Marquette played that way last year: one of the fastest offenses in D-1 paired with defense that would slow down other teams.

Looks like he took his finals and then immediately got on a plane.

I can get behind EB's nickname being 'The Band'

Couple of small lakes west of Valley City. People refer to them as sloughs though they'd be decent sized Nebraska lakes. We had a guide and initially we were going to Devil's lake until they basically got flooded out and changed it up.

2022 off-season moves: Hoiberg vs. Frost

The big key is whether or not Griesel can make his teammates better. Verge often times struggled to beyond Walker until the end of the season.

Caught our limit in walleye both days and northern pike in 1. I caught a 32 in pike and my dad caught a 28 in. walleye. I think between the 4 of us we caught 40 fish per day and thus released a bunch back. Lots of fun, hadn't been fishing up north like that in 30 years.

I know we had Bryce and Verge putting up a lot of points last year really it was Walker and CJ keeping us from yet another offensive efficiency year worse than the first year of Tim Miles. If all the other new guys just have to force up bad shots all season most night it shouldn't be worse then anything else we've seen during the Hoiberg era.

Maybe if his name was Piedmontese Bilew

Bandoumel is no star but he's a solid guard you can roll out there every single game for as many minutes as you need. With these last two transfers all of a sudden I can put together a starting lineup that doesn't involve a guy who has never played D-1 basketball before. In terms of having a guy who can defend and knock down 3s, he's as good as a Trey McGowen's replacement we might find. Trey has about 15 lbs on Bandoumel so the size isn't quite there. What I'd hope between EB's better KenPom numbers and reading some fans wanting EB to come back that he has the basketball IQ and feel that Trey at times seemed to lack.

No joke, I was fishing for walleye and pikes in North Dakota

i'll circle back on this on Thursday as i'm on vacation. GBR!

DONU should have kicked in the money they saved with Fred's contract renegotiation
-
I hope he has a great career starting this year!

A lot of times you can recruit a kid by saying we need your help to get better. Today we just saw what happens when you can't land a guy who would be happy to come here because realistically the FH era has been a trainwreck and there is no guarantee it can or will improve.

Good players can be high maintenance. One of the points to hiring Fred Hoiberg is that he should have the gravitas to handle personalities as needed. Otherwise we might as well save some money by hiring some Pat Chambers type and try to make the NIT this decade.

Assuming that Trey graduates, he'd be able to grad transfer without sitting a year if that's what he wanted.

Did NIL render Matt Abdelmassih superfluous?
hhcmatt replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Generally speaking the answer is no. Assuming that one wants to acquire players with NIL deals/money as an incentive, one still needs to build a relationship with a future recruit. -
Add this to the plus column of NIL

You can't just 'cut' a guy who signed here as a freshman. Not sure if that applies to someone like Tominaga who was a transfer.
-
He very well might end up somewhere else but it's legit real.
-
Let's say the following three things happen - Mayen and/or McGowens want to play another year - Scheierman picks Nebraska - No other scholarship players leave We could essentially cut Mayen and/or McGowens and they would have to find another school. If it's a business, it's a business.
-
What if you're right?

NIL is keeping guys who might normally go pro somewhere in college
