Oh wow, I did not know that.
-
I’m just seeing this - let’s start praying for a bad nba evaluation.

Bummer, but best of luck to the young man. Hope he's able to get healthy and flourish somewhere. Just somewhere we never play.

I was wanting to get caught up on who Ramel is as a player, and forgot that I had watched this a couple years ago. I forgot how much of a Point Guard I found him to be. Clearly has incredible, heads up, court vision and just knows where guys are. I think I've kinda settled on that he reminds me a lot of Sammy G and Delano Banton in 1 player. But not as tall/long as Delano (but a better scorer), and not as physically big as Sam (but a craftier passer). https://www.google.com/search?q=ramel+lloyd+jr&rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS917US917&sxsrf=APwXEdeWDncwJVdZZik1QzEV6yI63fWN4w:1681841238630&source=lnms&tbm=vid&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiXjuPsgrT-AhWfkIkEHR3yA5AQ0pQJegQIBBAG&biw=1224&bih=730&dpr=2#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:a3d1c830,vid:tsH3nwgeExU

A little birdie says there’s a good good good chance norms prayers were answered -
He was made in a Wisconsin lab and gifted to us for stealing Chucky.
-
I’m very surprised he’s considering us - his reasons for transferring (his words) were so he could have an increased role and freedom offensively. He’s not receiving that here in terms of minutes or role.
-
The difference is he’s legitimately 6’4”, strong, and has decent length. Much more room to develop physically than KT.
-
This is….. uh…. a hell of a f***ing steal from Wisconsin.
-
Kaluma is gone. I think we'll hear the news shortly.
-
I kinda remember he being described as a Brady Manek from OU/UNC

In no way do I want to be overly critical of a player and I want it to be clear I think Wilhelm is a great dude, love his effort, and think he could provide valuable minutes. I do want to clarify, because I didn't say it earlier, but I want him here. But I do want to get it straight what you're saying here.... Wilhelm was billed as a versatile swing 4 - but you want him to not shoot corner 3's or attempt to take guys off the dribble? And I also, I think we would all agree, he hasn't shown much knack for being a back-to-the-basket big - right? So you just want him to be a rim defending, rebounding, 5-man, roll guy? Again, if that's all you think he is, I think there's was a real miss and poor evaluation of his skills and ability for this level. For him to be effective - I think he HAS TO be able to do the things you said you want him to stay away from.
-
200% - me too.
-
I will just come out and say it, as the worst thing that can happen is he drastically changes and proves me wrong - but I think it's pretty clear Wilhelm was a miss and a bad evaluation. I know he has been injured, but I just do not see it. Seems like an absolutely great, team first, hard working dude - appreciate everything he's done and given. Just don't see the skill base or athletic ability. Not at this level at least. And I do remember, when he was finishing up High School, someone actually posted a link to one of his games, and I remember being super hesitant when I actually saw him play in a live, full game.
-
It's actually the exact opposite, and what I don't like about our defense. It just takes one guy to go 95% on his run-off (we don't close-out, we run guys off the line), and we give up a wide open 3. Just one guy to be a .25 second hesitation late on his rotation and we give up a wide open 3.
-
Yeah - one and done because they were instant impact nba talent lol. Not because they had one year left as a "serviceable" guard.
-
I'm not sure it matters in our defensive scheme. We kind of scheme around "staying in front of..."
-
(I’m just messing with ya ha)
-
Agreed. And as the resident "take in-state kids" guy, I appreciate you making this post first, so it didn't hurt me as much.
-
Same. Love his highlight tape. @Jacob Padilla stop - I know. Not sure where he slots in or who he bumps out but we'll see. I'm also operating under the idea that I don't understand why some of these guys, especially older ones, would transfer w/o guarantee of starting role.
-
Injury free or not, I think one has it in them, and I think one doesn't.
-
Based off of what you are seeing from the portal/visits - what are you thinking right now @Norm Peterson
