Is there a date or anything where we can start to feel pretty confident the guys we have are staying? At least for a cycle or something?
-
I'm just curious how everyone fits in if we were able to pull all of those 4. Lawrence? Gary? KT? I can't image we are bringing in anybody from the transfer portal that doesn't assume they're starting.... right?
-
I've never seen him play, in person or tv. I'm aware of highlight film not being the best tool. I'm just saying, he seems to have certain tools that are shown in those highlights that make you wonder what the missing piece is. Would love to hear your evaluation? What are the missing pieces?

Dude... I just don't get it. He jumps out on film. There must be some other stuff going on there, but I'm not going to speculate.
-
Kinda like his game in the clips I've seen... Wonder where he'd fit in positionally for us? Can't imagine he's coming in to sit on the bench.
-
Well in that case, he can perform at the BBall Red/White Scrimmage as artist.
-
Nope. Bradley I think.
-
Or that we don't have players anyone wants.
-
He's averaged more turnovers the last two years than assists, steals, blocks combined. I think he's getting enough attempts from 3 to see what he's capable of.

Career 27% 3pt shooter and career 1:3 assist to turnover ratio... Where do I sign up?!?!?

Transfer Kerr Kriisa -> West Virginia
basketballjones replied to hhcmatt's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Uh... do we have any shot there? -
I really liked him when I saw him at Creighton practice. Energy giver, explosive, strong - kinda like if Sam Hoiberg had D1 size.

Dodged a bullet IMO. They'll still go to the Sweet 16 or whatever, but they kinda always do anyways. -
Keeping Up with Old Friends (The Transferred Thread)

Is there a league higher than the NBA that would be a better fit for him? Feel like his game is too good for the League. -
2024 Wing Patrick Rowe

Man he reminds me exactly of *brain immediately only registers recent athletic white dudes I've seen play in last 3-4 years like Grady Dick or Christian Braun and decides to just not post* -
2020 C John Hugley -> Pitt-> Oklahoma->Xavier
basketballjones replied to Navin R. Johnson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
I was literally just thinking about this on the drive home the other night, after seeing the news of the Pitt guy visiting. Our/Hoiberg's hit rate on signing guys who actually visit seems super high. It's just a matter of getting guys here and seeing it's not a desolate corn field. Amazing facilities, huge support staff, coolish downtown area, great campus, etc... -
2021 SG Hunter Sallis ->Gonzaga->Wake Forest
basketballjones replied to AuroranHusker's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
Everything you just said is why I felt going to Gonzaga was a terrible decision for him from the jump. Gonzaga has been ready to win National Championships, along with having a super deep/old roster, for like 3 or 4 years now. The holes I saw in Hunter's game were not going to get fixed by being a practice dummy and a defensive bench contributor. -
2021 SG Hunter Sallis ->Gonzaga->Wake Forest

I wish we had an answer on KT, because we're in between a rock and a hard place having that up in the air. But a Lawrence, Chucky, and Hunter backcourt sounds pretty athletic and versatile. -

And we were far better offensively once Bando was off the court. Just saying... I've never said I don't want him at Nebraska - minutes ago I posted that having him at the point being flanked by Lawrence and KT could be awesome. He slashes, they shoot. But it's almost impossible in today's game to play a traditional point guard, ala Chucky, and a non-shooting guard also. It's why we didn't work well offensively with Griesel and Bando on the court. -

That was my thoughts exactly, tbh. -
2021 SG Hunter Sallis ->Gonzaga->Wake Forest
basketballjones replied to AuroranHusker's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
He made a poor decision and I felt he made a poor decision when he committed. This isn't difficult... he's not a shooter, aka, not a combo guard. And he's not big enough to be a 1-4/5 switching defender so you can afford to have him on the court even without the shooting (ala Juwan Gary). His best move, imo, is to go to a true mid-major and under the assumption he gets to be "Ja Morant," if you will. -

If I'm Sallis I'm only going places who are slotting me in as their PG and building the team around me. Doesn't make a lot of sense for him to play with someone else who dominates the ball. Or else he'll just have the same roll he did at Gonzaga. Nebraska, with KT and Lawrence flanking him, would actually be pretty great for him. Open up driving lanes for him. -
I don’t think he’s coming here fwiw but who knows
-
Expected. Good for Coach Klein. I know there were some others closely related to the program that were interested, but (I believe, I could be wrong), Bellevue is pretty strict about having to teach in the district/building to Head Coach.
