  1. I hope that you can take my opinion as unbiased, as I have been a fan of Coach McDermott's for quite some time (pre CU days), and I've been to a lot of CU's practices in the past couple years.... But I think Zay has a much higher ceiling than Harrell. RH is a very nice player, but he's a great role player that is a second or third option guy. Zay has the potential to be "the guy" for a team. Again, just my opinion - not trying to knock Ronnie AT ALL. Just think Zay is a hidden treasure that could be a team's number one option. But I certainly understand your comparison.
  2. Reminds me of a young, skinny Chris Paul. Grounded game, explosive and decisive, but not overly athletic. Always looking to pass but never actually specifically looking at one thing (in other words, he sees everything, but you're not ready for it as a defender). Has the floater, explosive change of speed. Edit: yep, just watched another video - Chris Paul is what I'll go with.
  3. I just have to say how immensely pleased I am they have the wrong picture on their website. Such a well known, NBA talent, that a no name freshman is mistaken for him. Best of luck to ya AWIII, but I can't help but feel this is all a very silly, ugly look on you. Hope it all works out.
  4. Some beautiful truth in this post........Where does TM generally fit here?
  5. I don't believe walk-ons affect APR. But I could be wrong. What you can do, however, is give walk-ons with great grades and graduating soon a scholarship after the year starts and that would affect your APR. Did I use the right affect? That you did.All I really cared about tbh

  7. Ugly and sad. BC, Sr's comments don't help TM much.
  8. Not a good injury to recover from. I once worked with a kid who just could never get this fixed. He even went to Germany for surgery. Never recovered or played again. Hope he's getting good treatment! Btw, does it seem increasingly clear that Tim Miles's ideal basketball team is two forwards who are kinda of 2s, one actual 3, one forward who's kind of a 3, but more a 4, and one 4 who is kind of a 5 but not really?
  9. This displeases me... Someone better step up and deliver the good scoops.
  10. Not the same players at all. Jacobson is a much better athlete and much more willing to bang around. I liken Strom to a young Andrew Drevo.
  11. Thank you for your rationality
  12. There's very little difference between the elite of NAIA D1 and the elite of NAIA D2. It's a regional thing. Peru State has been "D1" for a while now, and they regularly lost to the Midland's/Doane's/Morningside's of the GPAC. Until Behrens took over, and is running it like a well-oiled transfer market machine. Best way to win in the upper levels of NAIA. HS kids who are good enough to win you tournament games aren't coming to the NAIA out of high school. But they come after they bounce out of a couple places.
  13. The in-state trio signed in '02 comes to mind -- Dourisseau, Wilkinson, and Enright. Each was pretty highly touted coming out of high school, IIRC.WWWWWWEEEEEEEESSSSSSSS *insert earth shattering dunk Here, have a few! Wilkinson European mixtape. Good stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Bkds-nM6X4 A player truly ahead of his generation.

  15. Fwiw, I'd rather it be a foot/ankle/knee injury - not a stress related issue in the hip/pelvis area. Those can linger forever and cause constant annoyance and discomfort, and never truly be "healed."
  16. BECAUSE ITS SUPER IMPORTANT AND BASKETBALL DOESNT START FOR LIKE FOREVER!!!
  17. The book on the ACT when I was in high school was take it as a junior in the spring, if you don't like what you get, study that summer and take it again in the fall of your senior year
  18. Logan Strom picked up a Boston Univ. offer. It's his 15th D1 basketball offer. I just, really, feel like these are the guys who stay 4 (maybe even 5 with a redshirt) years and are just solid studs as juniors and seniors. He's got a great jump shot, and really good face-up game in the post and pro post.
  19. Young man has an offer from Iowa State and Cincinnati. Are we better than those programs? However, I also never look at scholarship distribution charts so I have no idea if we have room. But we also lose a hundred guys a year so I never worry about it.
  20. Is there really not a Teddy Allen thread on this board? I looked a couple times but couldn't find one. Thoughts on the man? He's heating up big time on offers. Game reminds me of Shavon Shields. Better from outside, but not as big or as athletic as Shavon.
  21. Haven't seen much news posted about this young man lately but he recently decided basketball is his sport in college and is getting blown up by good mid major offers. South Dakota just offered.... IMO, he and Jacobsen or not very similar as some have suggested. Jacobsen is a much better athlete, while Strom shoots it better (potentially). Who Strom reminds me of is my former favorite Husker - Andrew Drevo. Whether that fandom was ironic or not is still up to debate. But anyways, Jacobsen and Morrow will be juniors when Strom would be a freshman. I think he'd make a nice combo with Jordy as he anchors down low, and Strom stretches the floor. He also has a big, thick frame, that would help him guard bigger guys.
  22. In my opinion, if Iowa State sees something in one of our in state kids, we should be considering them also. Like it or not, ISU is a good program.
  23. My issue with that clip is with Tai. Where's the ball pressure? You can't just let Melo stand out there dribbling in one spot clearly looking at the screening action. If Tai has ball pressure and is forcing him away from the obvious action that he's staring at, maybe that pass isn't delivered on point (or delivered at all). I'm guessing Tai was afraid of giving up the dribble drive.Trimble timed that perfectly. He dribbled away from the screen, re-screen action and turned back to make the pass just as Laymon is coming back off the 2nd screen. We could do that too. If we had a shooter that opposing defenses had to chase around the floor. Maybe Jack McVeigh can be that guy. Hands in his pockets, almost standing, Norm! He's sitting on the bench if you're coaching the squad and I know it!
