Ice bath after win over Purdue

    Wooooooooooooooo!

The watch party at the N-Zone was a lot of fun. They're gonna do it again tomorrow. Glad we get to watch this team one more time.

Don't really need to say much else for this one.

    * Argue if you must, but this is a fun team to watch, a bit ugly at times, but fun. (late nite bar joke can be inserted here)

    * Argue if you must, but this team is now one of the top eight teams in the best flippin conference in the country.

    * If Dylan was sick, I give him an A+ for his effort today.

    * Ray...once again...40 minutes of gutsy, tough, good basketball/

    * I thought Andre played pretty well, unsure why he got only 6 minutes of playing time.

    * Rivers was a bit out of sorts, especially at the beginning.  He is getting beat and he then gets handsy.

    * One can complain aabout Benny, but I thought he played pretty darn well.  His defense at the end was needed!

    * Shavon carried us on his shoulders in the first half.  That burden weighed heavily on him and he became human in the second half.  But excellent game, especially for a non-first team freshman ;)

    * Brandon torks me off at times, and yes, he missed a couple big free throws at the end, but he played a gutsy game.  He played very well and played against two players who were bigger than him and he outplayed both of them.  Good game senior!

We got tooled by these guys on our home court.  We adjusted.  Having Ubes helped, he was certainly a major difference in this game.  But I am proud of these guys.  They could have called the game in and simply go home and bitch and moan.  But they showed up, played a tough game, led or was close to the lead the entire game and pulled off the mild upset.  Great job.

Well, ya know, all those people who couldn't wait for Brandon Ubel to be gone will soon get their wish.  Possibly as soon as tomorrow.  That day they've all been looking forward to.  Hope they enjoy it.  We'll be a lot better off without him.  That way, Vooch can finally get minutes.  <_<

I loved the play where 2 players cut to the basket from the same side after the ball entered the post! Purdue called an early second half time out to try to repair...as they were a man short in how they were playing...with the first man clearing and the second dunking!

this type of coaching reminds me of later Tom Osborne era when you knew he would come out with some new wrinkle to jab the opponent in the second half.

Great to see this from our young coach.

    I know he can coach...

    I think he can recruit...

I believe he will WIN. (but sadly, probably not tomorrow)

It was a great play but from what I saw it wasn't a play. They are running motion and they got defenders across the read line which is an automatic back cut to the basket. The reason they ending up cutting from the same side is that their spacing prior to the cuts was not the best. So it was a mistake that turned into a good play. If you saw Talley's defender almost got back to make a play. If there was proper spacing, one cut and no one around to even give shadow help. Motion offense doesn't teach plays, it teaches people how to play.

Brandon Ubel scores 16 pts, grabs 8 rebounds & dishes 5 assists.  Shavon Shelds scores 19 pts in the 1st 22 min

If NU can play a little better (particularly shooting %) than they did in Lincoln vs. OSU, they'll have an opportunity to be in the game. GBR!
