Just me looking at things today Mack is almost certainly gone but it's technically not impossible for him to be back. There is also the possibility that he could be ineligible if he hires an agent. Seems like Thor and Yvan will return. It's possible that guys who have verbally committed here might decide to uncommit. It's possible that guys who redshirted last year could then decide to transfer. This part of our roster seems pretty solid. That leaves Cross, Arop, and Easley as any of them could decide this isn't the place for them or they could have coaches tell them they should think about playing somewhere else. Zero idea what any of these guys might do but just wanted to lay it all out there. ATM we're at one open spot. If Mack is indeed gone, it's 2.

Don't know about the rest of you..but any time we can renew a meeting between the Huskers and anyone the Big 8 (outside of Colorado and Mizzou) I'm excited! https://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/mens-basketball/nebraska-kansas-state-to-renew-basketball-series-later-this-year/article_c9b6f46d-61e0-5f17-b229-9e62ae579e23.html

Read a preview about South Alabama's coach Richie Riley and he was described as Hoiberg-esque in terms of attracting transfers. I think he'll do well there.
-
One of the discouraging things about this year was that his roster was flipping every year. I guess we'll see what happens when we have foundation as we will at least have a core set of players that know how this is supposed to work

If you have visions of a towel you're thinking of Bill Walker
-
His algorithm doesn't have Stevenson or Walker in the top 10 players for Nebraska.

Lowest end of the year ranking in KenPom history even after 2000 Danny Nee was added

I'll let him know

A new standard of futility!

Maybe the water is better in Bettendorf, Iowa where he is from

He might be. Would Burke have taken so many shots if we had more scoring options? Webster's FT and 3pt numbers indicate he's easily a better shooter than Burke but the drive for contact isn't there. I don't think we need Webster to drive and get fouled though...if he's handling the ball he needs to drive and make a good decision.

I guess I hadn't considered that another summer of Hoiberg and his 'ability to make shots better' would have fixed all the damage done by Miles and his 'ability to make shots worse' because that seems silly.

https://watchstadium.com/top-20-college-basketball-transfers-who-can-play-in-2020-21-03-24-2020/ Seems like a guy who we could rely on to take a tough shot with a low shot clock or the game on the line. Also seems like a guy who could drive Hoiberg nuts taking low percentage shots.
-
To me the surprising thing when looking at Burke's stats was his low assist% compared to his days at Robert Morris. I think he would have fit more with Miles' dribble drive type offense and him out front on a 1-3-1 would have been pretty good as well.

hhcmatt replied to thrasher31's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
For the sake of public good, I will air high-5 myself for guessing he would stay in 2021. -
Hope they're staying at least 6 feet apart in there

Live shot of the coaches working the phones -
The whole team went through a shooting slump in 2002-03.

Visually, you could see him making difficult passes to get teammates an easy bucket. Statistically he was third on the team behind Mack and Green, PGs, in assist %. Him at the 4 when he's not trying to bait a slow center out of the paint might naturally rein in his shot. We also might coach him down a bit with better options. Feels like he's playing major minutes between the 4 and 5 next year assuming he's here (after last year I'm not going to assume anyone except Thor will be here this year )

Hoiberg can teach getting a better shot. I'm not sure that we can definitely say he can teach guys to make shots at a higher rate. If Walker comes out shooting 60% from the line (check his previous numbers at your own risk), then I'll become a believer.

Grill N SZN?

Cross took all those 3s because they gave him the green light. The guy is a post player who can handle the ball, shoot from outside, has good court vision, and has an aggressive scoring mentality. Feels like if he did transfer it's because he wasn't happy, not Nebraska
