We brought all 3 Amir Harris
-
Lon has won everywhere and has picked up and left on several occasions. It would cost 2.4 Mil (two years left) to buy Kruger out and he's making 3M. He'd either have to be very unhappy and/or feel like he's going to be run out of town. Seems pretty unlikely. With all due respect to Nagy if you're looking at someone in that mid-major vein aren't there more accomplished guys?

Most places open at 11 am. Not sure if anyone will change hours because of the game.

Craig Smith is making $600k at Utah State and that tops out at $750k. His 5 year deal is worth 3.5M which is what he'd make here in about two years. You'd have to think being paid a lot of money to coach in the B1G would counter Miles getting fired here. It would be disappointing if we hired Smith not because he's not a good coach but because it means we struck out on everyone else

A Small World Nebrasketball Encounter At The Las Vegas Airport
hhcmatt replied to hhcdave's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I didn't recall him at all. Here is the recruiting thread FWIW he was basically a role player for Boise St -
He was gone before you registered for the site. The argument essentially is whether or not we will replace him with someone who is putting up the same results in year 7 and blows up our current team/recruiting in the process.
-
I'm beating this drum because I don't want to be here 5-7 years from now talking about whether or not we need to fire the mid-major/assistant coach we hire and whether what will probably be a new AD (Moos is up in years, they come and go) will be itching to make their name as the man who saves Nebraska basketball by hiring another mid-major coach. Part of the reason we need to get a well established coach is so they can weather an athletic department that seems either uninterested and/or incapable of making this a football/basketball school.

I'm not sure if it was all in a calendar year but Illinois has been pretty bad -

hhcmatt replied to uneblinstu's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Post game notes Nebraska fell to 1-7 against ranked teams this season, including 0-2 vs. top-10 teams this season*-Nana Akenten reached double-figures for the third time this season and first time since Nov. 19 against Missouri State.*-Amir Harris set a career high with eight points, bettering his previous best of six set on two occasions, most recently against Purdue on Saturday. *--Glynn Watson Jr. jumped from 10th to ninth on Nebraska’s career assist chart with his two assists tonight, tying Clifford Scales (354, 1988-91). Watson now has 354 assists.*-James Palmer Jr. saw his streak of 24 straight games in double figures end, as he was held to a season-low seven points. The only other time he didn’t reach double figures was against Missouri State on Nov. 19. *-Michigan shot 55.6 percent, becoming the fourth opponent in the last 54 games to shoot over 50 percent against Nebraska.*- Nebraska committed just seven turnovers tonight, marking the seventh time in nine games the Huskers committed less than 10 turnovers. *-Michigan’s 12 3-pointers in a season high against the Huskers. -
Nebraska (15-13) vs. Michigan (24-4) Game Thread

I should probably write a FAQ about this. The game threads are heated win, lose or draw. If you have something to say about something in a game thread, say it in there. -

Michigan 70 - Nebraska 54 -
Nebraska Cornhuskers (15-13) at #9 Michigan Wolverines (24-4) Date: Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019 Time: 6pm CST Arena: Crisler Center Broadcast: ESPN Courtesy of @HuskerHoops Michigan Info Head Coach: John BeileinLocation: Ann Arbor, MIConference: B1GNickname: Wolverines Shirt not to wear: Yellow, Blue, Nike Last time out: Lost to Michigan St. Typical Rotation Depth: 7+ Line: Michigan by 12 Tempo: Slow and methodical Fun Fact: Michigan plays less bench minutes than Nebraska Player to watch: Ignas Brazdeikis Losing Mo Wagner to the NBA was a big deal but Freshman sensation "Iggy" has taken a lot of those minutes at the 4 while Teske now starts at the 5. Brazdeikis is a 37% 3pt shooter and and the team's leading scorer. This Michigan team doesn't get to the line a lot but Iggy does at a decent clip would could be very bad for us trying to keep Roby on the court. KenPom Helps explain the Roster PG SG SF PF C Pct 1 3 Zavier Simpson 6-0 190 Jr 2 Jordan Poole 6-5 195 So 1 Charles Matthews 6-6 205 Sr 13 Ignas Brazdeikis 6-7 215 Fr 15 Jon Teske 7-1 260 Jr 38.1 While they still shoot a lot of them, this is the least heavy 3pt shooting team Beilein has run since 2015 Charles Matthews is the 5 star version of James Palmer that doesn't dominate the shots in the offense Poole is probably their most effective inside/outside scorer Teske is capable of making 3s, doesn't turn the ball over, good rim protector Simpson dominates the ball handling and Nebraska would be better off turning him into a scorer instead of a distrubutor 6'7" So Isaiah Livers is a talented inside/outside scorer who fills in at the post and would start for a lot of B1G teams So Eli Brooks is guard depth The Skinny: This is Michigan at home on senior night after losing to Michigan St at home. They might be hungover from the loss but more than likely they will be highly motivated. Michigan's offense has struggled a bit lately but Nebraska's defense hasn't been there on the road for most of the conference. The bigger concern for this Nebraska team is the elite defense of Michigan. Probably the biggest difference between the Wolverines and teams like Mich St, Texas Tech, etc is that Michigan is taking away the 3, not running a pack. They also do so without fouling so they'll give you all the mid-range 2s you care to miss. Nebraska has had five days to prepare and zero expectations which works against a lot of teams but doubtful against this buzz saw. Look for the Huskers to struggle to score 50 tonight. Prediction: Michigan 70 - Nebraska 54 View full article

If Scott Frost needs a bowl of exactly 500 red M&Ms before each football game does he or does he not get that?
-
I don't disagree with this statement; I bring it up because I'm talking about changing how we handle things in the future here based on what we've seen in the past and changing the coach isn't the only thing.
-
If you tell this story that Miles needs this guy, the typical reaction is 'he's the coach, he should be able to hand it' You add on that John Cook was doing the same thing and then it's like 'Oh, it's probably ok then' If Scott Frost came in and wanted this guy is there any doubt that it happens. In some regards Miles is the guy who has to go because he is in such an untenable position. This is also the argument for why you can't bring in a mid-major/assistant because 'this is how we do it at Nebraska' is going to rear it's head and it's some of our problem.
