Definitely Bando. We needed a lock down perimeter defender. -

So you are putting this on him? He scored 21pts. Every team’s best defender was on him. He was grabbed and pulled in every game. Defensively he improved every season. He wasn’t an elite defender, however he was average. His scoring more than offset any defensive deficiencies. It will be very difficult to replace him. Best pure shooter since Pike. -

The timing of him leaving was an omen. I’ll never forgive him for what he did. Call me unreasonable, I don’t care. It was a huge distraction at the worst possible time. -

I’m sick to my stomach. A&M shot the ball way beyond their season averages. I thought in the second half they would return to the mean but they didn’t. Love this team and always will. We need some dudes. 1on1 we were out matched. -
It was reviewed, as a potential flagrant, because of how the KU player fell down. That was the shortest review every.
-
KU got very lucky last night. That block being called a foul on the dunk attempt changed that game.
-
Yep. I can’t watch with casual fans who are going to say stupid things and spill beer everywhere.
-
I'm watching this one at home. Every part of mental being will be there with you all at the game. GBR! As a reminder don't forget that the Women's team is also playing later in the evening after the Men's game is over.

Duquesne is pretty good. BTW, our 89 against them is the most they’ve allowed all year.

In the age of the portal it is very important to have both a strong culture and a coach that can manage high levels of change.

I wonder if this hire will have the added benefit of him being the bridge that would finally get UNMC to group with UNL which in turn would give us a path too return the AAU?

I watched my first Husker basketball game ...

Mine was the BDSC in 1990, my freshman year in the student section, vs current BIG foe MSU. Not only was it my first Nebraska BB game it was my first College BB game ever. Before I went to school at Nebraska I didn't ever consider any other sports there other than Football. I was a huge NBA fan because I grew up in San Antonio and this was just the beginning of the David Robinson era. I used to go to NBA games all the time and saw George Gervin play often. Still one of my favorite players of all time. This was a great time to be a Spurs fan. Anyway, seeing the Huskers play up and close got me hooked instantly. Of course I was lucky, however I never thought this would be the high water mark for seasons. A few notes about that season I remember the most: 1. Losing to Murray State. Murray who? Oh yeah the Murray State team that had Popeye Jones and made the NCAA's. 2. Not being impressed by the Big 10 after we beat Illinois (neutral), MSU (home), and Wisconsin (away). 3. The student section! -

I'm just going to leave this here

This right here! While this team was always better than the sum of it's parts, our game against Illinois clearly showed that we need to upgrade some of those parts. I think at a minimum we are going to take 3 from the TP. As mentioned there are several guys on this team that we need to re-recruit. Would be surprised if this didn't return: Mast Gary Williams Lawrence (he has really elevated his game and will play a significant role next season) Hoiberg (Not on scholarship, but still worth mentioning) Probably need to re-recruit if we want to keep them. Jacobson Diop Rice High chance of leaving: Wilcher Ulis is a big question mark. His legal issues need to be resolved. Potential transfers: Keita Lloyd In-coming freshman: JANKOWSKI FRAGER

No matter what you think about Trevor Baur you should watch his youtube video's about his time playing baseball in Japan during the 2023 season. -

Now that you've brought it up I'm going to be looking for it. Agree about Danny, although he was also immensely likeable. Don't know if that is the case with Underwood? Danny is the sort of Northeastern personality that Nebraskan's really liked. Not sure if it was the accent, how he dressed or how outgoing he was or a combination. I'm going to be paying very close attention to Brad today. Our basketball program has not won much over the years but I've always liked the character of all our coaches from Moe to Nee to Fred and everyone in between. I've often felt bad for them as it seems like coaching at Nebraska is a career killer. When we win our 1st NCAA tournament game, and we are winning our first NCAA tournament game this season, I'm going to think of all of those guys. I imagine twitter will be blowing up with congratulations by lots of former players and coaches. FYI, I know there where more before Moe, however before 1984, growing up in San Antonio, I didn't even know we had a basketball program. -

Interesting take. I've watched very few Illinois games over the years and he sticks out the way Izzo does in that he is always working the refs. -

KSU fans used to use the abbreviation for Bill Snyder as in HCBS, back in the day. -

It should not go unnoticed that during our 17-0 run we were playing suffocating defense. At no point did we have a defensive breakdown. Absolutely brilliant coaching by HCFH! HCFH stayed with the hot hands in Bryce and KT. Why didn’t we go to the rim much in this game, because we didn’t have to. When did we go to the rim, in the second half when we are up by 20 and IU was standing flat footed guarding against the 3. We opportunistically would run and then walk the ball up the court. We burned clock in the second half while still scoring 43. We have broken the Hoosiers. After the game, and as it was ending we acted like this was just step one. There was barely any celebration. This looked like a team on a mission. JA, JG, RM did some serious work on boards. Those whole weekend has been set up for us to go to the Championship and broken exactly how I wanted it to break. -
Potential 8/9 seed vs 1 seed in the second round.... I watched parts of UConn and Houston play and oh my those 2 teams are really good. I mean really really good. I don't want any part of those 2 teams. I haven't watched either NCarolina or Tennessee play so maybe others can chime in. We need to win some games and move out of the 8/9 seed. I'm now convinced there is no way we end up as a 10 seed. Right now I think we are a high 9 low 8 seed no matter what we do in the BTT. 2 wins I think would for sure move us to a 7 seed with an outside chance of 1 win moving ups up to a 7 provided we play Illinois in the semi-finals and the game is close. I'm not convinced that winning the BTT would move us any higher than a 7. I think that everybody has their mind made up on us as far as seeding goes.
-
In years past I'd miss a game because in the BTT because of my son playing a baseball game. This year, if we make the championship I'll miss that as I'm going to be in GI with my son as he's competing in NE USA HS State wrestling tournament (3/17). He also has another tournament the following weekend in Kearney at Heartland HS State wrestling tournament (3/23). Had to make a deal with my wife for her to take him to Heartland if we end up playing the Thur/Sat schedule. No way I'm missing our second round game, and yes we will be playing a second round game.

Sounds about right. I would like to add that there is NIL and then there is extra's that the athlete can do on their own without fear of the NCAA comming down on them, such as brand endorsements, advertisements, etc. plus plus plus social media. This is a big one as it allows athletes to profit directly off of the money they earn from their social media. There is a D2 wrestler that I follow, maybe I've mentioned him before, Cayden Henschel who has big Youtube channel where he does a lot of brand sponsorships. Angel Reese has a monster size Instagram presence. One of the best parts of NIL is now these athletes get to earn money off of their name. Edited to Add More Context: There are going to be players who aren't as focused on getting a huge NIL deal but rather they are thinking about their future and know that they can get a ton of exposure in a State like Nebraska at the flagship University. That exposure could be to increase social media presence, get into businesses. The sky is literally the limit. I'm actually working on this right now with my son as he's a sophomore in HS and he wrestles. He did play on the freshman baseball team at HS as well, but has since quit so he can focus solely on wrestling. He wants to go to college. He's not a D1/D2 level, however we believe he can go to D3/NAIA, where scholarships and NIL are minimal to non-existent at best. Because of his unique circumstances, of which I don't want elaborate on yet, he has the potential to capitalize on that. He can document his struggles, successes, college choices, etc.
