Just to add to your point about transcending the game. There's a famous statue of TO with a player who also transcended the game. Have a lot to say about KT and this team, however I'm saving all of that for when the season is officially over. A few note worthy stats from last season to this season: GP : 32 <-- 28 MP : 803 <-- 720 GS : 14 --> 28 PTS : 420 <-- 392 ( Regular Season 397 <-- 392) FTA : 53 --> 64 FT% : .868 --> .889 TRB : 51 --> 61 AST : 22 --> 35 STL : 18 --> 25 TOV : 27 <-- 30 (This is likely due to him attempting to distribute the ball more) These STATS point to a more complete player. Last season he caried a much larger offensive load late in the season and was way more efficient. He was also not given the attention defensively by teams last season as he's been given this season. I'm going to say the quite part out loud. KT saved HCFH from being fired at Nebraska last season. It is no coincidence that his permenant insertion into the starting lineup in Feb 2023 allowed us to finish out the se regular season 6-2. There was an adjustment period in January for KT and the team to the losses of Gary and then Bando. It's not like we where world beaters prior to Bando and Gary getting hurt as we where 9 and 7 with both and then and went 1 and 2 after Gary got hurt prior to Bando being hurt.

I wasn't floating some conspiracy theory but rather asking a general question about the committee favoring certain matchups or potential matchups of interest. I honestly didn't know if there is any history of the committee doing this. I don't believe that either Pollard or Collier have any animus towards Nebraska. When it comes to Barry Collier I know that he has been to many of our games over the years and appears to have a soft spot for our program. He's one of the good guys and extremely high character. I have no idea what you are talking about involving a personal agenda with Butler. Collier or Pollard can't even be in the room when the Selection Committee discusses their respective teams.

I want out of that 8-9 game. would rather be a 10 seed. Would getting to the finals of the BIG Tourney move us up to a 7? What if ...
-
Not the NCAA tournament needs assistance for getting more eyeballs...but...this match up has to be very intrguing. Any history on the committee doing this in prior years.
-
Been nice if you had stated why. I looked it up and it’s the first tie breaker. The records of the three teams are compared based on winning percentage in games between the tied teams. edited to add: saw your updated post after I submitted my response

Don’t think we need Wisconsin to lose as we have tie breaker.
-
Would really like to move up to the 3 seed.

uneblinst's postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 30- Rutgers

Fouls were essentially even. Very quite 18 for KT. Struggled from 3 and still found ways to score. Key stretch in the 2nd half. Up by only 6 and KT gets an and 1 then his only made with an and 1. Also, really liked how we played down the stretch. Used up clock. Don’t care if we didn’t score a bucket. -

I despise Robbie Hummel about as much as I despise Nick Bahe. He is like this for every game of ours that he calls whether home or away. -
All this has done is further separated the blue-bloods. It has also been a boon for athletes with a social media presence. There is a D2 wrestler that I follow at Wisconsin Parkside named Cayden Henschel. He has a decent following on YouTube. His content is all about his wrestling which has raised the profile of Wisconsin Parkside. Because of NIL he can monitize his videos with sponsorships. He’s in the process of creating his own line of wrestling shoe. He’s worth of follow. https://youtube.com/@CaydenHenschel?si=_LWdDiQl0T_BpfAc

I'm much prefer him to our prior 2...... football coaches

Scenario for finishing 2nd. Illinois going 1-2. I ran the same scenario with Illinois, except NWU beats Minny in last game for both and we still get 2nd over NWU based on tie breaker via winning % against #1 seed Purdue. Edited to add that Illinois, Minny, NWU, and Rutgers all have 4 games remaining over the next week and half.

How many T's did TM get during his time at Nebraska? When the states are high, like they are in the NCAA Tournament anything can happen.
-
... and we get Baylor in the first round again.

4th place

I'm not as convinced as others on us ending up in Omaha, UNLESS ISU ends up there and that is for the obvious storyline. Another thought is that they, the committee, know that we as a fan base will travel and thus they could place us as a site that would be more favorable to ensure attendance. I don't know how often a site that would be close to a home team ends up there. i.e. BYU going to Salt Lake Site
-
With the caveat that the goal is the NCAA Tournament and not BIG 10 Tournament seeding. We need Wisconsin to win tonight. They are barely a Q1 win for us now and a loss to IU, even though it is a road game, would likely drop their NET to a Q2.

Hmmmm… ISU in Omaha. Would the Committee factor this potential matchup in where teams are placed?

uneblinst's postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 28- Minnesota
Ron Mexico replied to Bugeaters1's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
This ^^^100% this^^^. I was concerned about his play earlier this season in games where play was more physical. He’s been a key component during this 4 game winning streak, especially on the boards. Speaking of our defense we seem to be just a step quicker on our close outs. Fewer opponent wide open 3’s. Overall just better team defense. Things are starting to gel at just the right time. Others have said it, the OSU game feels like we are playing with house money. For once the conference schedule has worked in our advantage. Minny had a lot to play for and we shut them down, especially their bigs. That was surprising to me. -

Taking care of business. Great game by JG. -
No worries. My goal was not to make anyone angry. I’m very nervous, more nervous than I’ve been since “No Sit Sunday.”
-
Hopefully KSU gets back to their winning ways.
-
Got that road win out of the way. I think we have a better chance at winning those last 2 road games than beating both Minny and Rutgers. Both of those teams have 2 conference road wins. We are in a dog fight with Minny to potentially see who gets the double bye. That is the game that worries me the most. Both of those games where lost because of 2nd half large lead collapses.

This is mostly KT.

He can't apply for medical redshirt until after his senior year has completed.
