This is sort of related but does anyone know if its in the plans to continue to grow the Lincoln Airport? The recent flights to/from ATL are great additions and it would be awesome if Lincoln could keep building on those. Are there any thoughts to bringing in the "cheaper" airlines (Southwest, Allegiant, Frontier, Spirit)? Me being based in Charlotte I'd obviously love for American to fly to LNK. I've flown to OMA and GRI on American, if American is willing to fly to GRI it most certainly should be able to fly to LNK. Assume the LNK airport would need expansion if any of the above happened though and I have no idea if that idea is wanted or acceptable to the citizens of Lincoln. But it definitely seems like it would help in getting these types of events to have more carriers/flights in and out on a daily basis.

UConn wants him pretty badly apparently and out of high school that was his "Dream" school but I'd like to see him at UNL. At the end of the day everyone on this board should care about one thing and one thing only: can he help us win games? In my opinion, the answer is yes. So go get him, regardless of the other bs that happened with him.

I know this season is still going on but wanted to start this thread since I think it is pretty interesting discussion: Starting 5: 1. Watson (6'0 174) 2. Palmer (6'6 213) 3. Roby (6'8 214) 4. Morrow (6'7 234) 5. Tshimanga (6'11 275) Rotation/Bench guys: Guards: Taylor (6'5 206) Gill (6'3 195) Akenten (6'6 200) Wings: Horne (6'7 222) McVeigh (6'8 215) Bigs: Copeland (6'9 220) Jacobson (6'9 239) Quick observations: - I know that Akenten is supposed to be a dead eye shooter but man it is going to be tough for him to crack the rotation IMO. I think if he is going to take minutes from anyone, it is going to be Gill or McVeigh as I wasn't all that impressed with Gill when he was a part of the rotation this year and McVeigh has yet to show he can be consistent enough to count on in a night in night out basis. - I don't know that Fuller will be back here next year despite having a year left to play. I would think Miles would encourage him to Graduate Transfer and pursue signing another ball handler or a wing that could also play as a stretch big if needed (Edward Chang- looking at you). - I really really think we need to find another ball handler to come off the bench. We will finally have enough size to truly compete in this conference but I worry that we won't have anyone besides Watson to bring the ball up the floor. (Taylor? Gill?) - I'm looking for a big jump from Isaiah Roby both physically and mentally. We need this kid to step it up. - I think Horne also has potential to be a really really special player if he figures it out and becomes more consistent. - Not sure what to expect from Palmer but he has the size and is supposedly a knock down 3 point shooter. We really need that. - Hopefully Copeland can play the full season. - I don't know what to do with our bigs. Jacobson probably helps us spread the floor better but Tshimanga makes us a much better rebounding team/bigger. Curious to see which direction Miles goes. Overall, I think this team could be really special. This has the look and feel of a NCAA tournament type team. If Tim fails to make the dance with this bunch, I think it is probably safe to say he will be in very very hot water.

I didnt yell the fouls out but it was pretty ridiculous at one point. Pretty sure 7-2 or 8-2. We were right behind Roby's contingent that drove in from Virginia Beach. They couldn't have been a nicer group

Little late to report here but wow, what a game. My thoughts... Ed Morrow is simply on another level than every other big man we have. This may seem obvious but the dude just flat out hustles all the time, even when he's away from the ball. He made a couple of really really nice plays around the basket. If our bigs (and team for that matter) all played with the aggression and assertiveness that he plays with we would win 2-3 more games from sheer intensity alone. Morrow regularly gives up at least 3 inches in the post, yet his work ethic and hustle allow for him to be a dominate presence in the paint. Probably the most enjoyable player on our team to watch. Jordy is going to somehow have to learn how to defend and rebound without fouling. Him getting his 4th foul 25 feet from the basket 45 seconds after Miles put him back into the game sums up everything there is to say about him. Every time he makes a good play there seemingly are two additional boneheaded mistakes that will go away as he becomes more comfortable on the floor. Part of this I guess is due to there being different rules in the US game than the Canadian game but man, he could really help this team if he could get his act together. As tough as Morrow is in the paint, Jacobson is the complete opposite. Tends to avoid contact and rather than going up strong and using his size, a majority of the time he tries to finesse his way to the hoop. This is a mindset thing that may or may not be able to be changed in the future. Watson is a phenomenal player with the ball in his hands. Next step for him is to develop a catch and shoot/off the ball game. Tai played well. We DESPERATELY need a wing player to step up and give us something. Anything. I don't have the stats in front of me but did anyone from the Gill/Roby/Taylor/McVeigh foursome even score Wednesday night? Last thing about the offense- it will improve when we become more comfortable. There are a lot of players on this team that look timid and scared. I don't know why McVeigh does as a Junior but he still looks like he is freaking out every time he is on the floor and it really makes no sense. The guys that are comfortable out there (Tai, Glynn, Ed) are making serious plays. The guys that are scared aren't. And that, more than anything, sums up why we are where we are at this point. The lack of ability to shoot the 3 pointer absolutely kills us offensively, and the lack of ability to defend the 3 pointer absolutely kills us defensively. There were multiple possessions where Clemson would toss it inside and the entire team would collapse on the post and they'd kick it out for a wide open 3 at the top of the key. Our biggest issues in defending the 3 pointer IMO actually come down to recruiting bigs that 1. rebound purposefully and effectively and 2. play good enough defense that we don't need to help from the perimeter. If our bigs can guard 1 on 1 in the post it will help our 3 point defense immensely. Thoughts on Clemson as a place: Really cool. 9-10 miles off the highway so pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Its ironic how much more developed Lincoln is as a city than Clemson yet you never hear that Clemson is in the middle of nowhere and thats the perception most people have of Nebraska. I was chatting with my buddy on the way down that we might be the only Nebraska fans in the entire arena but when we got to Esso (famous Clemson game day bar) we immediately saw large pockets of red intertwined with the orange. Never doubt Nebraska fans. If theres a game- we show up. Littlejohn Coliseum is very nice. Seats 9k and was just renovated last season, this was only the third game played there since the renovation. I was very surprised at the large student turnout for the game. They filled their entire section on the sideline and behind the basket. Band is also behind the basket in the middle of the student section. Fans couldn't have been nicer to us. Overall was a great experience. Would highly suggest going to a road game if you can. I hadn't been to a Nebrasketball road game before but it was a great experience and I look forward to attending next time they come close to the Carolinas. GBR

Headed to the Clemson game tonight- will be behind the Husker bench. Can't wait to see the team in action. Looking forward to reporting back in regards to the atmosphere, crowd, new arena renovations, etc. Littlejohn got renovated last year so I'm curious to see how it stacks up to PBA. GBR!
