  1. I love that you can play the bits over each other! I just went bananas with the three "Got it" buttons at the same time! It was awesome!
  2. Tre-vor Men-ke ::clap, clap, clapclapclap::
  3. When I can, I will be providing a grade for Coach Miles' tie.
  4. I dig the reputation points. While putting "+1" as a response to a post was kind of fun for a while, this is a cleaner way to do it. I also like the negative reputation vote...the best part about it is it isn't anonymous.
  5. i disagree. what we are is not exceptional. we're like every other fan base. we have decent people who know and appreciate the sport. and we have a sizable collection of dimwads. this happened to every program in the country the second computers became cheap and stupid people finally figured out how to turn them on. Here is part of the problem though tcp. Compare last years basketball team to this year. Hmmm. We have a new pretty arena, an the program is going to start to win. So, the arena fills up. Let's hope that we do not lay an egg again, if so, the nice new arena will have problems filling up. If you are old enough to remember, the BOB once upon a time, filled to the brim and rocked. Danny had us winning. So again, if we win, the fans will show. Many of us diehards will be there through thick and thin and will lose our voices trying to be part of a win. But many, many more show only when we win, and then stay home with boorish and immature behaivior when we lose. During the end of the Callahan years, there was a photo of my football section in the middle of the 4th quarter of a game we were losing. I was standing a cheering. I was one of only four people left in my entire section. Check out the top of the student section on Saturday. Any bets on whether it is filled or not? I hate to be overly critical, yet this is a sore spot for me. I realized some people have to miss games for numerous reasons. Yet a good number of our so called fans are not true fans. Nope. A fan is there to support a program just like a groom is there to support his bride...through thick and thin, better or worse. Amen. Fanhood should never be as important as marriage.
  6. Which is why we are not the "Greatest Fans in all of Sports" (or whatever the hell the sign says). We're just like every other fan base out there.
  7. But State did get two of the top six. That's got to be worth something. Here's the thing about that, though. Newbill is a guard who benefitted statistically from Frazier being injured. He's not going to probably have the touches with Frazier back that he had with Frazier out. One of them is going to suffer, anyway. It might be Frazier, actually. But you're not going to take their point totals from last year and add them together, in all likelihood, to determine what they'll be scoring this year. But, yes, it's worth something. They have two outstanding guards. Wouldn't say they're both top 6 players in the league, though. That's probably overstating things a bit. But, we'll see. I don't doubt that at all...but having two guys who can get it done at the guard position can help a team make some things happen. If one of them goes down, the other is there to pick up the slack (as he's had to do in the past). Good stuff, Norm!
  8. I am not a sunshine pumper football fan, and I stick around for basketball. I see the basketball program going in the right direction, whereas the football program is becoming irrelevant on a national scale.

  10. And we haven't even hit the "hard" part of the schedule.
  11. That's what I thought he was talking about until I clicked on the vids.
  12. is the sourest of grapesIt's not sour grapes. I said "recruit" as in any player for any sport picking an SEC school over any other program located anywhere in the country. It's a known fact that SEC programs pay/have paid players. I wasn't even speaking in terms of our program and having our prospects choose another school. So, a player choosing an SEC school over any other school in the country (regardless of sport or talent of player) automatically leads you to believe the kid is getting paid? You think it's THAT dirty? Every player in the SEC is getting paid? In every sport? Nope didn't say that either. In fact I said that it probably isn't fair that money and the SEC is brought up. But it does get brought up. Also said that I don't think people on here actually truly believe that money is the sole reason a recruit picks one school over another. Really? You didn't say any player in any sport picking an SEC school was getting paid? Then what exactly did you mean in the above post?

  14. They're not the only ones. Don't fool yourself there.
  15. The Bro is benching the most on the team isn't he? Pretty sure I read that somewhere recently. He has to be in Rigoni territory. Rigoni was lifter of the year for football. Up until last year he was a strength coach for the football team. For a college basketball player, Peltz is really strong. For all human beings, Rigoni is really strong. What's Rigoni doing now? I thought he was still with the strength staff.
  16. I would imagine if this site was cited in any form it would be in the Husker Hoops Central fashion. No worries on that front, methinks.
  17. Maybe high school isn't for him because he can't punctuate sentences yet.
  18. That's what she said. Wow I had to wait a long time for that. I figured somebody would snap back with that within a few minutes. Just like Grandpa.
  19. Have fun tonight, boys!
  20. Hopefully the nature of the guys we'll be playing this year will help keep the offense from being lackluster. I'm assuming we'll have more guys capable of making plays. With that advantage, the offense should look better simply because the talent level of the players will be better.
  21. I couldn't get past four seconds...I could tell that was going to be painful.
  22. Point well taken. Let me just suggest, then, that Creighton will be a good early test for us to see really where we are. Granted it's there this year. But they return basically all of their contributing players from last year except for Echinique. So, Creighton should be a reasonably similar team compared to what they were last year when they blew us out at home. If we go up there and play them close this year, can we assume we've made significant strides? I think that seems fair, Norm. All this said, I'm looking forward to seeing the product Miles puts on the floor this year! Haven't been this excited for NU hoops in some time. I fully expect us to be better, I just don't know of the record will reflect the improvement. Here's to finding out in a matter of a few short months!
  23. Eighteen dunks in game (not counting the contest).
