It's unlikely. There's no rule to say they can't take a team under .500, but there are enough teams out there that would likely be better options than NU that we'd have to get above .500 to really legitimately be considered. It's win the B1G tourney or CBI for us.

Thought there was a really nice turnout. Rowdy crowd. Place exploded when Talley hit the three to go up 11 and on the offensive rebound off the missed free throw. It was a lot of fun. I'll be going back tomorrow.

I miss the schick and nick show. It was goofy but what the 2 shows we have now on 1620 feel the same to me. The morning show is very similar to the afternoon show. They lost the 3 goofiest guys (shick, nick and kugler) and gain 3 relatively serious guys. I really like DB but his seriousness isn't meant for a hosting gig. He is going to have stress problems. I just can't stand the god awful ginger they put on in the afternoon. They should have just put Sharp on the afternoon show and left shick and nick alone. ALthough, DB and Severe would probably be entertaining to hear them argue the whole time. I think Schick still would have taken the ESPN job even if things hadn't been blown up at 1620.

He was also the all-time leading scorer in Iowa history (or was it all time leading 3 point shooter, it was at least one of those...).

So he's qualified now...maybe this was the reason for the commitment date extension and extra visits to Nevada and Charlotte. I'm guessing he's now 'N' and we're just waiting for the Rosenthal tweet to confirm our (my) suspicions. I read it more like this.

I guess my hope is that having another school that plays in a major conference will increase the profile of the sport and more kids take it up in the process. The state will never be a basketball factory, but it should be able to be a sport that can produce 3-5 more players that can play at NU or CU every 5 years or so. That would be progress.

Norm, I don't thing Sam was talking about the first game, just that you could have that sort of an event that weekend.
