  1. But other than that this off season is going great!
  2. That'll be $25,000 Mr. White!
  3. Yep. Visit Michigan State, the one big team we've actually been able to compete with, and beat under TM. Great choice.
  4. Norm, I have GERD and colitis - I feel your pain my man.
  5. http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/mens-basketball/mcveigh-focused-on-finding-shooting-touch/article_dd0fb4e5-8568-5002-9f58-81e8f497a941.html "Basketballjones, what's wrong with my shot mate?" "Jake, I thought you'd never ask! You're gonna owe me some cash after this, and no I won't take any vegimite as payment. That crap is disgusting." Not sure if he's asking me or not, but I'll assume he is - pretty clear by the picture in the article that his end hand positioning with his left indicates his left thumb gets in his shot, which can create inconsistency because it means he's a hands shooter. Being a hands shooter isn't a bad thing, shows you have a lot of eye-hand coordination and you'll be prone to some hot streaks. But it also means you'll have some cold streaks. Hands have little muscles - little muscles fail in crunch time or during any moments of energy swings. This is why putting is so hard for most people. My remedy? Work more on your foot work and always getting your feet where they need to be and ready to explode into your shot. Not necessarily about jumping high to shoot, but having your hips ready to explode on the catch, same way, every time. This will take some of the small muscles out of the equation as your body will figure out that you've got more "oomph" in your shot now - allowing you to finish with a more accurate, more consistent, one hand release. With your left high, but open to your head, not the rim. You're welcome, Jack.
  6. That's three big dudes right there. So excited for Roby......
  7. I think he will sign with a team for the upcoming seasonI agree with both of these statements/questions. He looks as good or better than a lot of the regular roster guys who are playing in the Summer League. And unlike some of the guys who appear to be "getting their own", he isn't forcing much.I agree with this, but there are several people (especially Milwaukee Bucks fans) who are hating on him and think he's a black hole. I was reading a message board of theirs to see what they think of him and it was non stop hate. I think they are still butt hurt about Petteway and Co taking them down on no sit sundayHe is a black hole, always has been. The NBA is a black hole league. Make him into a second team gunner or something. He can certainly guard, rebound, finish, and run just as well as any of those other guys. TP can plan in the NBA, I have little doubts about it.
  8. Looks like a Tai Webster clone, imo.
  9. I do not understand why TP can't get picked up full time by a team. Makes zero sense to me... He's so much more "ready," both physically and from a skills perspective, than a huge amount of players coming into the league. He's also only got a few more years of his physical prime - so if a team needs to fill a spot with a much more readiness for a discount - why not TP?
  10. Hoping he tears both ACLs, well, that would make you a sadist. Or you just have a little OCD and want "evenness."
  11. As with most things with kids, they don't see the benefits of something until it directly benefits them. That first time Ed takes a shoulder to the chest and he doesn't go anywhere, and the offensive player loses possession, he's gonna go, "oh, so that's why being stronger and more dense helps in basketball." Nothing improved my rebounding, defending, finishing through contact, and ability to get open like lifting weights and getting stronger. YMCA leagues have lived in terror since my awakening
  12. he'll get a pass this year, but 17-18 will probably be the most crucial season for miles.i'd also say that it'll be difficult to fire him if he keeps bringing in top 100 recruits. If the roster holds.... Which... Obviously... Well, ya know - '17-'18 is, in my opinion, one of the best Husker rosters assembled in my recent memory. Should be a good year to be Miles's "crucial season."If the damn roster holds, that is.
  13. Reading some stuff about how AWIII was asked about "if he's an NBA player why is his team so bad" answers a lot of my questions... Instead of working on the holes in his game that could benefit him and his team to answer those questions, he's going to take the easy way out and change the easiest thing to answer that question, i.e., change teams. My guess is he will be a one-dimensional shooter for a decent team, and be very disappointed in his decision by the end of the 2017 season when he's only playing 20m and the 3rd, 4th option. When he could have been the #1 guy on what could be a decent team. I guarantee he'd be getting more pub and attention as "the guy" on a mediocre major conference team than he will being the 3rd/4th option on a top major conference team (let alone another mid level major conference team).
  14. Some life advice... don't be such a douche even when you're right. It speaks to larger issues. No, it speaks to a delusional college student athlete. This is where I call it quits in this thread. I'm with ya, CrazyforNUHOOPS. We may disagree on some stuff, but it's prolly time to check out of this thread before I say something stupid because I'm mad about this (AWIII leaving).
  15. Not sure I'd take JD over Sweet Jete but I don't really have an argument for why. Yes Ubel would help the most.
  16. Wtf.... So some of you guys gonna man up and apologize to Lanigan? Glad I stayed away from that...
  17. And then retire black jerseys for non-affiliated players such as Lebron James for good measure. Now we're finally on the same page.
  18. Hang white jerseys for guys who were just really good and had fantastic careers beyond Husker hoops. Retire red jerseys for guys who met certain criteria
  19. Which one of those four would make us a tourney team this year?
  20. Ok I'll think outside of the box again - why do we have to do it like everyone else? "Retire" jerseys, maybe not numbers unless they do something highly specific. Struck, Lue, and Hamilton should have jerseys hanging in our rafters. Don't care what anyone says.
  21. I don't understand why there is even a debate here. Retire Strick's, retire Hamilton, retire Lue - who cares?!?!? More jerseys you have hanging in the rafters the better it looks. Honor the players who have done great things here or anywhere else after here. Why do we have to think so small and make this so challenging?
  22. Tough day to be a Nebrasketball fan. First, Boehm balks big time with the Lue question... Now this crap:
  23. There's been one common theme between all the troubles of MBB, between 3 athletic directors, 3 head coaches... I don't know Boehm at all, I've just always had a sneaking suspicion that something isn't right there. I'm not here advocating firing a guy - I just read stuff like this article by Lee and go, "wtf?"
