  1. Dang it. I had him penciled in as the power forward on my all-saints team.
  2. Too early to call. Depends on how the next 11 games play out. (3-4 wins with the present roster =yes to both questions, all losses=no to both)
  3. Game highlight: Chris Collins gave a very generous postgame presser.
  4. The bad news: I don't foresee any remaining games I'll be picking us to win. The good news: I didn't see or hear any of last night's game (although I might watch our first 25 points if it is shown in rerun). Now on to Maryland.
  5. It was Carl McPipe and Andre Smith at Oklahoma State. Both had fouled out and no one got punished. KU players had a much more significant incident with Missouri fans underneath the basket in 1961. I think Bill Bridges and Wayne Hightower were two of the players.
  6. Thumbs Up Japan: Meaning of Hand Gestures in Japan - Japan Yugen
  7. When my dad coached high school basketball in Kansas (somewhat successfully), in the late 50's and early 60's he made all of his players shoot their free throws underhanded (slop bucket-style). All of his teams also wore knee sox (to improve their peripheral vision).
  8. It might be something in the oatmeal, but I will pick Nebraska 65-63 whenever this one is played.
  9. I thought kidney had retired that trophy.
  10. TV analysts were spot on with this play. Fortunately, the referees did not blow the replay either. Not sure I can remember a cannier defensive play at a more critical time.
  11. I watched K State beat KU last night (a great game!) and Keyontae was the difference for the Wildcats. Unfortunately, he reminds me of a more polished Brice Sensabaugh, who we will get to see tonight.
  12. Sounds like you weren't a fan during the early Danny Nee years.
  13. OSU 70, NU 60 (Don't think we can win this one without Gary)
  14. LJS story this morning said Hoiberg hopes he might be back by the end of the year-which doesn't sound too promising.
  15. 4 days to heal and rehab. at least.
  16. While we are on this topic, I believe Dave Bliss is still available too.
  17. Technically, Barry resigned to become AD at Butler.
  18. Fred was an innovator at Iowa State when he was one of the first to pluck unhappy transfers to build a team. But now that everyone is doing it and college teams basically start from scratch with a group of transfers, yearly success is much more of a crap shoot depending upon which players decide to show up and which look for greener pastures. Coaches who are perceived to be on a "hot seat" have a decided disadvantage.
  19. I managed to steal keys to the DeLorean and went back a couple of more years to that game against Colorado where Dave Hoppen messed up his knee and warned him not to play that day. Moe's team still went to the NCAA but was able to beat Western Kentucky and eventually, with Hoppen leading the way, reached the sweet 16. He never got fired and went on to coach at NU for more than a decade. When he retired, another young, defensive-minded assistant from UTEP took his place by the name of ....Doc Sadler.
  20. I would tend to agree with your surmise. If it were a fracture or dislocation the decision should have been known yesterday.
  21. All I could find was an "uncertain" comment on CBS sports. Seems like they should have an idea by now. CBS also said that either Tominaga or DD would start if Juwan were unavailable.
