Where It Went Wrong (Maybe) -- Some Stats

We hit 290 3's last year (23-24) at the end of the regular season and this year (24-25) we only hit 225....yikes. Clearly the biggest issue with this year's squad was the lack of shooters. -

Folks, enough of the nonsense fire Hoiberg stuff. The fact that we were in NCAA tournament discussions the last week of the season is a miracle with how flawed this roster was. Outside of Brice and Juwan, the rest of the guys would make up an average A10 conference team. We lost 9 games that came down to the final minute/ OT, so we were right there we just didn’t have enough talent to close out games. Berke got hurt at the worst possible time and we got screwed in a few games. Yes, you can blame Fred for the lack of talent on the roster, but overall the transfers simply didn’t play up to expectations. Is that a coaching issue or the players just not holding up the end of their bargain ? I’m not sure. Fred just needs to get some talent and athleticism from portal with Rienk and we might be alright. -

Has anyone seen NIT projections ? I really hope we don't play in that stupid College Basketball Crown Tournament.

Just a knife in the heart loss in so many ways. The boys showed great effort and fight. Like Husker football, this team has no idea how to win close games. We were up 5 in OT with 2 minutes left. You can't give up that lead on the road. We couldn't get the key stop defensively when we needed it. Why on earth are we leaving Thorton and Mobely wide open ? I feel so bad for Brice and Juwan. #MARCHSADNESS -

Our offense is so awful. I guess we should have saw the early warming signs against UTRGV and Bethune Cookman. Not having a big men that can pass the ball is killing this team. A lot of those back doors we try to run have to be open but our big men can’t pass for crap. Every single one of our portal additions have all underperformed from their previous teams and some of them have been significantly worse. We’re not a bad basketball team we’re just extremely flawed in many ways. This team doesn’t deserve to make the Dance with a lot of bad losses especially at home. Hopefully this rag tag bunch can figure it out and put themselves back in position to make the Dance. -

Depending on where you look, OSU and Indiana are projected to make the dance. I think this would be good for us because OSU and IU would likely be the last four in, meaning Nebraska won't have to play in the "play in" game. We have better resumes than OSU and IU. The final week is going to be crazy.

It would be nice to be a 9 seed in the Big Ten tournament, because that would be another quad 1 opportunity playing the 8 seed. I don't think the committee really values the conference tournaments that much unless you really go on a heater.

Brice was excellent. I think what kills this team the most is lack of shooting and having a big man that can pass. Morgan, Berke, and Meah are horrific passers. Is it just me, or is Essegain open most of the time on back doors ? Our bigs just can't pass the ball at a high enough level. -
