Chad Luensmann out for the year with TJ surgery. Brutal loss to start the year...our most important piece in the pen.
-
I plugged both scenario's in to RPI Wizard along with how I think we will finish and both came out to be us finishing at #70 RPI. So with that in mind, I think you are right. Win at Ohio St would be better.

A win tonight would be huge. IMO we are playing with house money. A win propels us to probably the "right side" of the bubble and opens up eyes around the nation. Guys like Joe Lunardi is still brushing us off saying things like "Meh" to our home win over Mich or "riding on the big 10 coattails won't work." A loss doesn't hurt us obviously like a loss to Rutgers would.

Keep Taylor on the bench to start the games. It seems to have lit a fuse. Not sure what the stats say but that was by far the best we have looked running action on offense. If we can somehow survive the road gauntlet coming up I think we can start dreaming about dancing. Getting 3 out of the next 5 would be huge.

Michigan (16-4) vs. Nebraska (13-7) Game Thread

Huge win. Has to be our most complete performance since No Sit Sunday. -
IMO, this game will be decided at the three point line and how we do defending it. We have made dramatic improvements there this year so it will be interesting to see if our length gives Mich fits. In the past, like vs Creighton our issues defending the pick and pop has really hurt us in this game. In the last four games against Mich we have given up 42 three pointers and they were hitting at a 50% clip.

Betting Line is at -4.5 in favor of Mich

I have heard the staff will start Gill over Taylor this evening. IMO, if true Gill has earned it and while Taylor provides us with solid defense he only has two made buckets in the past four games.

2018 C Florent Thamba -> Baylor
huskerbaseball13 replied to Navin R. Johnson's topic in Husker Hoops Recruiting
I would hope he would say recruiting is important. I’m sure he will question as to why it would seem Miles has done a better job recruiting but still has fallen flat in the win column. Transfers happen...sure, but we have lost an abundance of starters to transfer or leaving early without much of a chance at the NBA. The constant turnover certainly hasn’t helped on the court. Either way, back to Flo. I really like his highlight reel. Would be a couple compliment to Heiman -

2018 C Florent Thamba -> Baylor

Any timetable for his decision? Seems to be the type of center we need. A guy who can run the floor and one who can actually jump. Moos seems like a very smart dude who has been around the block a time or two. I’m sure the recruiting class will get some consideration but considering the high turnover under Miles I don’t see him putting much stock into who we sign. -

Nice comeback to give us a chance. Hero ball doesn’t work for us at the end. Unfortunately, games like that separate the contenders and the pretenders. Have to win the next two. -

28 percent from the field is not going to get it don’t on the road. -
Dicks, they could have done without the disparaging remarks.

Tony Carr is very good but I'm less concerned with him and more concerned with Lamar Stevens. Stevens is averaging over 20 PPG and close to 5 boards over the last three Big 10 games. Shooting 64% from the field. I'd imagine Roby and Cope will be handling him. Hopefully they can do so without fouling. What's the over/under on attendance tonight? 3K?

Rumour du jour: Possible Jordy Transfer
huskerbaseball13 replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
I would prefer he stays as well. He has shown flashes but for whatever reason has not progressed thus far. If he does come back...I hope Miles doesn’t cater to him. But, I don’t think Miles is that type of coach as evidence of Andrew White transferring. Hopefully the team can put it behind them and pull out a win tomorrow. -
Rumour du jour: Possible Jordy Transfer

Yes, I do feel he is a bad basketball player right now. We have been better when he’s not on the court. As I said, if he stays and does a 180 like Tai Webster...awesome. But, this team can still get things done without him. -
Rumour du jour: Possible Jordy Transfer
huskerbaseball13 replied to hhcmatt's topic in The Haymarket Hardwood
It’s what I meant and actually posted. Admittedly I was a little peeved at the news considering Miles has gone to bat for Jordy all year but again...Jordy the player has been lackluster at best. If that’s the Jordy we get this year we can do without him. If he sticks around and becomes a solid contributor great. But, we can reach our goals without him.
