Could be something, or could be nothing. But all of the staff members, Howard, loesner, Tommy, and Luca, have gotten a follow from Bryce Pope recently. (highlights linked below). I like the idea of the fit, but we'll see. Might be something to pay attention to.

He added a "do not contact" tag when he entered, so he likely already has his school picked

Mag was rumored to almost leave last offseason, so that one isn't that much of a shock. The main shock to me was Griffiths. One of the highest ranked guys in Rutgers history, and a style of game that gets better the older he gets. Playing with two super freshman will also open up looks for him. Cliff I don't really get, but he could be chasing money. Simpson is probably just getting recruited over.

That would suck honestly. He was a late take, so not shocking though

2023 F Gus Yalden -> Wisconsin
thrasher31 replied to Navin R. Johnson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
I'd be cautious about it, but if they're sure they can help him mature, I'd be for it. And if I remember right, he does have family out here, so having family ties to help keep him in check should help. -

he still has 4 years to play, so maybe? I believe he has family in Grand Island iirc. I don't know the full story here though -
Ulis would be my guess. Maybe diop if he wants a better shot at minutes. Ulis is my guess though

The only true rotation pieces for next year they lost were CJ and potentially rice. Neither of those are back breakers though, so they still have the nucleus of next year's rotation in tact, and can build/add to it.
-
Like others have said, competition. But I wouldn't be shocked if they look at a guy or two that didn't workout at their previous stop after one year similar to CJ Wilcher. No clue on who that would include, but a 3 year guy that can develop over those 3 years makes sense.
-
Ewin is being followed by Tommy, so that may have some traction.
-
I haven't heard anything about juco guys, so no clue.
-
Rice may be the only one who isn't nudged, but he saw the writing on the wall with playing time. Didn't like where he was going to be at and that's why he left.
-
You just gave me hope. I don't want hope but I love hope

Something I would prefer in this portal cycle is to balance out the classes a bit. We have 6 seniors next year, which is good, but the team the following year will be bare. Getting a sophomore or freshman leaving a school would be awesome this cycle. Or picking up another HS kid
-
I know it's hindsight, but I'd rather have him return than rice.
-
This is how I feel. Very much doubt he ends up at a HM. He could very easily score a lot at a mid major, and I think that's where he ends up. Loss for the wing room, but he's by no means irreplaceable

First Nebraska portal movement

It's going to be very hard to keep him out of the rotation imo. He has a lot of game.
-
There was last year too, and I think he was close to entering last year. We'll see ultimately

https://www.sportsmd.com/sports-injuries/foot-ankle-injuries/high-ankle-sprain-syndesmotic-sprain/high-ankle-sprain-recovery-time/ This article and most research says high ankle sprains take 6-8 weeks. Much much different than regular ankle sprains. He was just ramping up to practice this week, which lines up in my opinion

They have one open scholly at the moment, so yeah. Naturally it'd depend on who leaves. And yeah, as far as players that are typically unnamed but come out of nowhere that's pretty accurate. Gary is an example of that, as is Coleman or Mast. It's probably one of the more interesting off-seasons in Fred's tenure, as they have an established formula that works, but still have holes. Building on the culture while filling those holes is going to be interesting. And who ends up leaving, as they only have 1 open scholly at the moment.

uneblinst's postgame chatter: vol 16; ed 34- Texas A&M
thrasher31 replied to HuskerFever's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
Morning after, I'm just thankful to have watched this team all year. I'll never take winning 19 games at home for granted, as that's a special season. I hate and am gutted it ended the way it did, but it is what it is. Tomorrow will still come. Fred and his staff are building a foundation, just need to continue to build on it. Guys internally to the program need to improve and develop, which seems to be the case with loesner being great at player development. Keisei, CJ, d walk, Gary are examples. I want to see Rice step into being a regular rotation piece and Lawrence be able to provide a good scoring punch as a starter or off the bench. -
So far, these are the guys that have been contacted by us. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/tarris-reed-jr-1.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/frankie-fidler-1.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/koren-johnson-1.html https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/jalen-leach-1.html (hasn't been confirmed but Howard is following) In a vacuum, I like all these as they fill holes.

Texas A&M (20-14) vs. Nebraska (23-10) Game Thread
thrasher31 replied to Bugeaters1's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
It's the day. I missed the last time we were in the tourney as I was overseas, so this is the first time I'll see them in the tournament. Positive vibes. Positive thoughts. And don't get too high or too low. It's time. -
I gave up on him impacting the team when he continued showing up on the injury report. Very strange situation he's had here, and for no real reason either. Best for both parties to just move on.
