  1. Eh, we'll see. They lobbied to not play St. John's in the Gavitt Games, too.
  2. Those are different. We won't be in a situation where if we lose we play a 300 rpi team and if we win we play a 30 rpi team. Hopefully we see more opponents like Yale and less like Alcorn St. in those other games, though... The 2015 and 2016 sub-games were better than last years.
  3. It also means no Marist-esque games. Probably.
  4. It wouldn't have bothered me to play one of those games. The killer ended being the UCF loss, though. We need to hope Missouri St. doesn't fall off the table if we end up facing them. They were 135 this year. They just fired their coach and 4 of their top 6 were seniors.
  5. I had someone preiently say to me after the KU game "Hope that one doesn't matter come March..." Some saw it as a pretty significant impact game way back then. And based on Coach Miles' reaction in the post game, he did, too.
  6. I'm aware of that. Don't think those schools are any more or less difficult to get into than NU. If he's gonna be eligible, NU should be in on that conversation.
  7. If schools like NC State, Rutgers and Wichita are interested, the Huskers should be too.
  8. I'm not conceding anything to anyone at PBA this year.
  9. MTSU was in the 10-11 seed range before the loss. Might have been in (still might be) if they lose in the championship game.
  10. Marshall beat Middle Tennessee.
  11. This was the game we haven’t seen from NU all year, or at least in a while. They really seemed like they wilted under the pressure. They played tight, not like this was an opportunity. I was really hoping they’d take this opportunity by the throat and seize it. Michigan was the team that played like that. They clearly were the aggressor and just dominated from start to finish. Michigan smothered everything the Huskers tried to do. And NU really was poor defensively. As bad as we’ve seen in a while. There was no flow offensively and when they did get something going, Michigan had an answer every time. NU could never get any traction. Michigan did the things they didn’t do in Lincoln. Seemed like they couldn’t miss from deep, the really smothered NU’s attempts to get to the rim. The Huskers couldn’t hit their shots, either. This was a game we’ve seen over and over and over again over the year. Really hoped we wouldn’t see it again this season. I don’t have much else to say. I’m not expecting anything on Selection Sunday. Guess we’ll get a game or two at PBA in the NIT.
  12. Except they've said over and over they don't look at at least two of those factors...
  13. I've thought since Wisconsin advanced, they'd give MSU all they could handle.
  14. You're probably right on that one.
  15. Syracuse and UCLA have overall resumes better (on paper) than NU. Compare them side by side, and it's pretty easy to see, actually. NU needs to win today.
  16. Tim Miles walks up and says "What'll it be, fellas"?
  17. That was on the inbound passer. He missed Huerter coming off the screen. By the time he made the pass, the Wisconsin defender had caught up to the play. Very strange all around.
  18. If the goal is to win the tournament, then, yeah, you want the "worst" possible opponents. If you want to do some work on the resume as well, you want the better opponents. Personally, I'd prefer to get swings at better teams. In all reality, our chances of winning the tournament, even if we do get Iowa and Maryland or Wisconsin are still pretty small and our resume hasn't really been improved at all. I say give me Michigan then let's take a swing at some big dogs.
  19. It's Michael Rappaport, I believe.
  20. I agree. I thought all year they were lacking a Peter Jok.
  21. The Nebrasketball Podcast had a fun interview with Kugs, the other podcast that talks Husker Hoops wrapped up the regular season the other day.
  22. Then you beat Illinois/Iowa and Maryland/Wisconsin and play for a championship. Can't control anyone but yourself.
  23. I've seen it work both ways. Michigan win the tournament from the 8 seed last year.
  24. The question that I have is how much do these bracket wonks take into consideration the eye test? There's way too many games for them to watch all the games. The computers don't put the Huskers in a favorable light, there's no real getting around that. They can certainly help themselves here over the weekend. But Ras has said over, and over, and over, and over and over again that the eye test will factor in. We don't know to what degree, but it will be considered. If that's true, that it's a blend of both, then I have to think NU's in better shape than most twitter pundits are spouting, because the eye test, NU passes that with flying colors. Win a couple games in New York, though, please. The stress is gonna be unbearable otherwise...
  25. It's on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
