Finally. A Small, Little Husker Hoops Fix
uneblinstu replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Optical illusion. The way his knees are bent only makes it look like he's on the line. In reality he's several inches behind it. -
Xavier's had 6 4 stars over the past four years and had the #11 class two years ago. Cincinnati didn't fare as well, but Cronin was more recruiting to his program more than he was recruiting the stars. We'll see how he does at UCLA. Maybe being in the Big East vs. AAC played a factor there, too.
-
It could mean something or it could mean nothing, but Coach A. was on TBL today and said they expect Yvan to contribute right away. They said Cross could contribute this year. Also, called Curtis an elite scorer who could contribute immediately, too.

Samari Curtis is my sleeper for stud status. Maybe not for this year, but next year, he could be the dude.

Not sure that's really fair. Teddy had a rough childhood but wasn't really perceived as a bad character guy, as far as I know. Didn't fit with what Miles was looking for, I probably wouldn't read much more into it than that. -
It's not, but I guess I wouldn't expect much different from anybody going into the season. There's unknown quantities and then there's this.
-
They streamed them on twitter last time. They could do that again. On periscope, perhaps. And Shamus will almost certainly do some sort of post game wrapup. I don't exactly expect Italian news to be covering these.
-
If they can win the first game, I think it's probably likely they get a good game in game two with a shot at a second, which is really all they can hope for.
-
I'll be curious to see when the December B1G games are. In the past, we'd played the Sunday/Tuesday after the B1G title football game. With the CU game on Saturday, I wonder if that will be more like Tuesday/Thursday this year.
-
I don't think we'll get matched up with one of the top teams in game one. CSU or WSU would be nice because it's a bigger name, but those are probably gonna be two pretty bad teams, I expect.
-
It won't be this soft moving forward. Maybe not Kansas (though, I hope we see games like that from time to time...), but you'll see far more challenging schedules as the program develops.
-
It's a relative thing. The way I view reasonable and the way my wife views it are two different things. Neither is necessarily wrong. It's a little annoying that with what's gonna be a bad non-con sked, at least at home, and considering they haven't really done anything on the court yet, that now is the time they raise prices. I'd budgeted for a bit of a bump, but not as big of one as they made.
-
I think the biggest factor in that will be how well we do on the court.
-
Fascinating. The ticket offices were so confident in this being a home game they issued invoices accordingly. Now, they're pulling invoices down to adjust for one less home game. I still think this was the wrong year to increase prices.

I guess for me, the issue isn't about whether or not it's still a "bargain" or not. That's a subjective judgment. It's more that now I have to find $150 in my budget over the next month I wasn't planning on having to come up with.

Final 2018-19 Kenpom: Southern Utah - 273 Southern - 335 South Dakota St. - 92 (but they're a very different program now...) UC-Riverside - 322
-
That's kinda what I'm guessing, too.
-
Without knowing how many games there will be, it looks like mine went up by about $3.50 a ticket. It's gonna be hard to justify the cost beyond this year in a donation area. Might have to see if I can move outside donation zone. ugh

2019-20 Miles v. Hoiberg Roster Comparison
uneblinstu replied to khoock's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
If Miles had come back and Roby too, I would have still really liked our top 4. That back court would have still been really talented. -

If Stevenson is eligible, that's almost certainly the starting 5 I'd predict. Maybe we'll see them in Italy and Cross and/or Yvan are way better than I expect, but I find it unlikely they're gonna be ready to handle a D1/B1G front court from day one. I think we're gonna go "super small" quite a bit. I think, if both stick around, Cross and Yvan are gonna be a nightmare for B1G opponents for years to come, though, just not likely this November. We'll see about February and March. So, to get it down and official, my starting five is: Mack Green Burke Cheatham Stevenson (assuming eligible) If he's not, IDK, who would jump in. If he is, I'd be more than mildy surprised if it's different than this when we play our first game in November. Maybe Curtis is way better than I realize and he starts from his first on campus. Who really knows?

Cam Mack's game reminds me of Andre Woolridge.

I have no idea if that's a fair comp or not, but I loved watching TJ Ford in college. I'd be thrilled if that's close to what we get.
