That’s definitely not who I had heard but hey I’m glad to be wrong, he’s got a great track record.
-
Great comp. I was going to say the "Johnson" brothers that have went to UNC, oldest plays for the Suns.

Can't believe we haven't heard yet!

Different players, different positions. Not all unathletic guys are created equal (ha, jk).
-
Keisei can only be a good player if you are, effectively, running your offense for him or around him. If he's running around and everyone is screening for him, looking for him (ala Steph or something), he can be pretty effective. But he's not athletic or strong enough, to be that guy at this level. Therefore he's relegated to standing in the corner or praying bad/forced shots go in. KT's playing at the wrong level for his skill sets and body. Not trying to be over critical... I just personally think he was a big miss.

Sounds like Jai Steadman or one other I’m not gonna name but would very excited for as I consider him one of the finest men in college basketball coaching.

Best Trainers to work with in Omaha
basketballjones replied to KarlHessEatMy....'s topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I have so many complex takes on this... If you are interested you're than welcome to PM me and we can either discuss it there or the phone. -
100% agree. Positionless basketball is a narrative to keep AAU kids and parents happy. Btw, before anyone says anything, 5-out offense doesn’t mean positionless.

Dog Days of Summer Recommendations
basketballjones replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
@cipsucksstuff is all phenomenal. J. Gilbert’s and The Drover are the place to go to get a steak in Omaha. Only two places I’ve been where I felt I couldn’t have done it better. -
OT: Am I screwed? Dog bit someone
basketballjones replied to basketballjones's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
We’re good to go there at least. He browses some wild websites so getting him vaccinated was tough, but he managed. -
Figured I’d ask this here as you all are my trusted sources for wisdom and insight… Solicitor came by the house unexpected, dog lost his mind for some reason, I told him to go upstairs and thought he did (he’s a tricky bastard). Then I tried to open the door and skinny myself through to close it behind me, and the stealth ninja shot the gap and snipped the lady’s foot. He’s a damn good dog, I think welcoming kid #2 into the house has thrown his world off and he’s become kinda protective. So this isn’t common. Anyone ever dealt with this before? Lady said she was ok… and I apologized profusely. Am I looking at the humane society knocking on my door soon or what? Or is my home owners insurance about to be put to work? TIA

If the "What will it take?" stuff happens ...
basketballjones replied to Norm Peterson's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I don’t know if Nebrasketball has ever even had 50% of the reasonably possible good things happen. -
Time to take the phone off silent and await the call from coach.

Didn't stay up to watch the whole draft
basketballjones replied to colhusker's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I don’t think you know/understand what the euro step is. I believe you’re confusing the gather step that’s being used as justification for nearly 3 steps, and the euro step. -

Why? -
Didn't stay up to watch the whole draft

Shaq would go #1 in this years draft, last years draft, 5 years ago’s draft, 10 years in the future draft, etc… -

2023 C - Madel Deng - Omaha Central 7’2”

Legit 7’2”, moves around pretty well, decent hands and feet, nice touch around the basket. Don’t know anything else about him. Super skinny, doesn’t look very strong. -

That is an interesting take on it and to what I said…. I got the sense that he was operating as a CEO beforehand, especially with recruiting and general management of the team. And that he was also kind of just trusting certain assistants to do their thing and implement his stuff. I have yet to go to a FH practice, but the assertion I got from others was that he was quite a bit hands off, “big picture,” with stuff. My understanding was the edict made to him was to take a more hands-on approach to player procurement and development, and more involvement in the minutiae coaching aspects. So, we’re sorta saying the same thing? A bit of semantics I suppose…

I think it’s pretty clear Fred’s realized he can’t be a CEO and has to take a much more active role. Good for him. College basketball is still more like high school basketball than it is the NBA. Those who’ve realized that and still manage egos, transfers, and NIL are going to be the successful ones.

“To be honest, I watched a lot of Nebraska games. I especially watched Alonzo Verge, the point guard, and how he plays and what he does because that’s my position. I wanted to see what he did in that role so I could fulfill my role if I were to commit there.”
