Not a good sign when Hammond is leading you in scoring with 4 points. -

It seems like they are going to let them play tonight. That seems to bode well for us. -

Much better defensive effort. We have to love the rim. Settling for way too many jump shots. -

I said it earlier in the thread. I don't have the video, but Max Biefeldt switched his pivot foot at least twice if not more, and made a hook shot. Yet, no travel? -
uneblinstu's Post Game Chatter: Vol 8, Issue 25 - @ Indiana
brfrad replied to uneblinstu's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Tough game for the young guys to play in. We were playing one of the better offensive teams in the country on their home court. It's kind of like our game Saturday against Penn State. They took control to start the 2nd half. The difference was Penn State seemed like they didn't have the want to in trying to comeback. I really hate Crean. The guy is a dick. How can he get people to play for him. You barely get into a game when you are up 20 with 1:30 to go in the game. Plus, your scholarship can be pulled from you if he finds a better player. At least Miles gives you the option. You might not get much playing time, I think you can get it somewhere else. Our young guys struggled on defense. Watson and McVeigh were abused a bunch. Need to work on that. I like what they bring us on the offensive end. I feel that we can teach them how to play defense. We probably struggle to teach them how to shoot. McVeigh had a good game on the offensive end 17 points on 11 shots will work. Need more out of Watson, 6 points on 12 shots will not work. I hate to say it, but we needed more from White. I know he had 15 on 11 shots, but while Shavon is gone, we need him at 20+ a night. -

Watching highlights. One thing that we need to do, is learn who to run out on. We ran out on Williams, who is a 31% 3 point shooter. He dribbled right by us for easy baskets. You got to go out to guard him, but under control, so he can't beat you on the dribble. -

The effort was alright. We just didn't have the horses. Watson did not have one of his better games. Need more from him without Shavon. McVeigh needs to pretend the other team is Indiana every night. Avg. 16.5 PPG 5.0 RPG 6-10 from 3. Our young guys need a lot of work on the defensive end. Watson and McVeigh got abused. I am hoping it was fatigue. One thing I hope Watson takes from Benny and Tai is the work on the defensive end. From my poor memory, I think Benny and Tai guarded Yogi pretty well. He was 2-8 from the floor. I just saw on the highlights, that he made one basket on Glynn. The other Benny left him to double down in the post. -

We actually only made 1 less shot, and 3 less 3's from the floor than Indiana. Indiana made 11 more free throws than us (after they decided to start calling Indiana for some fouls), that was the difference. Tough to overcome. Plus, we are fairly thin, seemed to run out gas. -

It kind of helps when the refs look at the stats and see one team went to the line 23 times, and the other team has went 4 times. They think to themselves, "Hey, we need to make this look good. Start calling fouls on the other team." -

Hammond definitely could learn not to leave his feet and swipe downward. I'm not arguing it was a foul, but it gets extremely frustrating when the other team does the same thing and makes contact and gets no call. -

I have no clue, why when we had it down to 10, we took White out of the game. -

At least we are shooting 51.2%. We haven't been able to consistently shoot in that range in a long, long time. -

This year, we have had some bad games on defense (Michigan, Northwestern are 2 that come to mind off the top of my head. -

If anybody but Benny gets Yogi on him, go down to the low block and post him up!! That has been there all night. -

We have only attempted 7 3's, and have only 4 free throws. Indiana has attempted 11 3's, and have 16 free throws. -

It's weird how we can be on the road, and get crap at us, we hear it's what you get for playing on the road. Then, we play at home, and we get the same crap at us. -

Yogi only has 1 field goal. He's made 3 free throws on bogus calls. One where Parker fought through a moving screen (after Crean went after the refs when they called a foul on Yogi). One on the bogus technical. -

Miles has a history of Ts.I thought someone said he has one of the highest T rates of any coach. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk He very well might...but I only remember the one in the NCAA tourney. The 2nd one was terrible. He was getting their attention to a shot clock malfunction. The only other one I remember him getting this year was against Maryland, after Turgeon got warned. -

he's a dick. I still remember him wanting to takedown Miles last year, and when Miles started going after him, he backed away, laughing. -

That was one of the weakest technical I have seen. If they called him for slapping the floor, that is weak. -

So, life in the Big 10. Tom Crean can run on the court screaming at the refs, and they take it. Miles slaps the floor, and he gets T'd up. It could of cost Nebraska 5 points. -

Maybe if we foul Yogi at half court, we can still count the basket if he runs up and lays the ball in. There is no way that was a foul on the shot. He blew the whistle when Yogi was at the free throw line. -
