  1. Can we get a PF/C that weighs more than 220lbs?
  2. The entire team looked gas at the end. Obviously we are short handed, but I would think the conditioning would be there. Didn't we hire a coach just for that? I don't see how Almeida plays more than 5 minutes at a time. The guy looked like he was going to faceplant quite a few times last night.
  3. Norm, I have no idea what you look like (nor do I want to). All this time I just assumed you looked like George Wendt (who by the way is co-starring with Shelly Long in the soon to be aired made-for-tv movie "Merry In-Laws"). You'll always be George Wendt to me.
  4. Ill take Valpo 77-61
  5. I had no idea the program Bryce Drew has built there. They return 6 seniors including the Horizon League's Player of the Year (Ryan Broekhoffe). Size, speed, and experience will be too much for our Huskers. FWIW, my prediction is Valpo 77, Nebraska 61
  6. Afraid not. We will struggle to win 10 games this season
  7. Southern opened regular season play with a 82-59 loss at Iowa State. The Jaguars led by a many as 11 in the first half only to see Iowa State take a 2 point lead into the half and take control of the game with a 25-11 run to open up the second half. Southern was led by senior guard Derick Beltran who had a game high 26 points on 10-21 shooting to go along with 3 rebounds and 3 steals. Malcom Miller came off the bench to add 10 points and 6 rebounds for the Jaguars. Iowa State dominated the boards (59-33) while holding the Jaguars to 30.3% shooting Southern and Nebraska both played Alcorn State last season. Nebraska defeated Alcorn State 60-46 in Lincoln, while Southern split the season series, defeating Alcorn State 65-54 at home, and falling 60-40 on the road.
  8. I am afraid this will be the worst basketball team we have had in quite some time. And that is saying a lot. I miss Jorge Brian Diaz
  9. I don't watch NBA, let alone WNBA games. I seem to remember a famous youtube video of a man dancing at a WNBA game to a song they played tonight. Lots of techno music and weird crap. Very odd. I'll just go ahead and include the video that had the same song, When they played it wed night, it immediately made me think of this video, which ties in with the WNBA. So in summary, I saw the youtube video and recognized the song. You couldn't pay me to watch a WNBA game. sorry if link/setup is not correct.
  10. Talley played very well.
  11. You guys might want to seriously consider changing your score predictions for the Southern game.
  12. Almeida looks and plays like he is 400 lbs. Getting dominated in the psint by Midland. I think we could win the GPAC this season.
  13. We lost the tip. Ubel lost the tip to a 6'2" kid. Huskers 8/25 from the field, 5/12 from 3, 8 turnovers, 18 rebounds. Talley, Gallegos, and Rivers playing well. Almeida is slower than ever. Our 7'1" freshman can't dunk. Ubel 0 points, 3 fouls in first half. Not liking the new arena announcer and apparently we now play WNBA music during timeouts.
  14. Excellent! Love having a chat room where we can safely cry
  15. I agree. I usually park downtown (16th or 17th street) and walk.
  16. Looking forward to being in person for the first game of the Tim Miles era! So what if it's an exhibition. Looking forward to seeing Benny Parker and Sergej Vucetic play. All redshirts should be able to play, so I am assuming we will get to see Biggs, Petteway, and Pitchford play a few minutes.
  17. I agree. No one expects much out of Nebraska. Fingers crossed we take care of Midland
  18. You are correct, it will be $4 to park.
  19. Robin Washut from Nebraska Online (rivals) stated based on his observations of practice the starting five will be: PG: Benny Parker SG: Ray Gallegos SF: Dylan Talley PF: Brandon Ubel C: Andre Almeida Don't think this is much of a surprise. Still not 100% on if Biggs will redshirt. Either way Biggs can play in the exhibition.
  20. 1. Kevin Durant 2. Blake Griffin 3. Paul Pierce
  21. Ubel will lead the team, Rivers will have biggest jump
  22. Speaking of Iowa State, they have a pretty athletic team returning. Nice size as well. Babb '6'5" 225 Ejim 6'6" 230 Okoro 6'5" 230 Booker 6'9" 255 Gibson 6'9" 260 Niang 6'7" 245 Ellerman 6'8" 240 ....meanwhile, the Huskers have one player over 240; Andre Almeida 6'10" 314 http://www.cyclones.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=10700&SPID=4252&SPSID=46664
