  3. Couldn't think of another Monday song, but here is another "summer" one I heard on the radio yesterday
  4. I get the impression we have reached this point...
  5. Just fact checking.... i would walk 500 miles song - Search (bing.com) ...Meet the Proclaimers! (Craig and Charlie Reid-with a nod to Benny and Joon).
  6. Norm: This one played at least 100 times on the AM radio when I drove nonstop from Boston to Kansas City in 1970. My wife had flown to my parents' home after delivering our second child a few days earlier and it lightened up a long and lonely drive (and kept me awake). Always had a soft spot for Chicago after that.
  7. Theme song from the movie "The Sterile Cuckoo". Saw this horrible movie the year we got married in 1969 and yet we have managed to stick together this long. Interesting factoid: It was titled "Pookie" when shown in the UK ('nuf said).
  8. Prime Minister? We were never even in the top ten for Paul Mulcahy.
  9. If we get him, we have a chance to lead the league in headbands.
  10. And don't forget, we have a Mongolian Grill near Gateway!
  11. I hope he plans to take a tour of the Tenderloin. I hear it is beautiful this time of year as long as you watch out where you step.
  12. Anyone remember Sideburns Jones?
  13. I will sleep better tonight.
  14. Just off the top of my head: 1. Bobby Moore hitting a half-court shot at the buzzer to beat KU at BDSC(1/27/79) 2. Tom Wald hitting three clutch free throws at the end of a game against Michigan State for a victory(12/10/94). 3. Ronnie Smith hitting a game winner in Manhattan (2/4/84) to win a day game there. (I had to look up the dates-I usually have enough trouble remembering today's date)
  15. It was a good book. Hopefully LeBron and Sam can do it justice. Review: 'Canyon Dreams' deeper than sports (journalstar.com)
  16. My own worst basketball prediction which shall live in family infamy forever (2002): "Valparaiso will ride the back of Lubos Barton to the Final Four this year".
  17. As an added perk, they threw in a lifetime supply of peroxide.
  18. All of my grilling efforts seem to turn out flambe' in the end. I must have a little French heritage somewhere.
  19. Rich came to the reunion at P.O. Pears in the early days of HHC. He was working for Boeing in Seattle at that time since his pro career never panned out. I once purchased a jersey which Danny Nee donated at an auction and told everyone it was an old one of King's. When I got it home and looked a little closer the next morning, I realized it almost fit me (and I am no where near 7' tall!). Danny was the ultimate flim-flam man- probably why we was a good recruiter.
