Few more names that have popped up as guys I like recently. Sam Lewis https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/sam-lewis-2.html (probably one of my favorite wing targets) Dai dai Ames https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/dai-dai-ames-1.html Jeremiah Wilkinson https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/jeremiah-wilkinson-1.html All Wright https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/all-wright-1.html Josh Harris https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/josh-harris-1.html Blake Buchanan https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/blake-buchanan-3.html

I agree, but will Wade is different than Chris Beard, at least to me.
-
I'd be honestly shocked if he isn't at USC or UCLA. He had his dad pass two years ago and his mom was sick too. At minimum, he'll stay on the West Coast. Helps whatever school he ends up at that house brother is a hooper too https://247sports.com/player/maximo-adams-46136627/

Old friend alert. https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/parker-friedrichsen-1.html
-
Just throw Gavin out in some lineups and see what happens. In all likelihood he's transferring, but he's battling for a spot.
-
I think it's more a case of he's not very good. Dropping down a level is probably best for him.
-
Miami is the obvious one to me with that being home. FSU also is another. Let them overpay for him.
-
I personally pass on him here. Was not a fan of his over the past 3 years at IU. He's a 5 in a 4 body but can't defend the 5 spot. Hard hard pass on him from me. He'll probably go bag chasing too. Good chance he ends up at home in Miami

No inside knowledge but just a few that have stood out to me so far. https://aws.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/mister-dean-1.html (super athlete) https://aws.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/gabriel-pozzato-1.html https://aws.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/brock-harding-1.html (option 3 type guy imo) https://aws.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/jaden-henley-1.html (big ten experience and has experience at PG at unlv. Had to run it for a period of time) https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/players/jalen-jackson-4.html Not many pgs yet, but portal hasn't officially opened yet. Also Pryce is on this list too, but that was obvious

PG is something this cycle they HAVE to nail. Even if it's a guy who can just put the ball in the basket in a combo guard role with reink doing now initiating, that's a spot they need to nail. If janowski Progressed athletically and at Ball handling, he could also do this, but we'll see. Still really high on him. Wing will have plenty of scoring options, so they'll be able to find someone I believe.
-
That would be a shocking development for it to move this fast
-
Think we finished second in his recruitment, so definitely worth monitoring
-
I was talking about the 17-18 Nebraska team. The one that missed it with 22 wins
-
Can someone smarter than me do a side by side resume comparison between this UNC team and that Nebraska team?
-
I'm indifferent. If they're able to clear room on their roster via walk ons moving on, I'd be fine with it. Right now they have 4 spots available going into next year though with the new 15 roster limit rule. Good chance Burt isn't here, and wouldn't shock me on Jacobsen either. That would put us at 6, and I'd be fine with that
-
No idea. Wish I knew, because it would be helpful. The mid season tournament in Vegas may be a similar pay out. But idk
-
Apparently there's an NIL incentive tied into this tournament. No one knows what the incentive is though. If it goes to our collective, then it's definitely something that'll make a difference

Where It Went Wrong (Maybe) -- Some Stats

I think meah was what he was. I didn't think much of him tbh though. To each is it's own. A lot depends on how they see Berke next year. A combo 4/5 again, or primary 4? And if bollis is ready to contribute, which I wouldn't bank on. Id personally prefer 1, but depends how the roster falls and where the needs are. -

Yeah he was pretty soft, specifically around the rim. He needs to embrace physicality more often, and I have to think that's a point of emphasis on the off-season. One also wonders if having 3(?) different injuries in the same year played a role. Last 4 games of the year he clearly didn't trust his body. Meah I just didn't think much of tbh. So him being soft doesn't shock me. The faster he can get out of here the better. One of my least favorite players I've seen, and I'm usually EXTREMELY PATIENT with players. But holy shit he was lazy. -

He was one of my guys, so ive pondered about Berke and his season so I went to the stats. His jumper in conference play was better than I had realized honestly. Before going down with his ankle injury vs OSU, he was 37.5 from deep on 40 attempts across 13 games in conference play. I've said it for a while, I care more about conference play #s at the end of the season. Low volume, but effective in his choices. What brings down his % from 3 is going 1/12 in the last 4 games of the year. He does play soft around the bucket at times, and that is 100% something he needs to work on, but that comes with working on his body imo. Needs some reshaping and some more muscle. Very good rebounder. Smart in the post on defense. And high low actions with him posting and mast feeding need to be a part of the offense next year. Only reason I bring him up is I see him getting beat up a bit across different Nebraska boards, and I thought his season was good through the middle half, but ended absolutely terrible. -

I've had this talk with a buddy and some family members. Few things stood out to me this year about what went wrong. -Rollie IS NOT what I expected. At all. Far worse overall player and didn't relax the offense at all. With no big initiating offense, rollie had to be the QB of the team, and he failed. This is probably the biggest thing about what went wrong this year. They really needed Rollie to be a positive player and I don't think he was close. -all 3 bigs collectively playing bad at the same time didn't help. Berke I know was struggling with his injury, and I like how he played against Iowa honestly. But he played some of his worst basketball after his ankle injury. Morgan slowly got worse as the season went on and you could tell his confidence faltered in the process. Meah I thought played in in a few games and downright terrible in the rest. I didn't have high expectations for him honestly, so not too shocked. -I'll cut Connor some slack because I do think he fought on the glass and on defense more than I thought he would. That stood out to me. Mentioned it in another thread, but we don't win NW without him crashing the glass like he did. But he has to get to be more consistent from 3. It's either really hot and he'll hit 3-4, or he'll miss every 3. Having better shooting around him should help next year though. -
Of late, we've had more success with guys moving up from mid majors. I don't think there's an exact formula really, it's about finding the right fit. I lean towards the mid major under this current climate personally. The staff as a whole outside of this last cycle, has been pretty on the money with who they've brought in and those guys making positive impacts. The PG duo from last year in ulis and boogie was a disaster, but they were options 4 and 5 iirc. I'm looking forward to some of these guys getting better in the off-season after a taste of basketball here. Portal wise, we'll see what it holds. JUCO ruling could inflate it a bit, but there's the revenue share part that could hold some guys.

I thought his fight was there most of the time. He just couldn't hit a shot. We don't win the NW game without how hard he crashed the glass. He definitely got tougher this year, he just needs to shoot a bit better.
