  1. Big lefty from out east. Couldn't shoot a lick. Constantly injured. Worked his way into the rotation and then got the starting spot after Thomas Allen's season ended. Was key in that big Iowa win where Thor blocked the shot at the end, which was his last game as a Husker as he was injured. Ended up at GW where it looks like he never got healthy.
  2. Oh I certainly think MA had a lot to do with that. However then Loesner gets here and his name pops up everywhere so I don't know if Gates was out just as much on the down low or what.
  3. Worth noting that Zeigler was recruiting him at Miss St
  4. At the very least they're instagram buds
  5. Givony sees a lot of international ball so this is noteworthy praise.
  6. We have offered.
  7. Besides Zeigler having different recruiting areas and head coaching experience, I feel like he'll have trouble duplicating Gates' 'recruiting coach who doesn't go out to recruit' vibe.
  8. I'd say that any B1G footprint guy he was in on at Mississippi St we have a decent shot at. The only overlapping recruit I could find was Braelon Green. Not sure how much mutual interest there is atm with us already having Chase Clemmons signed.
  9. Zieger typically has been a frontcourt coach so we'll see who coaches where this year.
  10. I'd say there is a good chance at an announcement today.
  11. The guy I'm hearing is Ernie Zeigler. You might remember that name from when he was the coach at Central Michigan in 2011-12 as they came to play in the Bob during Doc's last year. At the time he was coaching his son Trey. Otherwise he's been an assistant under Ben Howland in three different places, most recently Mississippi St. (Ironically, David Anwar is one assistant who replaced him) He's known as a recruiter so it's a fairly high profile grab at this point if that's the hire.
  12. Hearing that vacation has something to do with the delay in an announcement. I guess good thing we had the Rice commitment all queued up.
  13. Yeah, tough to know what we have here as we either caught him just having a good weekend or perhaps caught a guy just starting to reach his potential. Guy might end up turning into an impact freshman thanks to prep school or he might be the next Karrington Davis (spent an injured year playing for Monteverde Academy). 6'7" and can shoot is our type of lottery ticket though.
  14. Can confirm that Coach Bud is sticking to volleyball https://huskers.com/staff-directory/-bud-/1575
  15. We offered Rice on July 11th and he took an unofficial last week, which is lightning fast for a commitment in part because of prior relationships with Emmanuel Toney and Adam Howard.
  16. Nebraska landed their second member of the class of 2023 with the commitment of 6'7" guard Eli Rice from Gallatin, TN. Originally in the class of 2022, Rice landed a spot at prep powerhouse IMG Academy and reclassified to 2023. Rice picked Nebraska out of a final three that included VCU and Georgetown. At the moment, Nebraska currently has one scholarship remaining for 2023. View full article

  18. Surprised nothing has been announced yet. I'm going to step away from my computer for a bit to make it happen.
  19. Watching the FIBA EuroBasket U18. I think he was looking at this guy
  20. Started from the bottom now we're still here
  21. I think we'll have a new coach announcement this week, maybe even as early as Monday.
