uneblinstu's postgame chatter : vol 17; ed 30- Ohio State

He moved a considerable amount. Considering the ref was right next to him and that's his job, yeah there's a reason to be upset. -

Proud of the effort and the fight. Toughly fought game that was decided up until the buzzer. Kelly Pfeifer is probably top 2 worst refs in the big ten, so NOT SHOCKED he called a terrible game. Not just the movement on the out of bounds, but the Ts that were missed and the Brice flagrant. I'll give them the out of bounds on Connor, as I could see where they could say it touched his hand before going out. Don't think it was conclusive, which it needs to be, but can see it. Iowa is dead in the water. Close that one, lick your wounds and win a game or two in the BTT. Quality of wins to this point help a lot to keep us in the conversation, just need a few more wins. -
Berke getting hurt 3 different times it feels like this year hasn't helped him get confident and stay confident either. Hopefully he doesn't have any fiba stuff this summer, because he can use the time to get his body right and rest up. He didn't have much off time last year going into the season, so hopefully he gets some this year to just focus on his body

uneblinstu's postgame chatter : vol 17; ed 29-Minnesota

I disagree on consistency tbh. I look at big ten play with a lot of stuff, and In Big ten play he's floating around 34% from 3 before today, which should bump up. He'll likely end up with more makes from 3 in conference than CJ and right behind keisei. Now, he's THE shooter on the team, so he's going to have a good number of makes from 3 in big ten play, whereas last year there was 5 guys who could hit a 3 ball consistently. I see him in more of a CJ role tbh, but that's just me I just expected more, but having better shooters supporting him next year should help. -

Yeah I agree on the spacing factor. I just haven't been a fan of his due to his inconsistencies honestly. But I see what you're saying. -

I was against this before, but when he's hitting his shots like today, it worked. He played essentially the entire second half and helped spark the comeback. Take out meah and insert him. -

Good comeback, but too little too late. Some missed calls sure, but you can only worry about what you can control. Needed to get stops late desperately and they couldn't deliver. Bigsby going 5-6 from 3 despite shooting 24% from 3 in the year is a knife in the back. Is what it is. Move on and win vs OSU. -
We're included in this. I've thought he's a 2025 kid for a while, but Dushawn says he's a 2026 kid, so we'll see He's a defensive wing that can hit a shot and has good size at the wing spot. Think he's definitely worth a look.

Michigan (20-6) vs. Nebraska (17-10) Game Thread

I would agree, but at this point there's a reason he's not playing. I wouldn't bank on that changing with 3 regular season games left -

You can argue a few different things to do there decision wise (timeout, drive, pass to Connor, pull up yourself) and it's one of those situations where there's no right answer. You live with the result. I would've liked Brice to take it himself, but I think Michigans bigs were back in or near the paint, and Brice had already missed a few shots late, so I understand Brices thought process. Take the open look -

They challenge Maryland for team I disliked the most this year. -

I disagree on Connor from a shot making perspective, but I do see the spacing aspect. They need to stop running so much dho stuff for him at the top or having him run around like he's keisei. He's not that kind of player. Run it for Brice with Connor spacing in the corner. I'll see what Fred does on Saturday cuz I do see the thought process. But at the same time he has to make his shots, and he's at 34% from 3 in conference after tonight. -

Defense showed up on both sides. Michigan was blowing up our stuff all game and doubling Brice. Connor making some shots wouldn't helped a lot. I've mentioned I'm not a fan of his before, but he's the only shooter they have. He has to show up from deep. -

Game Day Essentials: Game #28 vs #15 Michigan
thrasher31 replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
The freshman guards they have are talented, each differently, but none can really guard up like Rubin can imo -
So they dropped one of their two West coast games. Moves them further off the bubble, as they're sitting at 15-13 on the year. Have USC in Cali, us at Columbus and then iu in Bloomington. They have to win two of those, as it's extremely hard to make it in at 15 losses. I don't think they should be on the bubble at all, but they are for some reason

Both of those last year were semi explainable too. Diop was a late flier that wasn't bound to stick anyways. He's done ok at LMU, with potential to build on. I was never a big fan of Rice so wasn't upset when he left, which may be a hot take. Both of them agreeing to redshirt should say they're bought into here long term. Could've easily said no to redshirting, like others have in the past. Janowski could spurn us, but I'm not sure. -
I'll be pretty upset if he doesn't get another year. Made the best out of a pretty crappy roster. Considering they're only half a game behind us, I'd definitely keep him. Minnesotas issue I think is the people above him and the NIL funding
-
I'm keeping that in the back of my head. Frager is from here so I have to think he'll stay. Janowski I think should stay due to bump in minutes and role next year. Physically, he looks ready to go.
-
I think we'll see all 3 freshman in bench roles next year, with one of the two redshirting having a good chance at major minutes. Early guess is Nick J, but depends how he's doing in practice
-
Take care of business coming up vs Minnesota and Iowa and they should be fine. Minnesota is sneaky good too. Shockingly have 6 big ten wins. Ben Johnson is doing such a good fucking job given his departures this off-season. And being without one of his big portal acquisitions in Tyler Cochran
-
OSU losing today in the fashion they did helps us. They have two West coast games before we go to Columbus. We'll see how they look around that time.

Good thing I didn't tune into this one lol. -
Well rollie committed on April 15th, and Chucky entered April 18th. But, Louisville dropped a massive bag for Chucky, and he committed there a week later. So even if we pursued, doubtful it was going anywhere. Back channel non official stuff was going on I'm sure, but I'm just basing it off what I see. If I'm off so be it.
-
I think the timing was off with Chucky personally. By the time he entered the portal, we already had Worster locked up. We could've kicked him to the curb for Chucky, but that's not how the staff operates I imagine. I think with bashir, the longer it went on, the more likely it was to be a money grabbing game. Highest bidder situation, and we bowed out right away. I think shortly after he visited is when rhymes committed, so could've been a deal of "ok bashir isn't coming, you have the green light Rhymes".
