  1. Bracket Matrix hasn't been updated since Saturday morning. Curious to see where we end up after his next update. Should be soon, I'd think.
  2. #HateWillNeverWin That was largely a fun game. The video before the game was pretty well done. I thought it set the right tone. Crowd seemed fully supportive. Loved to see that. I thought the energy and focus they came out with to start the game was as good as it had been all year. I think, for at least that moment, they were as unified a group as they've been in a while. It's really difficult to sustain that level of energy throughout, however, so as great as that 22-4 start was, they probably over exerted a bit. They basically held them at arms length the rest of the night. Roby finally landed the monster slam! The place came unglued. I probably was more reserved than I should have been, I just assumed he'd get one of those eventually. Frankly, we did some dynamic things that I haven't seen from a Nebrasketball team in a really long time. Those first 10 minutes of the game were a ton of fun. We're really hot or cold from 3, huh? We had a couple of wide open looks that if we hit them, break the game wiiiiiiide open. Loved the spark Duby gave us. He only played a handful of minutes, but the ones he did play were impactful. James got smacked in the face early in the game. Never really seemed himself. Thought Glynn was really good today, too. His stat line may not fully reflect that. That was Roby's first double-double since the season opener. Also the first time he's scored in double figures in back-to-back games since the first two games of the year. Man, he was good today. Jordy did some nice things. He's getting better around the rim, but if he puts the ball on the floor at all, he's toast. Also, he needs to get some stick 'em on those paws. I like the effort he brought today, though. Thought he was really disruptive on defense for the Rutgers drivers. That was our third sweep of the season. We've got a chance for one more. And if not for letting one slip vs. PSU, we could have been in position to sweep all of our double plays. I honestly never really expected to see an NU team sit at 10-4 in conference play. This is a blast. Let's keep this thing rolling! Thought the crowd was mostly good. I expect it to be great on Tuesday. Le't see if we can sell it out again! That's all I've got for now.
  3. I agree. I don't like the idea of Penn St. on the 5 line at all. Even if we do somehow collapse down to the 5, I'd hope that it's Michigan that ends up in the 4. But that said, it would take a lot for NU to fall below the 4 seed.
  4. It would actually take a decent collapse by NU to finish below the 4 line. I'm not concerned about Michigan.
  5. I want to keep Michigan right where they're at. With their schedule down the stretch, I think they'll pick up at least one more, though.

  7. Interesting. This must have been before the adidas contract. We wore the reds for legends weekend. No reason we can't do it again. We should do it more often, IMO. Also, I wouldn't have a little more creativity with our road options.
  8. I'm not overly concerned about any of the home games, other than maybe Penn St. Rutgers doesn't really have the athletes to match up with NU. That's not to say something stranget can't happen, it could, but I don't expect them to put up too much of a fight. They've really been trending in a bad way on the road since their visit to Michigan St. The game that's a little scary to me is Illinois.
  9. Why are they using those locations?
  10. What took you so long? I do this every summer, just in case. Or maybe out of boredom.
  11. I've got family in Dallas. I'm pulling for that one. You'd get a lot of Husker fans there, too.
  12. This is actually where I'm at, too.
  13. Who are you and what have you done with Pimp?
  14. Eh, those were all finals week situations.
  15. Thoughts during the game. A bit of a stream of consciousness effort today. Pregame: Michigan lost. Grrrrr…. No Amir Coffey. Hopefully that’s a break NU can take advantage of. 1st Half: That was the exact start I was afraid of. Not sure what Watson was doing on that first possession. He got a wide open look and just biffed it. Minnesota came out on fire, which I was a little worried about. I liked the time out and response, though. A nice 11-2 run to respond was really encouraging. Copeland was running the floor really hard. Loved seeing that. Washington is gonna be a good player. It’s fun when we hit from 3. Jordy just can’t handle the ball. At all. Through the under 8 timeout, NU looks like the fresher team. And they’re playing with the urgency that a team on the bubble should play with. Huskers went on a 37-15 run after falling behind 7-0 to start the game. Roby got another #mansizedrebound according to Mr. Bardo. Palmer takes it to the hole like Lance Jeter used to do. I love watching Thomas Allen shoot the basketball. That 3 by Watson with about 30 seconds left was the worst shot we took in the half. Of course Washington hit that 3 at the end of the half… All-in-all, I’ll take that half, but that wasn’t a great end to it. If NU keeps playing hard in the 2nd, they’ll be fine. 2nd Half: The break seems to have done Gill some good. Minnesota came out of the gates attacking. We’ll see if they can maintain it. I’m skeptical. The Watson to Roby lob was a work of art! JPJ was short on a few free throws tonight. Didn’t really expect that. The bulk of that run by Minnesota to get back in the game was with Watson, JPJ and Cope on the bench. Foul trouble for JPJ is problematic. I like how Roby attacks after grabbing the rebound. The Pitino technical foul killed all their momentum. NU went on a lightning quick 6 point spurt after that. Evidently Pavelka called Pitino a “jack wagon” on the broadcast. lol We had some timely offensive rebounds. Taylor hit a couple of clutch shots, too. I don’t know how Washington hit that shot around Roby. Circus. If he can find an outside shot, he’ll be impossible to guard. He almost is already. I know they shot the ball fairly well, but 21 attempts from 3 is too many. WOW! What a fortunate shot from Taylor on that broken possession. Huge play! Roby with all the dunks! They’re breaking the press a lot better now than they did in November. NU had an answer for every Gopher challenge. Really impressive, actually. To get 93 with the foul trouble JPJ was fighting is pretty impressive.

  17. If Nebraska keeps winning, Michigan can't catch them. I don't think Michigan will win out, so even if we drop one, Michigan still probably doesn't catch us. That's the goal the rest of the way. Just up to us to do it.
  18. Terry Hutchens. Had them at #22. He covers Indiana.
  19. The week off isn't the crazy part. Every team should get a bye in their schedule. This is essentially ours. It's not unreasonable to have a week off in the middle of a conference schedule. What's asinine is the 4 games in 8 days.
  20. Wonder what happened for him to play those two games and then sit out again. But if Coffey is out, too, NU really should go in there and do their thing.
  21. He played in the two games before that, though.
  22. I don't think that's what it means. He had them in the field, now they're not. That "next four out" list looks like it's ordered by closest to the field to me. I think they're still a few spots ahead of us according to him.
  23. Penn St. isn't that far away from the bubble with more opportunities for good wins that we don't have.
  24. If you fire him after making it to the Sweet 16, you better be bringing in Bill Self.
