UCLA (11-2) VS. Nebraska (11-2) Game Thread

It’s a fun Husker team against a top 15 opponent on a Saturday. It’d be cool to see them come back and be recognized. Has Petteway been back in the last 10 years? I don’t remember him doing so. Maybe he’s playing overseas but most former Husker basketball players aren’t busy playing pro basketball. Maybe I’m just too nostalgic. -

It really is too bad we can only get 2 guys from the last decade to come back for the game. -

Southern had to have been one of the worst shooting teams to step foot inside PBA. Woof -

I constantly go back and forth on if this team is better this year than last year because of this. I think we’re really going to struggle to score in the Big Ten because we are not a very good shooting team. I think we are a much better defensive and rebounding team but offensively we miss the role players who could shoot the ball like Wilcher and Lawrence. Hoiberg needs to at least be a threat to shoot the ball in the half court. I have no stats to back this up but it feels like our starting lineup is one of our worst offensive lineups, which makes me very nervous to start games. Meah is getting better, but he could be a force if he was a little tougher. Neither of these games this tournament have been all that encouraging but we’ll take the wins. I wish Janowski was a little further along because he fills it up in warmups -

I wonder how far away Janowski was from playing this year. He can really shoot in warmups and another shooter would be so helpful. He probably needed a year in a college weight lifting program -

Can someone decipher what Loenser says at 5:41? Is it something like “We’re better. Don’t let them back in the game”? -
Have any of our former players committed anywhere else yet? The only thing I’ve seen was that tweet about who has contacted Eli Rice a few weeks ago
-
Robin has already said he expects Frager to redshirt next year. Rice would have been a consistent role player next year.

Of the 8 teams in Memphis yesterday, the only teams Nebraska was more athletic than was Colgate and Longwood. It was jarring seeing Baylor warm up. They don’t look like us. It’s why the B1G rarely does well in the tournament

Echo this. Much more variety this morning but last night was all Nebraska -

TV Teddy Valentine was posted up at the Tin Roof last night (where a ton of Husker fans were). I don’t really care about that but what was funny was he was in his full ref warmup jumpsuit while doing it. -

Best route to get there if you’re driving? I’ve seen it both ways but seems like you want to go through St Louis even though maps says it’s 15 minutes further. -
I need a Texas A&M scout report, pronto!

Does Kenpom or Torvik have a predicted score? Torvik is brutally slow for me right now -
I’d guess we’re the second session? The other Memphis bracket does not have nearly as exciting of matchups.
-
Did all the bid stealers affect us at all? Intuitively I would guess no since it’s just swapping 11 and 12 seeds but you guys know more than me

That’s one of the most impressive 2 way performances I’ve seen an opponent play against Nebraska. Good thing is there’s almost no other player in the country that can do what Shannon did on both sides. Pretty easy to move on from that one and get excited about next weekend. GBR -
Has Nebraska ever played on Saturday in the Big Ten tournament? They’ve lost Friday both times they had the double bye.
-
Would we rather have Michigan State or Indiana as the 6 seed? Michigan state has no business bring a tournament lock
-
With a win on Sunday the Huskers get a double bye no matter what else happens now, right?
-
I’ve watched better games than this Michigan State and Northwestern game
-
Put your green on tonight. I think we’d rather be the 3 than the 4 seed

Marquette in Indy seems like the best possible scenario unless we’re in Omaha against Kansas IMO
