  1. I was pretty impressed by him also. Only had 3 shots and looked to get his teammates involved pretty often.
  2. I had the same thought yesterday. When Gary is back, he'll play the minutes/role rice was getting, and could eat some of Brices minutes.
  3. Some good some bad, but overall good start to the season. Took care of business. -big rotation is going to be good. Love both mast and allick. -brice and JL felt like they were trying to force it a bit at times to get going. Interested in how keisei playing will open up the court for those two -Rice felt like he got bullied a bit today, which will happen as a freshman. Felt like he shot more than 3 times today. Hopefully he can get going over the next few games. Gary would probably play in his spot when he's back. -sam was great today. He definitely looked improved from last year, and it'll be hard to not play him if he can do what he did today Very happy with tonight. Hopefully get clarity on Gary's situation soon. Keisei just needs to get his ankle right
  4. This was his reasoning and I guess I can get that from an outside perspective. Boogie didn't play great at mizzou, so he's concerned about how he translates to a HM level again. And as I said before, Lawrence isn't being included in the equation imo. The big spot defensively will be a bit worse, but I think it'll be a similar scheme to what they ran last year. Double baseline post with a switch philosophy up top. With mast, you probably play a drop I imagine. I don't agree, but I can see the thought process at least
  5. I think ulis is practicing with the team until he's told he can't, but I agree. I don't expect him to be eligible this year at all. The hoiberg boogie distinction is interesting, and Sam eluded to trying to be more comfortable with the ball in his hands and create in the post game presser last night. I would love if he can push boogie.
  6. I had boogie penciled in as a starter, mostly because I wasn't sure about Lawrences comfortability yet at the 1, but him being comfortable should definitely elevate him to the starting spot. Boogie will and should still get some time, especially to let him work through some growing pains. I'm moreso interested in how Sam and/or Cale push boogie. They both have a year at least of experience in the system, so comfortability will be there for them. Lloyd is a wild card in this discussion and I genuinely have zero clue what to expect from him this year. I admittedly didn't watch last night, but I'll be there Monday. It's going to be extremely hard to redshirt Rice I think, but I don't know if he vaults over in the rotation? Maybe he can be a combo forward with CJ or Brice opposite a big in smaller lineups? Guys will miss time this year as it always happens, so maybe he's a relief guy they have in those circumstances. It's a good problem to have but it's something I'm watching, how rice is incorporated early, and what his role looks like as the season progresses
  7. It'll primarily be Lawrence and boogie I imagine, but I'm interested in what wrinkles Fred uses to get keisei looks or even Brice looks. CJ had a good summer passing the ball on the overseas trip if I remember right for example. DHOs with mast/allick with a cutter along the baseline. I trust Fred as his offenses have generally had good assist numbers his time here. Just question it a bit
  8. My biggest question this year is who's the primary set initiators? Lawrence and Coleman obviously make sense. Wonder if they use keiseis shooting gravity to run some sets for some guys with the ball in his hands, but he'll need to be able to make passes.
  9. Still no other offers, but Fred's keeping him warm at least
  10. It might just be me, but a lot of outlets are accounting for keisei in their preseason write up, but it feels like Lawrence is getting forgotten about from them. By all accounts, could be the starting lead guard and was very important to the end of the year run last year. He shouldn't be catching people off guard this year, but it looks like he is?
  11. I didn't get the chance to head out, but I'll be at every home game this year. Glad to see diop getting praise. Even if he is just a rim runner that cleans the glass and can be an over the top lob threat, that's a net positive. Will help he has two very experienced bigs to learn from in allick and mast. CJ I hope has a bounce back year to at least be respectable. Last year was very rough for him, but I'm hopeful he can turn it around this year. Would be a massive threat coming off the bench
  12. Don't think bahl has been mentioned in here yet. Did really really well on the AAU circuit and can shoot. Only has one offer so far too Bryant, but Creighton, ISU and others are sniffing at least.
  13. I will now be very disappointed if he isn't N. In all seriousness, great wing for Fred if it comes to fruition.
  14. Glad we're getting him on campus. Hoping for the best.
  15. Given the question marks surrounding Keitas ankle, looking at a more ready JUCO makes sense.
  16. The obvious hole is creation for self and others from my point of view. There's ways to counter that with ball movement and off ball movement, Coleman in particular will have to carry most of this load. Lawrence hopefully improves in this area as well. Guys like mast, allick, Gary and CJ will have to be smart with the ball though, as be asked to do some creating. I think Fred can gamelan around it and I trust him to do so. Over his coaching career here, he's always had someone finish top 10 in the big ten in apg, with two being there last year. To answer the question, obvious one is Tai Webster. Brandon Richardson would've been a great fit in this offense in my opinion too
  17. I hope so. That's the weekend of the Michigan game, which is a fox noon kickoff? I was worrying about Missouri a bit, but they took Marshall and they have a visit locked in with Jayden Quaintance, a 5 star big, so may not be a spot for him. Xavier is a threat obviously. OSU is as well, and both of those worry me
  18. First time going through the seat yourself process and I forgot about the donation aspect. I ended up getting one in the 100 levels thankfully. Was sweating towards the end there
  19. I'm hoping I can luck out and get a 100 level today just for me. 10:45 is my time so I may be cutting it closer.
  20. Experienced guard that has some good moments in his career at this stage is hard to turn down. Biggest question for me is efficiency and defense, more of a "how will that look here", but his role will be to organize the team on offense and hit shots when called upon. At this stage, this is about as good as it can get, and he's still going to be a positive player.
  21. I was a fan of this kid, but looks like he ended up at OU. Never extended an offer from our end.
  22. Could've been a matter of us being overseas and trying to play the games when this was taking place maybe? At the same time, landed Coleman, but that was AFTER the games. Also, Coleman actually was in the portal vs mulcahy never re-entering. It's interesting, but Coleman isn't a bad consolation
  23. It's in the best interest of the team for CJ to play good imo. Him playing well unlocks a very lethal 5-out lineup with him, Brice, and mast in the front court with keisei and fill in guard in the backcourt. I do think coming off the bench, similar to what he did his first year, should help. If it doesn't work or he's not playing well, at least you have a few options in rice or Brice. Could go 3 guards also
  24. That's my question. If he's deemed ineligible, I wouldn't think so? But the staff may not want to wait for that to play out, as it may be a while before they find out one way or another
