  1. Ohio State would have been my pick, too. Or Illinois.
  2. Not sure I'd go that far. I'd say he at least knows not to piss off oppressive, communist government where the idea of having an upper hand over a high profile American.
  3. Lawyers told him to shut the hell up. You don't want to piss off China's government.
  4. I expect it will return when the games get real again. I didn't really expect it for the exhibition. It'll have to largely be led by the student section. The rest of the crowd will readily jump in.
  5. The other guy did that, too. I like this guy better, by a lot, actually, but it's all a personal preference thing.
  6. IDK, I think a guy that was a 4 star coming out of high school who "turned down Kansas" is gonna carry a bit higher expectations for most. But if he does what you say, he'll probably settle in somewhere between Glynn and McCray, which is something not a lot of freshmen around here have done.
  7. There's no such rule as "over the back", so don't scream it from the 300 level every time someone on your team gets beat for a rebound.
  8. He was a heckuva WR, IIRC. Can you imagine having Hluchoweckyj and Thorbjarnson on the same team?
  9. It's be great if Allen can settle somewhere between Glynn and Joe McCray's freshmen seasons. That's a big ask for freshmen at Nebraska. Haven't had many that could do it.
  10. That's part of it. It also means they missed a lot of shots. We made 6 more while attempting 15 fewer. Finish at the rim in the first half and this is a 40 point laugher. We haven't done that in a while.
  11. Northwood took a lot of shots.
  12. NU - 91* EI - 61 non-con - 10 total - 21 *operating under the assumption Watson will play.
  13. Man, that sucks. He was only 41. Praying for his family. http://fremonttribune.com/news/local/obituaries/donald-halladay/article_383516d6-671a-5ccb-b2a8-8428f0e13b33.html
  14. Here's a fun fact: NU doesn't have any conference home games over Christmas break, but two road games when they travel to Northwestern and Purdue. Can't expect there to be a ton of atmosphere at Allstate Arena for the NW game. I'd expect it will still be a decent environment in West Lafayette, but I honestly have no idea. Also, it's kinda bad timing for the Wildcats to be playing off campus now that their games will be all the rage. Really curious to see if this has any impact on them this season. Welsh-Ryan Arena would have been a vipers den this year.
  15. I'm still holding out hope for a red version of the "Huskers" unis we've seen the past couple years.
  16. - I'm guessing the #Nebrasketball alarmists will be all hot and bothered about the first half. It wasn't pretty to be sure, but Northwood banked in 3 threes (and airballed a free throw) and we left at least 14 points at the rim. Both of those trends reversed in the 2nd half. - Northwood's big run came with some dudes on the floor we won't see again til next year's exhibition. - Thomas Allen can shoot it. - Palmer makes the game look easy. - Big question I have is who is gonna lead this team when Watson's not on the floor? I don't know why he was out today, but I'm didn't like what I saw sans Watson. - Copeland still has some rust to shake off. His finger roll game wasn't pretty tonight. - Jordy didn't look good at all... - Maybe it was just a product of them taking so many 3's and it resulted in a bunch of long rebounds, but the Husker rebounding effort was pretty atrocious. - Tanner is scrappy on the boards. He can add value there, but his offensive game has a long way to go. - We're still super uncreative in our in-bounds plays. - If the Huskers are gonna make a jump this year, they need to be the scrappy team. Tonight, that was clearly Northwood. They got a few loose balls and rebounds on that alone. - I like that they had to fight through a little adversity in games like this. Hopefully it will serve as a wake-up call. - I like that they wore their red unis. They should do that more often at PBA. - I'm ready to get this thing going for reals on Saturday. I think most of what I'd heard about this team was confirmed. They're gonna be able to do some things offensively and they're gonna get out and run a bit. They've got a ways to go on defense and special teams.
  17. All in due time.
  18. You can get the ball rolling on all of these things before the job is actually open. Of Moos is worth everything they're paying him, he won't be caught off guard and the wheels are already in motion.
  19. Heard on Sharp and Benning yesterday Mitchell may end up at Brewster.
  20. I think Rutgers will be the worst team in the big ten until it's proven otherwise.
  21. ...Sounds like Tim Miles record...
  22. I think there's probably more leeway for that kind of think at the women's games. They're typically a little more laid back. And last night's setting was just fine for that kind of thing. Will be interesting to see how he evolves and polishes his game throughout the season.
  23. He's a PA guy. I'm not sure we've ever had one at NU that I've ever had a strong opinion about...
