    Anyone else watch the game? Thoughts? Jays were able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory when it appeared impossible. Sort of reminded me of a Pius/Wahoo HS game I once saw. Probably would have been better for NU if the Jays had won but the schadenfreude was so nice....

    His dad starred at Wesleyan. That might be more palatable to him than a bench position at NU. But who knows what he will want? Anyway, I'm glad he was given the opportunity to make a choice. His family is legendary in the Lincoln Catholic community.

    Another couple of thoughts: Whatever one thinks of Garza (and his eyebrows) he showed some guts playing on an ankle which was obviously still bothersome. They wouldn't have won without his effort. Whatever one thinks about the Hawkeyes, they beat Iowa State who handled KU quite easily this year. They are not as bad as we let ourselves believe.

    Handy: I think I (and most others here) fell victim to worshiping at the altar of false expectations. Now that I have had time to soberly reassess yesterday's results, I am reminded that all I wanted when the year began was for the team to get invited to the Dance and to finally win a game or two. This goal is certainly still achievable.

    Commentary not quite as bitter as expected. It will take a loss to Penn State to unleash the Rock Bottom phrase. Hopefully that does not happen.

    I apologize for being so prescient. I knew things were going to go south as soon as that big Iowa nonentity, Kreiner, swished his first three pointer. In retrospect, one should go with his gut, not his brain in making choices. I should have learned this on the Bachelor over the years.

    I think Iowa needs this game more than we do. I expect their crowd and team will be up for this one so we can't let them start off by making threes and getting an early lead. This seems like a road game which we should win and would be a very deflating loss in terms of our expectations.
