  1. The first gift you should be someone when you find out they are a Nebraska basketball fan.
  2. They about booted the band for playing that in 1990. That's an old tradition that needs to be brought back.
  3. I'm pretty sure I know one of the words Danny used in that sentence.
  4. Is Butane Cookman in the Hydrocarbon League?
  5. If he roofs as bad as he refs then his clients had better pray for a drought.
  6. Based on the preseason KenPom Rankings, the number of games vs. the range in ranking: Opponent KenPom Ranking # of games 1-10 3 11-20 7 21-30 6 31-50 1 51-70 4 71-100 3 101-150 0 151-200 0 200-300 1 300+ 2 The game-after-game preseason ranking:
  7. Φυκ it, go ahead.
  8. Just when I'm ready to put up another "Owww, My Balls" post, this news comes along and breaks the 130 year trend...
  9. A lot of those years we made up for our lack of shooters with a lack of size and a lack of athleticism.
  10. Matthew Atewe would have been the second coming of Wayman Tisdale if he'd just come to Nebraska. Instead we jinxed his recruitment with a 39 page thread.
  11. I'll call it then (and given my 0% accuracy rate on predictions, I'm feeling pretty confident about this): Teddy, Trey, Yvan, Kobe, Mayen, Banton go to G-league or overseas. Stevenson, Walker, Arop, Emmanuel, Wood transfer. Thor comes back for a fifth year.
  12. Kelly Lively got the start on senior day (even though he had redshirted and was listed as a junior, he was graduating) against Kansas and held up pretty well for the 3 minutes he played. (Side note - the only two losses Kansas had in the month of March that year were to Nebraska.) He still has the single season record for blocked shots at the University of Denver. I happened to see him walking out of a game at PBA a few years ago, and it didn't look like he had gained a pound since the first day he got on campus.
  13. If Ameer Abdullah doesn't fumble a punt the week before against Iowa, that game might have had a different outcome. Two plays after the fumbled punt, Baker blows a knee. So against Wisconsin they have to move Cameron Meredith Baxter Birney inside to tackle, where he had no chance of holding up. The defense overcompensates to try to defend the middle of the field, Melvin Gordon runs wild on the jet sweep, and you know the outcome. With Baker do they have a chance? Maybe. And then Bo goes to Arkansas, doesn't burn the program down when he leaves, we don't hire Mr. Rogers, and who knows what happens.
  14. If he'd stayed here one more year, we'd probably have gone to the final four, and PBA would already be named after him.
  15. Even if true, that Creighton douche bag radio host Matt Perault hated Marshall, so he can't be all bad.
  16. A co-worker (10 years older than me) said that he saw Eddie Van Halen fall down the stairs there. Apparently VH didn't do many shows in the late 70s without getting juiced up first, who knew? My experiences there were much less memorable, but I always liked the place.
  17. As they say in the SEC, if you ain't cheating, you're Vanderbilt.
  18. No one has ever rolled out a lineup where the PG is 3 inches taller than every other guy on the floor, so I say we do it: Banton 6-9 204 So. McGowens 6-4 190 Jr. Thorbjararson 6-6 202 Sr. Allen 6-6 223 Jr. Stevenson 6-6 245 Jr.
  19. I can see it now - in the first round of the expanded tournament we will have a 30 point lead with one minute remaining and the Big Ten will vote at that point to suspend the basketball season, and the game will be called off.
  20. My sympathies, I'm terribly sorry to hear that.
  21. Leavng that game, the guy walking down the street who was right in front of me got an extra treat from the halftime show. He stepped right in a huge pile left by the elephants. I’m guessing he had an unpleasant ride back to the hotel.
  22. When Danny Wuerffel spoke on the field after the game, did he really recite "not the victory but the action, not the goal but the game, in the deed the glory."? That's what I thought he was saying but I couldn't hear very clearly since I was on the field at the time. He lived in Lincoln for a couple years growing up, so it would make sense.
  23. It can be done, football can be played and social distancing measures can be maintained at the same time. I've seen it happen. In 2014 the Nebraska defense showed tremendous discipline in maintaining social distance from Melvin Gordon as he ran for 400 yards.
  24. Actual train wrecks used to be some of the biggest entertainment events that were held in this country. Now we just have the figurative ones on daytime TV and Twitter.
