can't sign Jordy, or Jacobson doesn't grow.
  8. Hammond and Jacobson also had 4 combined assists.
  9. Hammond and Jacobson 7-11 from the floor. 5-6 from the free throw line. 9 total rebounds (6 offensive). 19 points. Get that and we will be in good shape.
  10. These refs were calling NOTHING in the first half, and now we get touch fouls on Nebraska with 25 seconds left?
  11. Thank goodness ball game wasn't closer, otherwise that moving screen was a bad call.
  12. Thank you, Chambers for keeping Taylor on the bench for 5 minutes.
  13. I think one key would be to keep White on the floor. It really hurt when he went to the bench in the first half. Agreed. But we need more than just White to produce. If not, we lose this game. Hopefully Watson gets going after that 3 to end the half. Tai needs to get in the game, too. Plus, White's presence on the floor, should open it up for the other guys.

  16. Don't you know that the three-point shooting percentage of our opponents more than doubles when they play us? Exactly, however, they are only 3-11 from 3. It just seems like nearly every crazy shot the other team takes goes in. It probably is just that we remember those more.
  17. Seriously, a guy shoots it from almost half court with the shot clock expiring and it goes in. From a team who shoots 28% from 3 on the year.
  18. We'd be destroying this team if we could rebound. They have missed 10 shots and have 5 offensive rebounds.
  19. I'm trying to find a silver lining to Shields' injury. I really hope he is able to attend the game. One area I think this will benefit us is for next year, especially at the start of next year. One thing I worried about next year is this team learning to play without Shavon. I think this helps us. We need to play well, and should be able to win this game, but we also should have beaten Northwestern and Samford.
  20. Looking over some Penn State stats. They are not a very good shooting team. They shoot 40.1% from the field and 27.1% from 3. If they go 11-18 from 3, the basketball gods hate us. They struggle on the boards, being outrebounded by 4 boards a game. We are out rebounding teams by almost 1 per game. Of course, our opponents shoot 41.6% from 3 in conference games. The top 6 shooting teams are 56-104 (53.8%) The bottom 6 teams are 38-123 (30.9%). They attempt about 17 free throws a game, we attempt 16.5 per game. Without Shields, we need to stay in zone, make PSU hit 11-18 from 3, chances are extremely good, they won't do that. Interesting note: The last time PSU came to Lincoln, we attempted 48 free throws. In fact, since Nebraska has joined the Big Ten, games against PSU in Lincoln, have involved 48 free throw attempts combined (2011-12), 73 free throw attempts combined (2012-13) and 71 free throw attempts combined (2013-14).
  21. I love how your being taught that if you get to the rim, you will be rewarded with contact being called for fouls and free throw attempts. It seems when other teams do that we get a foul called on us. When we do it, we have our guys flying across the floor, and they call nothing. My favorite play was White's put back when he got absolutely hammered and the ref swallowed his whistle.
  22. Teams shoot well yes... but no teams shoot lights out every game like they do against us. 10-15 right now. I would guess a team that has been to back to back Final 4's has guards that can make 60% of the 3 pointers they take if they are unguarded. It's almost as mind boggling as not playing zone against a team with multiple 7 footers when your team's tallest player is 6'8. It's stubbornness and that that stubbornness isn't getting results Showalter and Koening are 2 guys we couldn't leave open. They shoot 37.2% from 3. They only made 5 3's. The other players who took 3's were shooting 31.3% for the season. They were 6-12 from 3 tonight, with a bunch of misses coming when the game was decided.
  23. I will say if Penn State comes in Saturday and shoots 40% + from 3, the universe hates us.
