  1. Nebraska Cornhuskers (5-7) vs Kennesaw St Owls (4-7) Date: Wednesday, Dec 22, 2021 Time: 6:30 pm Arena: PBA Broadcast: ESPNU Kennesaw St Info Head Coach: Amir Abdur-RahimLocation: Manhattan, KSConference: Big 12Nickname: Owls Mascot: Scrappy the Owl Shirt not to wear: Hooter Last time out: Lost to Samford Line: Nebraska by 13 Typical Rotation Depth: 10+ KenPom rank: 268 Other: First ever meeting between these two teams. Nebraska is 7-0 all time vs ASUN opponents Head coach Amir Abdur-Rahim is the brother of former NBA player Shareef Abdur-Rahim Kennesaw State has lost 48! consecutive road games dating back to Feb of 2018. Thanks @BjoeHusker Halftime: Red Panda Player to watch: Chris Youngblood The 6'4" wing is the Owl's leading scorer, shooting 38% from 3. Also leads the team in rebounds. Player to watch: Terrell Burden The lightning quick 5'10" PG has 58 FT attempts on the season, roughly what Alonzo Verge has done. Player to watch: Spencer Rodgers The Owl's second leading scorer is a volume shooter UNL Game Notes Probable starters for Nebraska 1 Alonzo Verge G 6-3 30 Keisei Tominaga G 6-2 5 Bryce McGowens G 6-7 11 Lat Mayen F 6-9 13 Derrick Walker F 6-9 Bench 23 Keon Edwards G 6-7 0 C.J. This, in addition to 2 other terrible years, has finally led to ground breaking realizations that maybe this team shouldn't shoot so many threes and maybe this team shouldn't just take any shot without consequence. It shouldn't take your home grown audibly groaning to get there, but here we are. Kennesaw St isn't a good team. I don't say this because I think Nebraska will waltz their way to victory; I say this because relative to all other D-1 schools this isn't a good team. Really there shouldn't be much of a chance for various Huskers to get pulled for bad shots because they should absolutely be able to shred the paint for layups or FTs. One thing that Hoiberg noted about trying to install a new offense vs Kansas St was that their ball pressure completely disrupted it; this likely won't be an issue with the Owls as that is not their style. Nebraska wins this one. For the sake of everyone, let's hope that I'm not wrong and that it's not a struggle. Prediction: Nebraska 83 - Kennesaw St 68 View full article
  2. The Washington Generals of D-1 is EXACTLY what we need!
  3. Both teams played like they were ready for Christmas vacation at the end. Wyoming did a fine job of overcoming the pressure and working it inside but too much Jaz, Izzy, and Stewart today for Nebraska.
  4. Both teams cooled down but Nebraska extended the lead. Stewart having a day.
  5. Red Panda with issues today. Couldn't land the 5 bowl
  6. Nebraska hits a 3 at the first quarter buzzer to go up 23-20. Wyoming committed to working it inside and hitting from outside
  7. It's a snickerdoodle sort of thread today
  8. I'll be there again. Thanks @Bugeaters1!
  9. This is one of these deals where the personality is seen through the prism of results. We're winning and people are gushing over Fred's cool demeanor.
  10. That all depends on whether he's fired, whether he resigns, whether he is hired by another college basketball team, or whether he's hired by a pro team. Whatever that number is likely dictates what happens next. If it boils down to having to pay $12 mil, I'd assume we're going to see how year 4 works out.
  11. Where is Mike'l Severe going?
  12. I'd be more surprised than not surprised if he was still the coach next year. I'd have a similar feeling if I was wondering about our odds of finishing over .500 next year. It's an unfortunate reality because the flipside of hiring a new coach is that you're just going through a rebuild with a different guy. Death or Bunga Bunga?
  13. I'll see her twice as I'm going to both!
  14. In a vacuum I certainly agree with this. We had Hoiberg on the hook ready to reel in. As someone who appreciated what Miles brought to this program I certainly thought this would be a move up and given the choice would take Hoiberg. That being said I would like to take issue with the 'cupboard was bare' argument that people like to trot out with Miles now three years later. Even if you aren't sold on Burke and Green performing better in his system or that he doesn't somehow add more pieces in this transfer crazy world, isn't it inevitable that after 3 years he would have built something in the range of decent to good? Cheese and rice the guy at least possessed a clue of how to build and guide a team. Hopefully our next coach will as well.
  15. Program building as usual
  16. Raptors hit with Covid, Banton included
  17. I had forgotten that Ed had 4 fouls in 7 minutes Box Score
  18. It's not what you're saying, it's how you're saying it. It can be off-putting.
  19. The entire team is shooting at a worse percentage than Nebraska Kevin Cross thus far
  20. I figured but UNL finally confirmed it.
  21. There is no reason we shouldn't be able to pound the ball inside and selectively shoot our 20 or so 3pt shots
  22. How to say we're going to stop Bryce McGowens from taking 27 foot 3pt shots without saying that we're going to stop Bryce McGowens from taking 27 foot 3pt shots
  23. It's because you post like someone polishing a car with sandpaper
  24. Some tire fires burn for years
  25. Been to all the games, planning to go to all the other games
