  1. PSU went the final 6:55 without hitting a field goal. White going 6-27 in the last 2 games, isn't helping our offense. If he is anywhere near his 50% season shooting, we win both games. He is 3-15 from 3 and he shoots 40% for the season.
  2. To be fair Shields got a good look. Just couldn't hit it. I think he did get fouled, but you can't call a foul like that at the end of the game!!! I disagree the picture tells all. I saw the picture. Dang. I was hoping he got hit.

  4. Looked like a foul to me. IMO the last foul call was very questionable.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk If it was a foul it happened after the travel.
  5. Especially when Jack took 6 steps on that play. I know traveling is not a rule anymore, but that was a piss poor call.
  6. Need to find a way to win this. It would be good for this young team. Jack got away with a travel.
  7. I don't if we can pull this out, but not having Morrow for the last few games is showing up in this game. I don't know if he can grow a couple inches, but he seems athletic enough to be a rim protector. On a side note, what was that double dribble call on Shields?
  8. Well, when the other team is shooting 29.7% from 3 on the season, and 28,9% in conference games, it seems logical. They average 6 made 3's a game. They are 8-19 tonight.
  9. How does it happen when the other team flops, it's a foul on us, but when Shields does the same thing it is not a foul. That was NOT a foul on Tai. Anyway, we have one of these games a year. Where we are not interested in playing. It is usually against Michigan, but tonight was a night we could ill afford not to give an effort.
  10. Makes one wonder how Barry Collier put up with him. I don't think he's thrown a water bottle across the floor, though.
  11. I did a little calculation. This is based on minutes played per class, and weighted by class (Sr. x 4, Jr. x 3, Soph x 2). It doesn't take into account Minutes played previously. For example, White barely played in his 2 years at KU. If I had more time, and my excel file worked, I would try to calculate based on that. For now, here are the results. Iowa 3.096 (Most experienced team) Michigan State 2.765 Maryland 2.758 Indiana 2.739 Penn State 2.622 Northwestern 2.605 Purdue 2.520 Illinois 2.469 Michigan 2.445 Nebraska 2.407 Rutgers 2.394 Wisconsin 2.328 Minnesota 2.266 Ohio State 1.808 (Least experienced team) Notes: Nebraska's freshmen have played 38.2% of the available minutes. Most in the conference. 2nd is Minnesota at 35.3% and 3rd is Ohio State at 35.2%. Iowa is far and away the most Senior laden team, with their Seniors playing 57% of the available minutes. Wisconsin's Juniors play 62.8% of the time. They will be a tough team next year, if everyone stays. Michigan is leading the sophomores playing 52.8% of the minutes.
  12. Uhh, no it didn't. The refs started calling more fouls on OSU. In fact, the T helped NU stay in the game with the variance in FTs being altered in NU's favor after the technical. It seemed pretty close in the 1st half on fouls being called. I think OSU had 4 1st half attempts, Nebraska had 0 attempts to that point. It should have been a defensive foul. It didn't seem to have that much of a difference, as OSU was in the bonus with 13 minutes left. You can get your point across without getting T'd up. I'm not saying these refs were even average, they were terrible, but this is now the 3rd game in the last 6 when he got a technical. That one made free throw could very well have made the difference between us winning and losing. These refs were extremely inconsistent. White gets called for a very questionable moving screen, because the OSU guy flops. Later, I think it was OT, when Watson gets screened, does the exact same thing as the OSU player did when White screened him, and no call. It was obvious the calls were favoring OSU. Miles probably told the ref "call it both ways." That's nearly an automatic T. It was earned. And the calls did get slightly better thereafter. That single point did not cost NU the game. Remember White bricked 2 FTs when OSU was called for a technical. Many times tonight I commented during the ballgame that it was a miserably called game by the referees. Both coaches were not pleased, and both coaches get T'd up. I doubt that Miles truly is targeted, I took it that Miles *knew* that a T was forthcoming. It didn't 'cost' NU the game, that's extremely inaccurate to suggest it did. Like most close games, you can look at a number of plays that "cost" us the game. I don't remember when it happened, but I think it was OSU'S last possession in regulation. They missed a 3. We had 3 guys with a chance to secure the rebound, none of them could. They go onto make 2 FT to force OT. What happens if the refs actually call the foul when OSU bear hugs Watson on the last play? What if they call the obvious flagrant one on OSU when White went for the lay-up and the OSU player never went for the ball? Miles' last 3 t's have been questionable, but you can't do that to the team. I love Miles passion, and energy. I love it for the young guys. He needs to tone it down just a little bit.

  14. Our guys on the floor in OT: Benny Glynn White McVeigh Jacobson Benny is the only guy with positive experiences in close games down the stretch. We need to close out these winnable games (NW, Ind, Mary, Mich, and now OSU)
  15. Miles has to get his point across to the refs without getting a tech. He cost us a point, which probably cost us the game. I understand the other coaches get away with crap. I think they could throw a chair across the arena, and the refs wouldn't give them a tech. Miles has to learn he is getting a rep as a whiner. He does not get a long leash with these refs. It cost us a game tonight, and very well cost us a game against Maryland.
  16. White's stats in conference games Wins: 44-76 from the floor, 20-42 from 3, 19-26 from the line. Losses: 49-115 from the floor, 22-58 from 3, 18-26 from the line.
  17. If you turn up the volume on this you can hear whom ever is taping say"oh my goodness" If it wasn't a foul, it was a travel by Watson. There is no way this OSU beats MSU or Iowa.
  18. Miles took the heat, said he earned the t. We seem to go as Watson goes. Watson is shooting 29-58 from the floor in our 6 conference wins. 3-9 from 3. 6-8 from the foul line, has 20 assists to 7 turnovers. In our 9 losses, he is shooting 35-99 from the floor. 6-28 from 3. 6-9 from the free throw line. 16 assists to 10 turnovers.
  19. Couldn't happen to a bigger prick. Man, I wish we were able to shoot 2 more free throws, when Thad Matta is flat out yelling at the ref. The ref just yelled right back at him.
  20. Most likely the same ref, who didn't SEE it!!
  21. In that video, you can see Benny talking to the ref right in front of him, I'm assuming trying to call timeout with 5 seconds left.
  22. It's a young team that hasn't found a way to win the close games. Outside of MSU in conference (which we gave Valentine way too good of a shot at the end to beat us), we've ran away from teams. We've been in every one of our losses, I think Dirk said if we can avoid a 20 point loss in the last 3 games, it will be the first time since Barry's 1st year where we didn't lose by 20+ points in conference play. That's a positive. Now, we just have to learn what to do down the stretch of games to win. Watson isn't big enough to get to the rim, yet. He is not big enough to shoot 3's over a team like OSU for a last shot.
  23. White couldn't make a shot. We can't have him 3-17 from the floor and 2-10 from 3. The 3 W's (White, Webster, and Watson were 10-42. That's not going to cut it. We need Shields back, big time. (However, his replacement, McVeigh was 5-11 from the floor.)
  24. I should not have listened to Miles post game show. Just said on the last possession of regulation that Benny was trying to call timeout, and the ref said he didn't see him!!!!!!! He didn't see much else.
  25. We need to get stronger. We have to deal with the inconsistency of the calls down low. Lyle was just way too big for us to handle in OT. We have to learn that contact is called differently when we take it to the rim. If we don't get a foul called, we have to learn to finish.
